[Q] Please help with a soft brick - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm running SlimRom Beta and today I flashed the new BMS kernel for 3.4. I rebooted into recovery, wiped dalvik and cache, and installed the kernel. then I rebooted. But my screen is all glitchy and the colors are weird and everything is really zoomed in.
So then I turned the phone off and tried doing Vol up+home+power to get into recovery but the phone refuses to do so. Any help on this? I'd really appreciate it

Can you get into Download Mode ? If so then you can try to push Recovery via ODIN again.

[Q] Cannot get into recovery.

Currently running cwm 3.0.0.8 and CM7 rc1 I believe.
I CAN get into the rom, and everything else on the phone works. However....
I cannot get into recovery in any way. Not by using rom manager, not by holding down the power button and selecting restart into recovery, not by shutting down the phone and rebooting while holding volume down. I get stuck on the splash screen indefinitely every time.
Any suggestions?
Do I need to use an older version of cwm?
I would really like to have recovery back...
Any help appreciated.
Edit: Found a solution. Just had to flash an older version of CWM then flash back to the new version. Sorry for the extra unnecessary thread.
Try to install a new recovery through ROM Manager.
this happens to me whenever I downgrade the CWM from 3008 to 3007, i can never go straight into recovery thatway. I usually flash the recovery from RM twice, and reboot. Then flash into recovery and it generally works.
Don't know why it happens...just does.
good luck!

[Q] Stuck in boot loop, can't get into download mode, CWM hangs at formatting /cache

I have the Telus SGH-T989. Rooted, latest CWM Recovery Touch installed. Was running Darkside Evolution 7 and the phone would not "properly" restart itself - would hang at black screen with buttons lit up until I pulled the battery. Booted fine when I did that, but I didn't want to deal with it every time so decided I would flash a new ROM. Well, never quite made it that far... CWM hangs on "formatting cache" when I select wipe data/factory reset. After sitting there for a while, it restarted and went into a boot loop. I can get it back into CWM, but it continues to hang if I try formatting the /cache or installing a new .zip. I cannot get the phone into download mode to use ODIN, it only goes to the battery charging display or CWM.
I tried searching a bit, but it seems the other threads are having the opposite problem - can get into download mode but not CWM.
Anything I can do to fix this from CWM, or will I have to build a cable "jig" to trick the phone into download mode?
Kill the battery and try to get into download mode or try to get into cwm

Well. I am now at a complete loss... I was letting it cycle restarting to run down the battery, and after the 30th or so time, it booted up fine and stayed running. Gonna hold off attempting updates or anything until I can rig up a cable jig in case it goes again.
I normally do...
Wipe Data/Factory reset
Wipe cache partition
install zip from sdcard
go to Advanced
Wipe dalvik cache
Wipe battery status
Fix permissions (just incase)
Reboot Device
wait about usually 3-8 minutes depends on the ROM. if it's longer then that then your stuck in a boot loop
this is all on done on CWMR v6.0.1.5
Please help
I am having the same problem. Also it is in bootloop and i am not able to boot the phone.

[Q] Having flashed a stock ROM via Odin, my N7105 will not boot

Hi, I'm fairly new to Rooting and ROM flashing but having successfully flashed a few ROMs to my N7105 (Note II International LTE), I decided to go back to the stock firmware.
Having flashed the stock ROM for my region, my phone now does not get past the Samsung logo. It appears as though everything went ok in Odin but the phone just won't boot!!
Having done a bit of searching, I think it might be that my data/dalvik cache needs to be wiped (if I've got that wrong, be nice - I'm new to this!). Thing is, I can't find a way to wipe this cache without loading in to CWM recovery or similar. The recovery that I can currently boot in to does not allow me to wipe cache, only to go in to download mode or to reboot.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Never mind, just discovered holding Volume Up, Home and Power boots in to the actual recovery mode from which I did a factory resst.
Told you I was a NOOB

[Q] Can't boot into recovery but can boot normally-xperia S

Hello there, I'm a bit new to this, but I wanted to try flashing a custom rom. I was using So I chose Carbonn 4.4.4 rom. Prior to that I installed doomslord CMW recovery 6.0.30 and did a backup of my Rom. Then I booted into recovery, wiped the data and flashed the carbonn Rom. Everything went fine, then I realized I hadn't flashed the gapps. So I rebooted my phone into recovery (Pressing the volume up button at the 'sony' logo). However it doesn't boot into recovery. The led light turns blue and it's stuck on the Sony logo. The only way to get out of it is the power down the device manually by pressing the power button and volume up button.
Rebooting into recovery only causes this problem. Otherwise it boots normally into the carbon Rom. How do I restore my backup? Since I can't boot into recovery?

The latest Carbon ROM has recovery which doesn't work on Our phone. Follow the procedure here to flash a working recovery.
Tried that but cant seem to work. Besides it requires busy box to be installed which I cant seem to install. Any apk for that matter cant be installed. It shows "Cant open file"

if You are on latest version of carbon, You wouldn't need to root as the ROM is pre rooted. Are You sure Your apk file are good? Because in any case, You must be able to install at least an apk file. Did You try messing with the ROM before?

Can't flash other Recovery

Hi, i have an I9195 and a huge problem.
Until recharge in the night, the phone shutdown for any reason.
I had flashed Cynagenmod 12.1 on it, so i have CWM Recovery. After it doesnt started and hang in the startscreen of Cynagenmod(the blue Alien or whatever it is ), i entered Rcovery mode and tried to wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache. Nothing happened and when i started Recovery i also got and Error:
Can't mount /cache/recovery..
I tried to format the cache and wipe it, but anything helps.
So i decided to go back to stock. i downloaded the stock rom and flashed it threw odin. But when i entered Recovery, the CWM Recovery is still there. This shouldn't, because the stock rom flashes his own recovery, didn't she? But well, i tried to start the Phone but hang in a bootloop. I only see the Samsung logo, then it restarts after a while. I think because i couldnt wipe the cache.
But well, so i thought about to flash TWRP Recovery. But well, get trolled by odin and my phone again, still enters the CWM recovery. When i flashed threw odin, no error occured and all flashes ended with success.
What can i do now?
