I have been in contact with http://theglass-m.com
Here is the response I got "Xperia Z1 will have front and back tempered glass protector. Z1 glass protector is in production. If any news for Xperia Z1 or other. I will update you"
This is good news as the xperia z protectors were top notch. I will report back when I hear more news.
UPDATE
Just received this email
We have launched Xperia Z1 Tempered Glass Screen Protector. (Nano Slim 0.2mm)
http://theglass-m.com/products/glass-m-premium-tempered-glass-screen-protector-for-sony-xperia-z1
Sadly its only for the front right now but still 0.2 mm WOW
Ordered and will review
So Here is the review. Shipping took about 5 business days to receive. The packaging is nice and premium feeling. The glass is thin indeed, with a nice smooth feel to it. I previously had the Nikklin tempered glass on. They are both nice products but I would say the Glass-m has a better fit. It seems to cover a little more of the screen.
As with the Nikklin it fits fine in my charging dock. I have not yet received the back sheet of glass but I'm pretty sure once that is installed it will no longer fit in the dock. It seems to do a good job with fingerprints but only time will tell how long that lasts.
I will post pics once I get a chance
As promised here are some pics.
The first ones are the nikklin which I liked but the anti finger print coating wore off.
Then I removed the ASF
Then I applied the glas-m
The website says is't made of "Corning® Gorilla® Glass"
And on the product package it's says hardness of 9H.
But is Gorilla Glass 9H of not?
Gorilla Glass is reported to have a hardness of 7 (some say it is as high as 9. I've reached out to Corning for their "official" value, since they only use Vickers to measure hardness) in the Mohs scale, so any material with higher hardness, such as sand, diamond, or other minerals , will scratch your screen.

Sand have a hardness of 7H, so will sand scratch the glass?

I find all tempered glass can be scratched. I had them on my xperia Z for two moths and I would say they are very scratch resistant. I didn't have any noticeable scratches on them. I fond the back protect to take more of a beating since its always being placed on different surfaces. I like the Glass M because its cheap and fits good and yet the quality is equal to Spigen Glass-t. As for sand I would say it still a possibility to scratch the screen protector but stop rolling around on the beach with the phone in your pocket and you should be ok lol

Agree, almost tempered glass protectors are almost same,
Diamond (10H) -> Sapphire (9H) -> Tempered glass,
almost they wrote 8-9H, fact;
some wrote 9H, in fact maybe 8.x, just buy rounded tricks or for Ads.
Sands has random 2-10H, so, under sands, no tempered glass can avoid scratches yet.
Sapphire and Diamond can scratch Tempered Glass easily,
however, Tempered Glass cannot hurt Sapphire or Diamond.
(This is my understanding so far, any comments are welcome!)

Glass and sand are both at about 7H on the Mohs scale, sapphire is 9, diamond is 10.
These screen protectors use the pencil hardness scale in which 9H is about equal to 6.5~7 on the Mohs scale.
Oh~ Thanks!

yes I've just ordered one, came to $21.99 USD bit more than I wanted to pay but very thin.
I ordered the brando tempered glass screen protector and took off the default one.
My question is, is my phone still waterproof or will the screen protector come off underwater?

I'll get this screen protector for my new xiaomi mi3, so thank for your review, you helped me to made my choice
This looks amazing!
I found one on eBay for 12€.. I might buy it.
Is there any downside from using this screen protector?
Thanks a lot.

Thank you for your amazing review!
No real downside other than you really have to do your best to apply it perfectly the first time. Very difficult to remove and reapply without getting it dirty.
Love how it feels, so smooth. I wish I got it sooner, before the Sony screen protector started getting scratches. Never using a film protector ever again.
My C6906 came with a nilkin glass screen protector when I bought it off of swappa, and using the way I typically apply screen protectors, using tape like a hinge to perfectly position the protector with, application took less than a minute. My only complaint is that the glass is not oleophobic, or at least isn't as oleophobic as I would like, although it doesn't get fingerprints all that easily, and a few wipes on your jeans should take care of it just fine.
i bought this screen protector for CNY 58 (about USD 9.5). Much better than any PET films I have seen.

Only downside is that come with with a PET back protector and I found the anti-fingerprint coating wore off faster than most, it's also is a bit small and doesn't cover the whole front wish it was more precise fitting.
If you apply this screen protector the Z1 will do not fit on your dock DK31.

