Wont update from eclair...

I have an epic 4g and it is stuck in elair 2.1....when it goes to recovery screen to update it wont says status 7 failed or something to that effect. There is a root bin file playlogo missing. Ive tried to find the factory rom to start over but all the download links are old and missing after they are clicked on. My question is can i root straight to the cyanogenmod 9? Thanks for any help...I have searched for answers but like i said all the threads are extremely old...thanks

Lol =] I feel your pain man. There are new stock images you'll need to flash first. Then you can root with the most recent way there is. If you would rather me do them I offer rooting services remotely via teamviewer 7 or give me a minute and ill provide you with the links necessary.

So if you feel like a lone ranger and want to do this yourself here are the links to the video how to's.
1. Follow this video How to Unroot/Unbrick Epic 4g, this will put you on the latest stock image. Yes it says unroot or unbrick... ignore that. Just follow this. Some pre-requsites would be to make sure you have the drivers for the epic installed, make sure the cable you are using isnt the stock one and is of good quality.
2. Then once finished and on stock use this video to root it.

Help me get from 4.0.4 to stock 4.2 please. I am rooted

Hey folks,
I rooted my GS3 months ago and recently tried downloading the OTA update. The update failed and now I am stuck at 4.0.4 and when I tried to update I have a grayed out continue update option. I don't mind manually flashing the update via usb but I want to stick with just a stock rom just rooted so I can remove the bloatware and use Titanium Backup. Could someone point me in the right direction please?

Try getting a clue and posting in the right section moron.

For the OP, 4.2 is not out just yet. I'm sure you meant 4.1.1 JellyBean. Take a look here, it's a great tutorial to get to the new update for the brand NEW stock GS3 Touchwiz Jellybean. It allows you to keep your root as well:

Also good advice. I'm sure there are a few stock based TW ROMs in the development section that the OP can flash. I wouldn't know as I'm an AOSP head. Anyway, the OTA update probably failed due to the fact that he's rooted and probably removed some bloat. My suggestion to the OP would be to flash any of the JB Touchwiz ROMs in the subforum I mention if that's what he wants. There's also tutorials floating around on how to do that if he's unsure of what to do.
Also, thread reported for movement.

Silly Humans. All you had to do is report that it was in the wrong section and one of us would move it out of Development and into the appropriate section. Oh wait, that is what 1 user did do.
I was going to clean this thread out but instead, I'll leave all the responses so that if anyone comes across this, they'll know what not to do and how not to respond to threads started in the wrong section.

If you want to keep root i would recommend installing root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3.tar.md5 from odin assuming you have a att phone. This is probably the easiest way.

Thank you. I asked for this waaaayyyy back and finally someone stepped up. No need to Odin back anymore when if I get tired of a custom ROM. Does this also flash the modem if someone had MDB and wants to flash this?

No, it does not flash modem. "IF" I have time, and no one else posted it, I can post one later on this weekend. I am pretty busy. Keeping in mind that I have the Verizon S4 and am just trying to help the AT&T Community out when I can. :good:

This is what Im looking for, nice. As far as new modem, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2324667 has a modem list that may work for you.. If you can add the AWS unlocked modem listed there, that would be most excellent!!!

Appreciate your work Scott. Clean rom will be my first custom rom when I get ready to flash again. Taking a break after many years of heavy flashing.
On twrp--can I not just flash loki-doki right after flashing this stock rom--I noted in OP you said "MUST" have auto-loki recovery?

Cool and yes....
But I cant find Loki-Doki and or who to credit it to so I just skipped.
However it works fine. Thats how I tested it on my Verizon edition phone. I flashed ROM then LokiDoki and all was well.

Can someone please give me a link on how to go back to stock because charging my phone has become very slow...it sucks because i read around these threads that people have been having slow charges and as soon as I download a new rom it began..now im pissed shouldve never been greedy and stayed on darkstalker rom...

Are you on JB/KK bootloader? What rom are you running now? What Kernel are you running?
Answer to your question is, if you are on JB, last page of the dev forum has the stock MI7 rom. If you are on KK the stock NB4 rom is there on the second page.
Please don't start a question thread with the title HELP. It gives no insight into what your problem may be and most of us won't look at these threads because they are usually repeat questions. Thanks

md1 modem

Hey guys I am looking for a working link to download this modem.T889UVBMD1 I looked all over internet
But found no working link. Any help would be great. I have latest modem but I don't think it works as well with
Data. Getting drops. I been away from my note 2 for about 7 months but I think this was in issue when I was using it everyday. Any help would be great!!!

Think I have it posted in teshxx's sticky "stock modem/kernel/ROM" thread, in dev section. Just do an advanced search using my name and MD1 in that thread and it should come up. If you can't find it, I'll see if I can come up with a link for you.
