Problem with RUU - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Hello! hopefully someone can help me I stand
I commented:
I have a Verizon One with hboot 1.54, yesterday I managed to unlock the bootloader and make S-off, then I take on the task of putting the HTC_304 cid (Spain) and try to load an official stock RUU rom but always gave me Error 158 , then switch to Super-CID but I continued to set the same mistake and then make the decision to install recovery and change to HBOOT 1.44, I download the latest methyl Revolution and by recovery, made the installation complete without errors, but me no system load.
The bootloader and fastboot also enter without problem and recovery, but I can not enter recovery to sd, tells me that he can not mount and went back to try to load the rom by RUU but I always get the same error (158).
Hopefully someone can help me and do not know what else to do

Well, you need to use only Verizon firmwares for this device. You can't load an ruu from another device. It won't match up and therefore either not work or worse, brick your phone.

then to have put the Super-Cid and 1.44 hboot not give me the freedom to put a European rom?
to be so I have to go back to hboot 1.54 and install an official RUU from Verizon?

The only way I can think is metiante cmd roms charge with all-in-one, through the RUU, but I always get this error.

I've been trying to get this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2485319 (Deodexed Full ROM version: 1.10.605.10)
I do it with the application all-in-one and the factory ruu flash zip option, correct?

maybe try with the new hboot posted by rumrunner?
I believe it is ENG hboot
Once superCID you should be able to flash any RUU..
are you doing it using FastbootRUU??

How do I get it all the way back to stock -- no root, no s-off, etc.

I tried sending my Incredible to Amazon, but they sent it back saying they couldn't get the data to reset.
How do I get my Incredible all the way back to stock? It currently has s-off. I want it unrooted, s-on, just like it's new.
Thanks!
You'll need to flash a stock ROM (known as an RUU). You'll have to Google around to find it (you might be able to find some on here even). You'll then need to rename it to something like PG05IMG.zip (the download page for the RUU file should specify which filename to use).
You'll put the RUU .zip file in the root of your SD card and then you'll boot into HBOOT where it should automatically flash it.
I've never done it before, so there might be someone else who can help you even more. This will just get you started.
Does this seem like what I should do?

Yes, that is the proper step. If that link does not work for whatever reason. Download the RUU from this website:
pvillecomp.com
I am not sure about how to go s-on. I do not want to provide false information about that. I am sure someone can explain that step.
Before using the steps found on the link above, you will need to flash the s-on patch found on the unrevoked forever site. If you ruu before going s-on, you would have to flash clockwork recovery again, apply the s-on patch, and then run the ruu again. Also after you finish the ruu i would do a factory reset and wipe the emmc and sdcard.
Thank you, I appreciate the information cmlusco

[Q] Trying to return to Stock Rom but...

I seem to be having a problem flashing the stock + rooted rom.
I get the error message..
e:cant open sdcard/dhd_wwe_3.12.405.1............zip (bad) installation aborted.
I have also tried a stock unrooted copy which didnt work either. I am pretty sure i use to be able to flash it(many months ago).
I believe i can still flash sum custom roms (just formated the newest leedroid rom) but stock is being a ***** to install.
I want to go back to stock as I feel my gps was more accurate under stock
Any ideas?
Im using a unbranded UK desire HD with AHK Clockwork Recovery v4.0.1.4. i did wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and even wipe Dalvik
Any questions just ask
You don't have to flash stock rom from recovery like custom roms or nandroid backups.
Run stock RUU.exe or flash the rom from bootloader if in PG58IMG format if you want to go back to complete stock rom.
You can download RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.405.1_R_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_233505_signed form HERE

Hey mate, maybe u can help me out a little. I need to flash back to stock, vodafone au branded for warrenty purposes. if I used above would I still be rooted and s-off, and can all the Vodafone bloat be flashed afterwards. just weighing if the above link is any easy option then flashing rom, then radio, reverse s off, root, etc etc etc.....etc.?
The link I gave is for stock unbranded WWE (world wide english) RUU. No idea where you can find Vodafone AU, sorry.
Running the RUU.exe will unroot your device but s-off remains. Also it deletes all apps and data.
Conclusion: it will be as out of the box but S-Off.

If so, there s your problem.
Just select "install from zip" instead. Shouldn't matter if the file has been renamed.
Hopefully this is a quick fix for you. Let us know, because if you can get to bootloader and recovery, there is a fix.

Please answer these questions in order to summarize the situation:
1) are you S-ON or S-OFF?
2) What your bootloader says and what version is is (there is a **locked** on top?)
3) have you tried the hack kit or not?
4) do you have stock recovery or CWM/4EXT?
5) is your phone branded Vodafone or is just your carrier which is Vodafone?
6) what was your original RUU and what RUU did you find. RUU.exe should be run from a computer not flashed by recovery.