You can safely place it over the Sony's protector. That's what I did in the video and it stayed on since than no problem.

It's recommended to do not remove the anti-shatter Sony protector so you can apply this Nillkin on it.

Either way. It's up to you to remove the shatter film or put the t-glass on top of it
its wicked man this is perfect feeling just like my s3 with this on also so smoooooth
I have this Nillkin SP and it's the best SP I ever had, on all devices.
Perfectly slik and ultra durable...
I have it few months and not a one scratch.
But...
I bought front and back and I'm kinda disappointed because only front is real tempered glass, back one is just a plain SP...
It would be awesome to have back tempered glass as well.
And yeah...I applied it on top of Sony SP (had few little scratches on it) and it's perfect - can't see a single old scratch...

I installed a Nillkin tempered glass a month ago. Recently, the screen just cracked on its own. No impact or poor handling whatsoever. I guess it is just poor quality product in premium packing. Really disappointed that such bad quality can come from Nilkin .....

I have been using Nillkin for a while now and have never experiences such problem. My first protector cracked after I dropped the phone face down on my desk. Now I am on my second one and it functions properly. Maybe you didn't align yours properly or you had a faulty unit.

hmm that's cheaper than the spigen and some others. i may order that and give the rhino sheild that's yet to arrive to my brother, being he's destroyed several phone screens.
#1 reason I don't use glass protectors is because they're hard and trapped dust can't be removed easily. This might actually make me switch to glass in the future. Too bad I already purchased a 6-pack of matte SP's for my N5 which will last me till I dispose of the phone.

I get it but glass make the phone feel so nice
Im hoping someone does a video comparison of the tru glass versus the spigen nano slim. The spigen is 0.23 mm and the truglass is 0.25mm. However I do not believe the spigen protector is flexible like the truglass. I'm sure that helps make it shatterproof if it truly is glass. Because it is soo flexible it makes me think its plastic and not glass. They do have flexible glass screens on phones nowadays but it is technology that is just hitting the market so I would suspect if this were truly glass and this flexible it would cost more than the spigen but it is cheaper !!
The rounded spigen nano is still not out yet so there is still some time for people to get this one and test it out.....cant wait to see the results. One more major thing I'm hoping to get with either one of these glass screen protectors is true smudge proof/oil resistance. That is the most important feature to me...so which ever one is more oleophobic is the one I want.

By that logic, the gorilla glass screens used on all phones and tablets costs $20+ to make? That's more than the cost of the processors in our devices.

oh my bad I haven't used a screen protector in about 5 years. But 2 weeks into having my HTC One I got 2 huge scratches in the center of the screen. I hate screen protectors, because I love the natural feel of my screen. but when I get my Nexus 5 I'm definitely getting a glass screen protector. I presume these screen protectors work well with their cases.

It moved a little bit and had some flex to it. It definitely is a rigid piece of glass though. I think it flexes more because of the thinness of the glass piece.

OK guys so I placed this Tru Glass protector and it is awesome, I had a SPIGEN Glass TR on my phone before I put this one (glass tr is the one that has the issues), its super slim just like the Glass Nano TR, it feels great to the touch feels just like the naked screen.
It was easy to put on no bubbles or anything like that.
So I really recommend this protector its awesome, its cheaper than the SPIGEN protectors and in my own opinion its as high quality as the SPIGEN brand.

Hello! Nillkin is already up to date with glass and case, just let know:
Frosted shield case:
http://nillkin.org/smartphones-acce...-9-accessories/nillkin-huawei-honor-9-frosted
H glass (0.33mm, flat edges)
http://nillkin.org/smartphones-acce...-honor-9-accessories/nillkin-huawei-honor-9-h
H+ Pro glass (0.2mm, 2.5D edges)
http://nillkin.org/smartphones-acce...or-9-accessories/nillkin-huawei-honor-9-h-pro
Bought h+ pro. Review as received
Any news on the screen protectors? Is there any edge-to-edge apart those with adhesive only on the frame?
Yeah, this glass is a piece of sh*t. Don't buy it. Got it last week and it's not anywhere close to edge-to-edge, you will have a 2mm gap on each side and it doesn't cover the whole display. Save your money and order a Nillkin which should be exactly the size of the screen. I've ordered it online and the same day returned it in Olomouc.
The one in the first post, the H+ on Ali.
Yes, it is, but it should be worth the waiting. And I've ordered it a week before Honor 9 was available in EU, so it should be here this week.
Man you just got the one I've returned, the man in Olomouc wrote the Honor 9 on the top, lol.
I have ordered

