buttons hidden behind navigation bar - Sony Xperia ZL

I installed today PAC ROM and after i installed TSF Shell, i can't acces some buttons from TSF Shell, they are somehow behind the navigation bar.
Is there a setting which allows me to run the shortcuts only on the display surface, not behind the navbar ?
Could be a ROM bug or a TSF Shell bug ? After i installed the ROM i didn't have any soft buttons / navbar, i went to settings, etc, to make the visible.
It should look like in the attached image, but the icons are behind the navbar. I tried to adjust the height of the navbar, but with same result.

has anyone goten rid of the nav bar completely on purpose?

i know on the Gtab there was a mod to add on screen nav buttons. i was wondering if anyone has gotten rid of the nav bar and used this mod (its an app) to have all the time full screen? the way it would work is there would just be a little icon that you push to show the home, back, menu, etc buttons instead of the full black bar...?

If you set the LCD Density to less than 240 the UI crashes and gets rid of the status bar and soft keys. A little button appears in the top right to open the app list though, which is odd. Also the camera UI is MUCH better at that density.
Probably not what you were after as you lose the status bar too

Notification bar on fullscreen mode

Hey,
Does anybody knows if it's possible showing android's notification bar while using fullscreen mode?
I found this cool app called full!screen.
It allows you to use fullscreen mode and gives you 2 buttons on the bottom corners with adjustable size and transparency, one of them is HOME and the other is BACK, you can slide them and get more options like RECENT APPS or canceling the fullscreen mode...
The only thing that missing here is the notification bar, its a deal breaker for me and I really want to use this fullscreen feature.
If there are any ideas please feel free to shoot
Thanks

I've tested several things with stock and Nova, but no luck. I was surprised the nova action for expand notifications wouldn't work. This isn't with the app you mentioned, though, it is with AOSPA and JDX, both of which have full screen options built in. The custom ROMs that have this feature built in typically allow you to show the notification bar. You could combine a custom ROM that allows removal of nav keys without removing status bar, then use a launcher like Nova to hide the status bar on the home page.

Thanks it sounds like a great idea, I'll try it :good:
p.s. why hiding the status bar on the home page?
Not sure if this is what you want but Smart Statusbar let's you access the notification bar from full screen apps.
Edit: just downloaded full!screen to try it out and it doesn't seem to work with that app.
full screen and keeps status bar
pie navigator
make sure to set up 'pie' controls before setting full screen and rebooting, or you'll be stuck with no way to navigate

I only mentioned that because I wasn't sure if you wanted the status bar or just wanted access to the notifications. I prefer having the status bar so I can easily see the time, battery, notifications, etc., but many prefer to hide the status bar for aesthetic reasons. With Nova, you can hide the status bar but still swipe down to expand notifications.
Use PA. Then go to hybrid properties, and set the Navigation Bar to 0%. This would make the nav bar disappear and trigger pie but with the status bar still at the top

Finally I used "button savior" app and than removed the softkeys by editing BuildProp file using "BuildProp Editor" adding the line: "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1", Reboot and that does it, no softkeys. Thanks for the advice for removing the softkeys :good:
I also prefer the status bar on... when I hide the status bar (using nova) there's no option pulling it back

Transparent notifications & launchers

Hiya.
I wanted to ask whether there is an option in the Settings or an update of Nexus 7 that makes the notifications bar on top and the three buttons on the bottom of the screen transparent? Or the ability to "autohide" the buttons underneath similar to the G2 and the Xperia phones?
What good launcher can you guys recommend for the Nexus 7 so as when in landscape i can make full "use" of the 7-inch screen? (especially when watching movies of playing games?
Please advice. Thank you.
Auto hide of the Navigation bar and status bar is not a new thing in android, any decent player like BSPlayer has an auto hide option for this bars , also as far as gaming there is immersion mode in Kitkat that apps and games can use if the developers enables so .. and transparent nav bar and status bar are part of the Now launcher, and i think Nova and Apex should support it also.

I did not know the autohide feature for Android has been around for a while. I was only aware of the current 4.4.2 OS of my Xperia Z1 (and i believe the LG G2 as well) that enables autohide of the nav bars on the bottom and notifications on top but not that of the Nexus 7. All the videos i have seen on Youtube all shows the black bars still there.
As regards the launchers you mentioned will it be a matter of swiping it from above and at the bottom to access the buttons is that correct?
Some apps have built in immersive mode and then they can hide navigation bar with/without status bar. Or you can turn on immersive mode manually whenever you want with this app (no root required):

Lg g3 hide status bar and navigation bar

Hi,
I would like to know if there a way to hide the status bar and navigation bar everywhere and swipe up or down or make them appear.
I know you can do this in the browser app and for the navigation bar in certain app.
Didn't find anything in tweekbox app.
Hey mate!
Give this link a go.

Might be what your looking for. Basically what you want is Immersive mode that's available on Stock roms like CM11 and AOKP. Unfortunetly we don't have an unlocked bootloader for this phone yet, so we don't have access to this yet. Please note the above link only works for the nav buttons. You could also check out removing the nav buttons (via tweakbox) and replacing with LMT, pie controls! works like a charm for me
have a good one!
Use nova launcher with LMT pie controls
It's easy to hide the Navbar. Settings/ display/ home touch buttons. Then select hide home touch buttons. Tick all the apps you want them to be hidden on.
Use Nova Launcher... (+1)
You can assign gestures to show/hide status bar and the dock (I use double finger swipe up to show/hide status bar, and down for the dock icons. In the settings you can select Nova to hide nav bar which will complete the trick for you. Like this...
Thanks !!! It worked using nova and pie. But again , the status bar is not hidden in all the apps.
Use xposed. Gravity box module can do it I believe.
G3
I use gmd gesture control and auto hide soft keys to dispense of the nav bar. Gesture control also has an option to hide the status bar although I don't use it personally.

Transparent NavBar

Ca somebody point me in the right direction...probably substratum plugin, i just want the navbar to always behave like its on the home screen transparent with the buttons only.
Download Custom Navigation Bar. No root required. Just a simple adb command and then you can make the buttons transparent.

I think he want a totally inverted version of that. LoL
Transparent bar with Button.
Am using custom navbar app as well. And i believe there's no option for that, yet.
I think its because, if the bar is transparent all the time, we wont be able to see the button when we open an app or web page with bright/white background.
