downloaded this fantastic s4 moded weather widget from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2227345
on my HTC Desire
the clock and date works on it but location and weather is not set
and when you press on the ( add city ) on the widget the touch wiz launcher stops (unfortunately touchwiz launcher has been stopped )
and my explanation for that is :
that the flashable zip consists of 1-accuweatherWidgetDaemon.apk
2-accuweatherWidget.apk
3-accuweatherWidget_main.apk
and the only installed APKs are (1&2) and 3 cant be installed
and in my opinion if the proplem is in the framwork.res.apk the (1&2) apks wont be installed but it has been installed
i tried many other zips from many developers but the number 3 cant be installed
I tried another method by copying #3 by (ex file exp or root browser ) but only 9.34 mb from 13.4 mb is copied to system/app i tried many times but the same every time

Did you re-mount the system/app folder with r/w permissions before copying the .apk?

Hi everybody,
I've just installed Revolution HD on my freshly rooted Desire HD and i would like to add the Footprints application.
I've found some apk on the web, tried adb pushing the .apk and .odex to system/app ....
Did someone have a working version (on HD) of the HtcFootprints.apk package and HtcFootprintsWifgets.apk with their odex .. ?
Thanks,
Android revolution is deodexed. You shouldn't be pushing odexed files it will never work.
By the way which base band version are you on. It's probably best to match these as well.

Baseband
Hi dr.m0x,
Thanks for taking time to help..
My baseband is 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.15_M3, S-OFF super CID
The .odex file is the dalvik cache for a particular apk... is it ? If i push the .apk without the .odex will it be rebuild at the first launch ?
Going to try with deleting the .odex files..
I don't understand what the baseband have to do with footprints.apk...
Do not work..
I've found an .apk that gave me an icon in my apps after having pushed the file in system/app/ BUT it force closed when launched.
I'm also running revolution HD Footprints is included in the location widget or did you remove it before install?

Hoooo
Hello Wakers,
Seems that you are right, footprints is embedded in the "locations" application, not as simple to use as the standalone "Footprints" but it do the job... thanks for the info.
Seems that the locations' widget do not alow me to display my footprints... on the desire, not HD, it is easy to click on the widget and add a new footprints.. not with locations.
Bye,
after flashing the new gapps update my weather widget is gone and TB will not let me restore it

it was already in the cm7 rom, it was under the widgets it just said news and weather I had it on my home screen then after I rebooted after the gapps flash it was gone and its no where to be found

If your talking about the stock News and Weather it should be there somewhere. If not reflash the rom and GAPPS or find a different GAPP
Here is my geniewidget.apk, but it's not the stock one. It has a semi-transparent black background instead of the gray matte that you're used to seeing. Use a root level file explorer (Root Explorer, EStrongs, etc) and move it to /system/app and set permissions to rw-r--r-- then reboot. You can do the same with any other geniewidget.apk, including the one from the gapps if you want the original. Or you can just reflash the gapps zip.

Hm, well, I saw it in the market, I think I'll give it a go. But I wanted to not use a 3rd party app And both of the modified MMS I found weren't that good...
No, I can't live with Go SMS. Crappy as hell, bloated with things I don't use. I downloaded a customized app for CM7, I'll give it a go. I got it from here, XDA, but forget the thread and stuff. Just searched for "mms cm7" and found it.
Thanks anyway!

Hi,
This is a really dirty fix but it works! Extracted and replaced /res/xml/music_widget_info.xml with the file attached. I've replaced the line android:resizeMode="vertical" with android:resizeMode="horizontal|vertical" and zipped the file back up again.
A little more to it then that since apktool can't compile the app but it's working
Just put the apk into /system/app/ or extract your own and replace the xml file.
Enjoy!
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18412241/music_widget_info.xml
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18412241/MusicPlayer.apk
Doesn't work..
I cant resize the music player horizontal.
Thank's
Just tested it from Dropbox myself and it does work. Downloaded the APK and overwrote the original one in /system/app/
This version came from Omega 7.1 so is deodexed. If your ROM isn't deodexed you'll need to delete the MusicPlayer.odex file in /system/app/.
I haven't got that xml folder?

Thx's m8. Works fine.
Really strange mod but it works
Well this apk didn't work for. so i downloaded the original Sgs3 touchwiz from omega files and now I have the "4x1" music widget.

tried to install the apk on my galaxy tab 2 7.0 (gt-p3110)
but unfortunately it didnt work. the installer simply says: app not installed.
do you think its possible to get this running on my device?
the tablet is not rooted and im not planning to do so (at the moment).
im looking forward to your responses. thanks in advance.
This is not developed by me. The OP of the Google Now for ICS Project confuses many . So i thought of posting a fully working process for HOX with Sense .

MAKE SURE TO DO A NANDROID BACKUP before. And you are following this at your own risk , i am not responsible for any damage . The max i do is assure you that it's 100% working for me and if you will follow the guide accurately you won't mess up.
Proceed as follows :
Step 1 : Download the by Velvet.apk by lenny_kano
Step 2 : Download LennoxPackage.zip
Step 3: Extract all 3 folders from LennoxPackage.zip on your SD Card and replace the Velvet.apk in the /app folder of LennoxPackage with Velvet.apk downloaded in Step 1.
Step 4 : On your phone, in /system/app/, rename GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk to GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk.bak using Root Browser (or something similar).
Step 5 : In the folder you placed on your SD - you'll need to move everything from the /app/ folder to /system/app/, and set permissions to RW/R/R for each of the 3 .apks
Step 6 : Copy the files from the lib folder on your SD, and paste to system/lib (note, a couple of these already exist. Before copying these files go through /system/lib/ and rename any existing files to include .bak, then copy/paste new files). Change permissions of these New files to rw/r/r
Step 7 : rename the existing "config" folder in /system/usr/srec/ on your phone to "config.bak", then just paste "config" and "en-US" from the srec folder on your SD to /system/usr/srec/. I also changed permissions on config and en-US to RWX/RX/RX
Step 8 : REBOOT and Enjoy
Gonna give a try when I get home tonight, thanks for the tutorial.

Hi,
Voice search doesnt work in google now....independently it works but not within google now
It's working for me. Though shows some lag but working.
Work for me. Thanks a lot.
Working great on ONE X with Viper 2.0.1! Only when i will stopp it and go back to homescreen, it will not really work....
Thanks a lot!
hey thanks a lot for this ... clear instructions ... followed and now i have google now...
I am viper 2.0.1 and google now is working great
Only thing there is a little lag when the card are showing up.. plus once the cards are loaded it loads it again .. so twice ... and it you need to sometimes press back button twice to exit ..
No biggie atleast google now is working ...
In the google NOW thread there is a "fixed version" mikeys M6, this solves most problems, like tha back button and double cards

This method works for any ARMv7 CPU, i.e, count in all the new devices.

Same here. It will detect my voice, but won't complete the actual voice search - just sits there.
I have a question to step 6 :
Do I have to rename each of the aprox. 100 files in /system/lib/ ??
for example : addict.dat to addict,dat.bak
chiaddict.dat to chiaddict.dat.bak ??
thx
I think thread is dead cuz the links don't work no more , that sucks but gives me more incentive to root lol