Just got this case http://nillkin.org/smartphones-accessories/huawei-phones-accessories/huawei-honor-9-accessories/nillkin-huawei-honor-9-frosted and this protective film http://nillkin.org/smartphones-accessories/huawei-phones-accessories/huawei-honor-9-accessories/nillkin-huawei-honor-9-1 for free with the case; ordered on Ali.
Super Frosted case (black) - very nice case, really sturdy BUT I have few complaints - it's kinda slippery on the sides but this will go away after some use maybe and the bottom side around jack, charging port and speaker is a bit sharp and if you're holding the phone with the little finger on the bottom it't not really comfortable. Besides that it's really nice case for the price but I expected a bit more. But once again for the price it's more than OK.
Super Clear Protective Film - in terms of size the best screen protector I've had. Obviously it's not edge-to-edge but it does cover the whole display with gaps on the edges BUT the display is fully protected so thumbs up for me. In terms of "anti-fingerprint" it's nowhere close to the display or the back but is much better than some noname protector I've got with TPU case. Overall very nice screen protector for free but I'm still waiting for the Nillkin H+ tempered glass and some noname edge-to-edge tempered glass.
Once I get my hands on the H+ I will post the review.

Well scratch protection should be "good enough" but the plastic film will scratch very easily and H+ tempered glass should be much better as tempered glass is always more durable.

You're welcome. The plastic screen will get you through the time until the tempered glass is delivered and it's really nice but I always prefer tempered glass.
I have received my Nilkin super premium Glass Protector. It sucks. It doesn't even cover the whole screen area... I ordered a 1$ one from Aliexpress China which is EXACTLY the same. Same dimensions, same material, same packaging except the nilkin box... Really dissapointing.

Yeah got the same one with the so called arc edges. As Mentioned when you put it over the screen there is like a gap on each side of the screen left and right which it not covers. Looks and feels like cr*p

Hello,
Has anyone found already a good screenprotector?
I only found negative reviews on the internet. Most screenprotectors had about 2mm gaps on the sides. Even nillkin disappointed me.
Preferably i would like a 9h+screenprotector but if that is not possible i would settle for less.
Thanks in advance.

There will always be a gap because of the 2.5D glass unless you get an Ultimate Shield-like screenprotector. But honestly, it doesn't look that good.

I got my money back but the sneller mentioned that they send a 'gap free' kit with it. So I ordered again with a comment to include this kit. It basically is a kind of oil that you rub under the sides. The air slowly moves away and the sides become air-free.
The result is a perfectly fitting tempered glass. Not like the one from Nilkin missing 2mm sides. I can't post photo's yet on xda. So if you want pictures, send me a pm.
Considering the price, I bought mine for 7 dollars.

I have cafele glass, it is similar to mofi. The white edge remover liquid is great, but you need to use it time to time again (for me it last ~2 weeks, after the air in the edges come back again).
9h is about 99.99999% straight b.s. from these companies. If that was the case, there should be nothing short of diamonds that cut the glass. The 9h they talk about on these items refer to approximately a 5 or 6 on the hardness scale, which is just under what many flagships phones come in at... I would recommend finding a screen protector that simply fits well..
It's all false marketing words. Explosion proof, bullet proof and other mumbo jumbo claims just to make cheap things appear expensive.

9h refers to pencil hardness scale not Mohs scale. So it's more of a bait rather than bs.

It's B.S.
Why talk about pencil hardness for a screen protector, compared to Moh's scale of hardness which is frequently used to test the hardness of screens.
I mean look at this ??
9H Glass, Shatter proof, HD TRANSPARENT GLASS, protects your eyes. ??
But get this- IT'S PLASTIC. ????

There's Wolf-Wilburn scratch resistance test and it's basically moving pencils of different hardness over the surface with fixed force/angle and 9H is the hardness of hardest pencil used in this test. In fact it usually takes way more than 9H pencil to scratch screen protector like that but it's tricking people into thinking that "9" means 9 in Moh's scale. I know it's ****ty to trick people like that and I don't approve this as well but you really can't tell that they (manufacturers) lie about 9H hardness, they just don't clarify what does that mean to make more people buy their products (which is just as ****ty as lying IMO). Just spreading the word to let people know about that.

