[MOD][Boot Animation]Nexus 7 Particles (New) in FHD - Nexus 7 (2013) Themes and Apps

:: What's this? ::
I always thought that Wrixituz Particles boot animation for the original Nexus 7 was one of the most amazing boot animations, and I still use it because it's so awesome! :good:
This is a conversion for the new Nexus 7, with a modified desc.txt to upscale to full HD (and it looks about the same as on the old N7).
:: Video preview ::
:: Download ::
EDIT: I've size optimized the animation by using a delay in the desc.txt file, and fixed the image numbering.
LINK
:: Installation ::
Drop the bootanimation.zip in your /data/local folder, and it should be working on next bootup!
You might have to set your permissions for bootanimation.zip to rw-r--r-- in order to get it working.
:: Credits ::
All credits go to Wrixituz for the original animation - this is merely a minor modification to make it work on N7 FHD (or any other device with a 1200x1920 resolution for that matter).
And thanks to thor6577 for his boot animation thread, which partly inspired me to do this conversion.
Enjoy
:: Bonus ::
Same boot animation for the Nexus 4, also size optimized.

wow! this is really nice!!

Wow. That's nice looking.

Wow! that looks amazing. Thanks!
EDIT: When it powers up the animation only stays on the screen for about a second then a black screen for ten seconds until the device boots up.

Hi Cinco
When I use it, it uses the full animation - it sounds like you only get the first part for some reason. Do you have a similar problem with other boot animations, and do other people experience the same problem?
Thanks, Artur

I myself finding the same thing. It boots up, then about 2 secs goes black, then about 3 secs it boots up for me

Do another custom boot animation with more than one part in the zip file work for you? I have an idea for an optimization to this boot animation, I'll let you know when I update it, and would appreciate feedback on it.

I had the same result, black screen after a while. Cool animation but not sure why it is so short.

Weird, mine works just fine... :/

I'll have a look at this during the weekend - I'm away on a full week course these days, and will be home in the weekend - then I'll try to optimize it a bit, would be interesting to see if it works out...

Wooo nice one. :good:

Now I've optimized the animation by reducing the file size, and I've also fixed the image numbering.
If it still only shows the first part of the animation, I have no clue what might be the cause of that - I can tell that it works perfectly for me.
I've also added an optimized version of the same boot animation in 768x1280 for the N4.

For some reason some of my personal boot animations just play the first part, and I can't figure out why. The only way to solve this is reducing the image size or not using greater number of images in one loop. I'm still on it, because I've seen boot animations with bigger image size and in greater numbers that still plays just fine.
If you find a way please tell me as I'm in the same boat.
By the way, yours work fine in my device.

Sorry - I didn't understand that - do you still experience the error? I really can't do anything about it, since the animation is working perfectly for me, as well as a couple of others (and I'm following the default format for boot animations). I have no idea why for some people it shows a black screen after the first loop, sorry...

Bummer.....I have the same issue as the others.....this is by far my favorite animation too......%$#@.....

I wonder if it's a custom ROM thing. I'm on Carbon and it animates perfectly when previewing in BootBox.......

I am on Stock Rom but rooted. Yes , i still experince the error

[DEV] RGB color balance for the Galaxy S

Due to conflicts between Color Calibration and the camera/video playback overlays, I would recommend not to do these modifications. If it was the case, just restore your nandroid backup.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
I'll try to improve the compatibility with our devices.
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share some knowledge about a discovery I've made today.
Just like a lot of our Galaxy S community members, my screen was way too blueish (temperature "over 9000" kelvin).
However, by googling a few keywords around, I saw that a fix by storm9999 was available for the droid, N1, and even desire xx phones.
Basically I just tried to do the modifications on my Galaxy S with the Darky's 6.0 Gingerbread edition rom. And it works!
Here is a screenshot of the application:
http://img600.imageshack.us/i/uicolor.jpg
Requirements:
- Rooted phone
- Clockworkmod
- An Android 2.2[+] ROM (successfully tested on Darky's 6.0)
Installation:
- Make an nandroid backup just to be safe (français, english)
- Put the under-attached zip and apk files into the root folder of your internal sdcard
- Restart your phone in recovery mode
- Choose "install zip from sdcard", "choose zip from sdcard", and select the "calibrated-signed..." zip file
- Reboot your phone. Note: At first reboot, sim card may not be functional. Just reboot, and the issue should be gone
- Install the "calibrator-5.1" apk file with Astro or else
- Enjoy!
Please if you try this fix with another froyo rom, tell us if it works or not. I'll put a compatibility list here!
ROM compatibility:
- Darky's v6.0 Gingerbread ed. JPX => OK
- Stock JPU with CF-root => OK
Known bugs:
- If calibration is enabled, Spare Parts will crash when Render Settings is opened.
- When you tune your colors, the overlay appears over the sliders, and not over the calibration field at the top
- Camera and video playback lose their overlay
Credits
- Storm9999 for the apk and certificate
- Cyanogen and his team for the source files
- RixKliq for the icon making
- Xenio2000 for the UI improvements
- Supercurio for not integrating his awesome voodoo colorfix in JPU and JPX versions Sans rancune l'ami!