Hi, are u asking me? If so here u go.
1- S-OFF. Don't think I'm eng s-off.
2- boot loader reads as follows:
Ace PVT Ship S-off RL
Hboot 0.85.0024
Microphone 0438
Radio 26.10.04.03_m
eMMC-boot
3- advance ace hack kit is how I rooted my device...?
4- clockwork mod recovery touch 5.8
5- Vodafone branded phone originally, with all the crap
6-original ruu unknown? But the rom I can't install is titled:
Ace_Vodafone_AU_1.32.178.5_Radio_12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M_BACKUP
Its a zip file which I've tried to install from recovery as a zip(error message 'install aborted')and also restore after extracting to cwm/backup (error message md5 mismatch)
I'm completely lost.
Install 4ext recovery, if I'm not mistaken it has an option to ignore md5 mismatches.
Edit - just checked and it does, its in the recovery settings

Alright, well I installed 4ext, disabled md5 check. All that happened when it restored (finished in only 3secs)was rebooted with a freshly wiped copy of the rom I've been using-cookies & cream ics.
It seems like the file is empty, though I've explored its content and all seems intact. Its about the 5th download of the rom too, so unlikely a bad dl. Someone installed it successfully by deleting nandroid. md5, then using the md5 sum recreate it as md5sum*img > nandroid.md5... Don't know how or what this means
I believe they are talking about this. In the app go to recovery >manage backups. Choose the file then click correct md5 sum

-Alright well I got the md5 sorted, and installed the rom. Now I have a blackscreen... It appears nothing has changed. the green htc letters slowly fade to white lines then to black, thats about it. Still got 4ext so I can restore, but this is a pain in the rectum.
I'm restoring it again and it reads its restoring: boot system data cache. In the process, .android_secure not found...Should be alright?
That should be fine. Not sure why its not working and others got it to work

I thought about that. You won't be able to fully be on your stock firmware but it might be close enough for warranty purposes.
So here is my thinking. Flash the 1.32.405 ruu. Next flash your stock radio that came with your carrier via a pd98. Then root with visionary and use jkoljos easy radio tool to flash back your cid and get back son. Finally unroot with visionary and remove any traces of root like super user. I think that's as close as well be able to get if the nandroid doesn't work

That is possile if the RUU is older than the one currently on your phone. If this is not the case, try to flash the RUU via the program and from hboot.

Obviously , since I have Cyanogenmod 10 installed the RUU version is older. CM10 is somehow preventing the RUU to execute correctly,
I have tried to run the RUU with Hboot but it didn't recognized the phone.

Sorry I will be clearer. The ruu has two thing before start. It evaluates your cid and hboot version. If you had (my example here) a 2.22 stock and you want to flash the ruu of the 2.02 version it will not work because the hboot in your phone is newer. This is a security measurement for you not to be able to downgrade your os.
Even more, ruu needs stock recovery, stock kernel, and the phone to be either "locked" or "relocked". And more, if you has custom is on the phone that time, the ruu will only work from fastboot usb mode.
It is a joke tough that in these phones unlock and custom os is easily achivable, while going back to stock is like a pain in the ass.

and I have noticed that NO MATTER I CHANGE...IT WONT CHANGE THIS VERSION... OMG
tks man!
You need to relock your bootloader (if you haven't already) and run THIS RUU.
The problem is that the version of software you're running (2.17) is newer than the RUU you're trying to install (1.29). you can't revert to an older RUU. you can only flash the same version or newer.
Once you've flashed the RUU, you'll be able to download and install the JB OTA.

You don't need stock recovery to flash an RUU. You just need a locked or relocked bootloader, and a less or equal main-version.
Once you run an RUU, you will have stock everything(including recovery) and will be able to install whatever OTAs are available.
Well I am currently running Team Venom's Viper but I have HBOOT 1.31. My device's CID is HTC_J15.
I have checked the list of RUUs but unfortunately all of them are older than the version I need, which has to be 3+.
Does anybody know if there's an RUU available for my device? It is an ubranded WWE version, 401 if I remember correctly.