The same way Samsung had that 50$ "sapphire glass" screen protector, or iPhones "sapphire glass" as someone else cited, bullet proof, explosion proof ?? I hope some of these guys get sued.
Nuclear fission proof, black hole proof, end of universe proof.... ???
Motorola has a shatter proof display.
It was made from plastic.

The best is to take a proper care of your phone and not to drop it. And use a good protective case whenever possible.

Ouch... that's sooo ugly !
you'll need curved glass at the edges to get 100% fit. manufacturing that wouldn't be cheap.
how about spigen tempered glass?
did anyone buy that?

Nillkin Amazing H+ Pro tempered glass screen protector for Huawei Mate 20 X
I am using it on my mate 20X now. As usual, nillkin produces good quality glass screen protector at a reasonable price

Why would you need this if screen isn't curved? I have a Pixel 2 XL. And liquid adhesive is a expensive and a pain to install.
Tempered glass
Is the Nilkins tempered glass compatible with the clear case provided in the box?
I have installed 2 tempered glass and both will have air bubles when used together with clear case provided in the box

That is a plastic screen protector, most people install glass to protect their phone.

I removed mine to install glass. Better protection.
Yea! You can install glass over it. I did it on my first glass screen protector but the screen is not as clear to install glass alone.

Expensive, yes. I find easy to install though and while it has more steps it is far easier to get a perfect type fit, in the end. Regular temp glass lifts off, gets stuff under the edges, and is prone to that oil slick effect - the liquid adhere types solve those issues and aside from better fit/feel they last longer.
Hmm seeing as the Mate 20X screen is mostly flat and a little curve at the extreme edge (similar to iphones), is there any decent full coverage (those with the black borders) tempered glass for it?
I've seen a few at the shops but when i test fit them over my screen i can see that the black border covers some of the pixels of the screen, making it look like "surrounded" or "covered". like if you were to view an old website (where they put absolutely no padding at all) the left and the right side of the text will be cut off (Eg, the first letter "A", probably the left leg will be cut off)
This is also a problem I noticed with my iPhone X, most full coverage tempered glass being sold have their black borders a little too thick and will "eat" into the screen when applied, so far the only tempered glass i know of that has black borders and not exhibit this issue is the one by spigen (google for pics), their black border is thin enough that it does not interfere with the screen.
Wondering if such a product exists for the Mate 20 X?
I have the black border Tempered Glass on my Mate 20 X and also i have used these black borders Tempered glass for my Xiaomi Mi Mix 18K. Yes, it is true, they ,, eat '' a little bit from the screen edges, but i would rather prefer these and have a full coverage rather than the crystal clear ones and have the screen protected like 90%... as those dosen't fit on the entire screen. I don't mind at all the borders... it's only about 2mm , barely notice in everyday use...
So, if you guys want to have full coverage and full protection for the screen, goes for the black borders tempered glass... my honest opinion...

Those only have adhesive around the edges correct? Dot matrix and some rainbow effect, no?
Sent from my HUAWEI EVR-AL00 using XDA Labs
I've currently found one (google hoda mate 20 x tempered glass, I can't post links), 1st or second result, the black borders seem to be rather thinner, might want to order one to test but its about $20

That's true, rainbow effect and matrix, but i don't mind at all, is better to protect the entire screen rather than just 90% of the surface...
The matrix and rainbow effect is visible only with the screen off, with the screen turned on you can't see these effects...
I would still love to find a Whitestone type adhesive temp glass protector if anyone comes across a good one they would recommend.

You could grab those black border style adhesive at sides type tempered glass and convert it to those full loca glue type, just strip away all the extra film and leave it with the bare glass, then just get those spare glue tubes used in whitestone and apply it yourself, i did the same thing with my XZ2 Compact seeing no one sells a whitestone type full coverage protector so i did it myself
But for now, I am quite happy with my Nillkin H+ tempered glass (especially coming from me, since i am the type that normally prefers those full coverage full adhesive types), yes, it does not go all the way to the edge but as i'm using it with the provided huawei TPU case it fits just fine, more important is to protect the screen and get back that "glass" touch.