Lol yeah it's a good alternative and don't require recompiled kernel !
Limitation is that it lower the final brightness and reduce the color-resolution (something like 18 or 20 bits depending the adjustment you apply - very rough estimation)
but hey, it works !
Thank you eruur
Just installed, but i noticed no differencies, droid calibrator has red blue and green at 1000 is it ok?
Working in stock JPU with CF-root
but is the color overlay really supposed to appear over the sliders? shouldn't it be covering the calibration field at the top?
looks like this here:

You need to click on "User 1", then tune your colors. If your screen is a little blue, just decrease its value to something like 960.
Then save your settings.
At first I thought it wasn't working too, but if I put my blue value to 500, my screen is all yellow :d So it is actually working
I also recommend to do your calibration with the maximum brightness in order to be accurate!
@supercurio: De rien! lol

Indeed, I've noticed that also. You need to save, quit, and relaunch the calibrator to see the effect on the top field. I will try to fix the overlay position!
Does it make you lose overlays in camera and video player like it used to do before? Ie. is it modified in some way to be more compatible with stock Galaxy Froyo or is it just the unmodified files from stormy?
works with darky's rom 6.0 JPX + speedmod kernel K11C

I think I've posted about that in the original thread quite some time ago and I'm fairly certain I've mentioned this option in some Galaxy S threads either here in Development or in General. But that was most likely sometime in August or September, so it's long forgotten.
I guess it makes sense that the overlays stop working, given that you need to replace the libsurfaceflinger.so for this to work.
Too bad, I was quite excited that someone finally managed to get it to work on stock Galaxy ROM. I'd love to have the option to calibrate my screen to 6500K properly to match my PC screen and I thought someone finally made it possible without the need to use CyanogenMod (not that I have anything against CM, it's just it isn't all that stable/usable just yet).
Anyway, if anybody is interesting in using this even in this state, my screen is pretty close to 6500K when using these settings:
R: 965 G: 740 B: 720
Of course every screen is a bit different and the color temperature of SAMOLED screens changes with time, so no guarantees that this will work for you as well.

Anyway, I'll play with the modified libsurfaceflinger to see if I can come up with something.

Mine is a little different than this one, I guess I was not the first to think that this would make a cool looking boot!!
Edit: I just tried this animation, it does not scale to full 720p. If you want it to fill the screen you must edit the txt file, also seems a little slower than the one I created, although it seems to be a little bit better quality than mine.
Where do you push the sound file to

I have not figured that one out yet. I think it has something to do with the Rom you are using. I thought I read somewhere that it needs to be with-in the framework-res file in order for the sound to play but I am not a developer so I can't say for sure.

*FIXED* Nexus 7 boot animation!!!

Done, thanks to billbard412 for the help...
FIXED Nexus 7 boot animation
So I came across the original nexus 7 boot animation, and have tried many ways to get it to work. Ive changed jpg to png, changed the desc file, 60 fps, 30 fps, 24 fps. Changed compression ratio on bootanimation.zip. Changed image sizes from 400x800 to 720x1280. Nothing is working.
Below is a zip with my failed attemtps, and a video of the animation. I hope someone has the time to help, this has driven me crazy all day.

do not chg to 0 for the loop. the phone will not stop the animation you will boot for ever. I already pre modded it. Change the 1 to a 3 or 4. Use 7zip and only edit the file inside do not extract/rezip

Haven't tried yet but I would like to ask you one thing.
You tried to make animation from video? (let's say YouTube video)
Because if I make animation from rendered video, I always get white flashes between loops.
But if I make my one pictures, from PhotoShop (video which I render to png's, not to video format) - it's o.k.
It's soooo frustrating, can't find any solution.
I saw few posts related to this problem (I'm not the only one) but no answer.
One guy suggested that I should try to set FPS to lower value - but that doesn't help.
I have few animations and I find a way to include sound in it but they all flash white so it's useless....
Tnx mate, I'll try animation

U should keep on trying bro
i used Sony vegas, for converting and rendering. and boot animation factory for making the zip file.
yeah i used a video file. It took me some hours ( half day) to make this work. i got many errors while making this one.
i got white flashed & some times no boot animation just black screen.
i failed in adding sound, i have to learn more. and there are few steps that has to be done correctly, when converting a video to boot animation and to play sound while boot.
now i know to do that , this boot animation is the result.
i intend to learn from someone, if they have helping mentality.
btw fps settings changes the speed in which the animation runs. depending on the animation we can increase the fps.
in this im using 20. if u use 30 the animation will be faster. thats what i understood from researching. correct me if im wrong.
next is adding sound and text animations on video etc, thats what im thinking to do next.
Have rain sounds?

XS, this is tablet.
For sound you just have to rename mp3 to bootanim.mp3 and put it in a root of bootanimation.zip (and remember to set compression method to storage)
You are right for FPS, that's, of course, how you speed up animation.
Check my animation, I made a few.