In my experience the 2.17.707.xx RUU Asia WWE does not work properly. It does its thing installing everything, relocks the bootloader but somehow it does not reflash the recovery. After 4 hours trying everything under the sun, I gave up and looked for a nandroid of 2.17 for CID_044 and restored from that, reflashed stock recovery and went to town with the OTA.
That's very strange, no such problem when I did the same thing. You'd think it would throw an error or something if a component of the image failed to flash.
Glad you managed to figure it out!
Did you run it when your bootloader was unlocked? Maybe that's the problem? I ran it with the bootloader relocked and didn't ahve any problems. I was under the impression you couldn't run an RUU with an unlocked bootloader, but haven't tried it myself.
Refer custom to stock thread posted earlier. Go through step by step procedure. It will help u to be on stock Rom. After that flash any Rom suitable to your CID only

Only Reboot the phone...wait to initialize completely, then reboot again, when came a little update about 1.25mb...installed and reboot...after that...JB update installed correctly.
If someone else needs...Someone like me who relocked the phone waiting for JB and Has problems
1. Unlock Phone
2. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (from nandroid 2.17)
3. fastboot flash boot boot.img (from nandroid 2.17)
4. fastboot erase cache
5. restart bootloader (I like to do this way)
6. Install RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.17.707.3_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_278245_signed on windows
7. Wait to boot completely, then restart phone.
8. Update Software ...a little update came before JB. (about 1.25mb)
9 Reboot phone.
10. Update Software... finally to JB.
Thanks guys!

First you need to flash the froyo radio thru hboot, and then a custom recovery if you already went to stock. Then flash the s-on patch thru recobery, then do the latest ruu thru hboot. That will leave you s-on and fully stock.
can you give me a url for a radio only hboot type zip?
the phone is running ics plus and is s-off.
the hboot & radio is ics the rom is ICS+,
recovery is CWM.
a lot of the very old radios and other custom things were on
mediafire and unreachable. The referenced threads return
404 errors.
I should then hboot flash that, then fastboot flash cwm to recovery
flash the s-on.zip, then flash the s-on zip.then flash the final full
ruu zip in hboot to reset to a stock version that VZW wont give
me headaches over..the last official ICS ruu zip should be fine.
I'm guessing if I can find an RUU zip for ICS, that flashing the
s-on.zip in recovery, then flashing the ICS RUU zip (PB31IMG.zip)
in hboot, should leave the phone s-on, locked, stock ICS everything,
which VZW should be happy with since the RMA issue is hardware
related.
I don't know where to find that (ICS RUU zip) either though
thanks

the phone is running ics plus and is s-off.
the hboot & radio is ics the rom is ICS+,
recovery is CWM.
a lot of the very old radios and other custom things were on
mediafire and unreachable.

There is no official ics for the incredible only gingerbread. We never got an update to ics.
OK so I need a GB RUU zip?
My intent is to restore the phone for warranty return.
Currently its s-off, locked, ICS Plus ROM, CWM recovery.
I do have the unrevoked-forever-s-on.zip file and a
PB31IMG.zip RUU file (not sure what version of
the OS its for though).,
A listing of it is attached.
its android-info.txt reads:
modelid: PB3120000
cidnum: VZW__001
mainver: 4.08.605.2
hbootpreupdate:3

Looks like froyo. Here is exactly what you need to do.
Flash the froyo radio http://dinc.does-it.net/Radios/2.15.00.07.28/PB31IMG.zip, thru hboot.
Then flash cwm http://dinc.does-it.net/Recoveries/CWM_5.0.2.0/PB31IMG.zip, thru hboot.
Then enter recovery and flash this s-on patch http://downloads.unrevoked.com/forever/current/unrevoked-forever-son.zip.
Then flash the latest ruu we have 4.08.605.15 http://dinc.does-it.net/Stock_Images/4.08.605.15/PB31IMG.zip, thru hboot.
Then you will be s-on, unrooted, and complete stock.
perfect thanks
I got the parts ... placed on a microsd
Worked perfectly

The latest ota won't download. Is this normal if the phone is not activated anymore?

No there is no ruu for 605.19 yet. Use to be a guy named football who use to get us all of our ruu's, but i think he moved on or can no longer get them.
You can try taking this update file http://dinc.does-it.net/Stock_Image...WE_4.08.605.19-4.08.605.15_release_305224.zip, renaming it update.zip and placing it in your sdcard in no folders. Then boot to hboot, it might find the file and say update gift and install it.
If it dosent find it select recovery, then hold vol up and power till a menu appears. Then select install update.zip.
If that still dosent work you may need to do a factory reset from hboot first, and then try again right after with the update.zip
OK I wanted to re-root my incredible. I can't find the unrevoked modified driver. It has been crossed out and getting 404 not found. I wanted to know if anyone knows how I can downgrade to froyo so I can s-off my incredible again. Or is there any Macintosh walkthrough? Mac is my main desktop if I use windows it would be with virtual machine.

Here is the unrevoked driver if you still want it http://dinc.does-it.net/Unrevoked/UnrEVOked_Modified_Usb_Driver.zip
