is it only me or has the XDA Forum app been removed from the android market?

It's gone for me, as well. I couldn't find it on my Rezound, my Kindle Fire, my Eris, or my PC. Thankfully, I had it backed up in Titanium Backup. The odd thing is that if I restore it with TiBu, the app will show as having an available update and the update will download and install normally. Even after the app is installed and updated, it still fails to show in the market if I do a search.
me too, tried to get it on my new Note, but couldn't find it so have to use browser.
It's been removed for the moment...

I couldn't even find it through my PC's browser. I went to play.google.com and searched but all that comes up is something called "XDA-Developers TV".

Please also make it available on an alternate market.
I bought XDA Premium before Sep. 2011 but since then Google has changed their checkout method so I can no longer buy any applications from the Market.
I don't think prohibiting users from countries based on Google's bizarre policy is consistent with the XDA spirit.
yeah I went to manually find the APK, and all I could get was the premium version. I'm not trying to warez it, lol, so I just said forget it

I actually see no reason why the free apk couldn't just be hosted directly from this site, in addition to the market.
So sad :-( I liked the app

Someone else was kind enough to post an answer to the question, so your post was unecessary. Go yell at noobs for posting Qs in the dev forums or something.

I'm the developer of Send It and need someone with an N4 to test the app for me. It works from 2.3+ including on my N7 and Nexus S (both on 4.2) but I'm getting reports of it not working on the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 4, both running 4.2. Hard to fix if I can't reproduce
So does anyone fancy testing the app for me and letting me know definitively if it does or doesn't work? And if not providing a log cat and testing a couple of debug builds so I can fix this issue?

I just really need someone to try to send a file to one of their contacts and see if it works/crashes/says sent but is never recieved/ or something else/ etc.. And if it fails post the logcat so I can see what the issue is.
The logcat tutorial AshonTS linked to above is probably the best you'll find on the grabbing the logcat if you don't already know how to do so.
Really appreciate the offers to test.. this is why I love XDA

Worked fine for me to send an image. It was my N4 sending to a HTC sensation running cm10, probably not the most stringent test considering we are both essentially running the same platform/OS revision but at least it is some more data for you.

Can I ask which version you were using? I uploaded 1.0.5 shortly before you posted which I think may have fixed the 4.2 issue.. also which app were you using to send the image (Gallery?)..
Glad you like the app though mate, slick is exactly what I was aiming for

I was using 1.0.5 and gallery, over the next couple of days I'm sure I'll use it again so I'll let you know if anything comes up.
What does the app add over stock share features in apps and send features in file browsers?
... I'll just try it out.
its an option which appears in those standard sharing menus in any app.. it automatically uploads files you share to your Google drive and sends the download link to the contact you choose

Great stuff thanks guys. I think the bug was actually compatibility with astro for manager which it seems everyone reporting n4 issues was using. Really appreciate the help though guys.

After an exhaustive search I have found zero info on the HTC WATCH app. It gives me a connection error every time I attempt to launch it. I confirmed my login info is correct because I can log in with same credentials on my old HTC Amaze and the app fires right up. Can anyone share a working apk? Ideas are welcome. Thank you in advance.

Have you tried to extract the apk from any ROM on xda ? maybe if you replace it by any HTC Watch apk from any ROM it will work, but make sure it's the same base.

Thank you for the reply. I am surprised by how little information is available online about this apk. I cannot find a recent all for this app. I'm assuming it works fine for yourself?

It is not available where I live (Jordan) so I have no idea. But I am assuming it has to do with your device and HTC account.
Maybe a factory reset, or replacing the HTC Watch apk by extracting it from any ROM and pushing it into the system will help.
Also try to erase HTC Watch data from the app settings then open it again and sign in maybe that will work.
I don't think it works when rooted.
Hide root and try again?
If you are rooted it will work. Mine stock tmobile as well as my wifes it didn't work now that I am now rooted and installed the HTC dev ruu it works fine. My wifes still stock does not work.

I appreciate the link. I downloaded it and my phone prevented it from installing...whether as an update or as a fresh install. Kind of confused by this one. Seems like a very random glitch to have since every single little thing on this phone/rom works perfectly.

It's a system app, you can't just install it like a 3rd party app ... Move it into system/app using Root Explorer or similar, change permissions to rw - r - r and reboot.

I just did this exactly and when I rebooted the app didn't show up in app list. Also tried installing while in the system/app directory and refuses to install. Permissions are set properly.

Have you tried flashing it in recovery? In a flashable zip.

I flashed it, rebooted and gave it a try. It showed me the license agreement, then showed that it was downloading something else, then got the same....CONNECTION ERROR. Same exact process and result as prior attempts. Very strange stuff. Thank you for the zip though. :good:

Maybe the file has other dependencies then, other files perhaps ... Can't say I know much about it because it, among others, get removed from my ROM at source.
sorry, was just curious, What is the HTC watch app? Does it provide the TV listings for the IR blaster?

It's a system app that lets you watch movies, the same as the one that comes with stock Google ROMs. You get Thor free with it on the One and you can buy or rent other movies.
I have a couple movies I purchased when I had my HTC Amaze using HTC Watch. I liked the service. They got good movies pretty quick and the pricing was decent. I was able to play them via MHL onto the big screen and it looked great.
Even more strange is that I just tried logging in on a stock HTC One and the same error occurred. I went back to my HTC Amaze and was able to log right in under the same credentials without issue. I even checked (via Amaze) the five device limit on the Watch account and their is only one device registered. (Amaze) I have four empty slots available to register other devices. Crazy.
What Rom are you trying it on. I know on the developer edition it works. Tmobile it doesn't. I am waiting to receive the update from tmobile to see if that fixes it.

Latest version of Android Revolution.
So I finally installed the newest OTA from tmobile onto my wifes phone and guess what. There is no more HTC watch. It was pulled.

I've been trying a lot of roms out and im seeing New roms I wanna try. But I 've noticed unless they are Google based they don't come with HTC one tv app. I use this app everyday since no universal remote has a code for my tv but HTC one does. Is there a way to keep this app or download after I switch roms that don't have it???
The only shot at an aosp based ROM with it would be unsense ROM. Only way it has it cause its sense and aosp

Are we talking about the htc ir app or the sense tv home app? Either way i cant get either to work on my stock personally rooted ota 4.4.2, and the apps were no longer there after the ota. Wonder why it works on his.
I am also on santod 4.4.2. Mine works fine except for one thing. I flashed the debloated stock version. The only problem i have with it is it is not placing reminders on my calendar like it did before i flashed. That's what i am trying do now, find out if anyone else is having same problem.

debloated means he took out something that was needed to make the link. i would suggest going with a different rom if you want to use HTC tv and calender.

Yes, I had thought of that myself. Might try out the full stock and see if it works in it. I just got the One about a month ago. Had a Galaxy Nexus for two years before that. I am really liking the One.
I noticed that my last post was my first post since I joined in 2010. Guess I need to speak up more. OH Boy, look at my post count skyrocket!!

I'm not sure that anyone posted that issue in the thread for the stock debloated. As far as I know the HTC TV app is in all of santod's ROMs that it will work with. I can't think of any I flashed that were sense based and didn't have it.

It is in the ROM and I have it working. But it will not update my calendar with new shows for the week like it was doing before I flashed it. I was on stock from the box. I had to use firewater to get s-Off, unlock bootloader on my way to root. This was first ROM I flashed since getting the One. Also first experience with Sense.
I cannot post in the ROM's thread because I only have a total of 3. Need a minimum of 10 for a development thread.

Alrighty, I found the problem in that I did not clear data for the app after flashing the new ROM. I thought it had just synced from the cloud. Not that I remembered signing up for anything HTC. Cleared data and now i just have to go thru and re add the shows and it will fill out my calendar with reminders of the new episodes.
Is anyine else having problems accessing XDA on via the Tapatalk app on Android?
It was working yesterday morning and stopped yesterday evening.
I cann access other forums via the app....
Are admin aware of this?

Strange. It will not load the forum for me.
I'm now using the XDA one app. Which is good.

Ah, that makes sense. That's exactly why I have AutoCorrect off 100% of the time!
I see this every time I go to XDA in Tapatalk. This is just one of many issues/complaints I have with the latest update.

I see all my usual forums okay. And can browse our search for new ones. But how do I get tapatalk to show me all the blog posts? It used to be an option in the drop down selection box but that's now all the forums within xda instead.
I've been fumbling around with it since the update. Tried to install my backuped version but that was a no go for some reason, it would just hang.
It seems to me to be a problem since the last update. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Frustrated!
I've got the same problem : no access to XDA since 2 days.
I've tried to delete and recreate the forum into tapa. But no way.
And then, I've noticed that there was an app update, from 4.6.2 to 4.10.1 on the market, with probably change of Google Play signature.
BTW, that would explain I didn't receive any notification for this app update.
So I installed the new one (new design, new UI) and it works now.
Strange behaviour from Tapatalk company...

Already tried those solutions but no way. Tapatalk guys definitly changed their app. So uninstall and reinstall is a working method (at least for me) [emoji3] .
I have a few general questions regarding Tapatalk and this looks like the perfect forum to ask (so I'll just ask)...
I participate on a lot of different forums (as most of you do as well) and right now I'm just using the stock browser that comes with CM11/M12 on my GT-P5113 and see a lot of signatures advertising "Send from OnePlus One using Tapatalk".
So, my questions are:
Is reading/posting easier/better using Tapatalk (better than using the stock tablet browser in desktop mode)?
Is Tapatalk supported by all forums (forum software) and how do you know?
If Tapatalk is not supported by a forum (forum software) what do you use to read/post messages?
