I came from the Rezound and recall that there were a couple of posts in its forums from people more knowledgeable than I about their recommendations for optimal camera settings. Things like exposure, contrast, etc., whatever would result in better pictures than the defaults.
I would like to formally request that anybody who has such knowledge get it written down here for all to share. Thanks in advance for anybody who has the time to do so!

There's so many different themes and such out there that do different things, but generally are "too much" for what I'm looking for. What I'd like to find is something that could/would change everything in the evo to white text on black background. I don't need fonts or icons or anything else changed the way it looks. The skills that I'm guessing that would be required to do this I'm positive are way beyond anything I'm capable of.
Menus, settings, mms and google voice would be a huge plus too. I know the mms one has been done and I already have that. I'm assuming that it could be quite a project to go through just about everything and change them from a "flashlight" theme to something easier on the eyes in the dark.
I bought the weather and toggle widget and found the flip clock version that is the opposite of stock and it looks good but is a little heavy sometimes on the resources. If my memory serves me still, I remember the old school flip clocks being more light numerals and dark or colored background.
For those persons that enjoy doing this sort of thing, perhaps you might consider this project. I don't know how many other people out there like what I'm describing. If there were quite a few, maybe that would be an incentive? I know money talks, so I will say ahead of time, I could only say to you "thank you for your hard work and skills."
P.S.
I sent google a request for adding the choice of light or dark theme (and attachments) to google voice, but going by what other people have said, it is most likely falling on deaf ears.
This idea has tutorial project written all over it.
I imagine a more or less monochrome UI with most just solid blacks and not much in the way of gradients, very plain and basic.
I think it would be cool, I really like simplicity/minimalism.
What I mean by the tutorial comment is: For ANYONE even half way interested in learning how to theme and mod this would be a great place to start, for the following reasons..
- Most of the mods would be super easy, there is a wide variety of difficulty levels in theming and the easiest of them will be SIMPLE for anyone who has basic computer skills
- Learning to theme (if you enjoy this stuff) is fun because you build on what you know. It''s almost like a video game in that you do/learn things in levels. There is a dossier (guides, wiki's, google, other forum members, etc.) where you learn what you need to know before you begin the next level (achieving the mod you want to do). You fight through the pawns (editing images, xml's, smali's, etc) to get to the boss (flashing, morphing, testing your mod) and when you defeat the boss you have a sense of accomplishment that is almost immediately replaced with the next level
- The sheer simplicity of this themet lends it to being a community project
For anyone who wants to spend more "quality" time with this hobby and learn more about the platform I think this theme is a great opportunity
*edit- People collaborate a lot on this site and others but I've never personally seen a collaborative theme project. I wonder what the best way would be to (if anyone is interested in it) house everything in an open repository..
I am an absolute beginner in C# coding and i would like to create a simple flashlight application, i know some basic C# coding but i was just wondering how i would go about gaining access to the hardware, like the flashlight, does anyone know of a link, webpage, instructional video etc. where i could find this information? all help is greatly appreciated.
again i do have some experience in coding, ive made a veryyyyyyyy simple app i would just like to expand on it.
Have you checked out the code samples on msdn yet? http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff431744(v=vs.92).aspx, the second sample in camera deals with using the hardware like the camera itself, flash etc in your applications. There's also a section that gives code examples for sensors and what not as well as tons of other useful info on that site. Hope it helps. Ohh, and welcome to xda.
The video is up today if you'd like to follow along, otherwise download the source and learn how to use a JSON API and Bind Controls and use Static Resources, GZip Requests vs WebClient and how to easily make a Panorama App.
Questions? Want to see a certain thing created? Tell me!
Please put a direct link for this in the video, it is not obvious where to search for it, and vice versa.
Also I have some comments for your video:
I really really dislike that you call your variables stuff like TheSource rather than describing the variable with what the actual source is. So if it is a Source with Friends, I would call it FriendSource.
You also have other bad and inconsistent naming conventions throughout your sample.
You also assume a lot of things in your video when explaining things. Such as the viewer knows what the data contract is that you are using and how you generated it, or from where you found out what properties it had to contain. You also didn't really explained what the Data Contract deserialization did, which can be very confusing to people and they would probably think: "What is this black magic?!".
Though I don't necessary think that stuff like this should be a part of the video, otherwise it would be super long, but it would not hurt posting links to where to find more information about these things. These things are not as obvious to new developers as they are to you.
This might seem as a lot of criticism, but you are doing better and better on the videos!
Thanks for this. Im writing a few json apps will no doubt help me with best practice

Hello
I would first like to thank you for your feedback and appreciate your suggestions and will definitely take note and ensure I am more specific on strings and item controls. Our next video was actually on how to make Classes for your JSON API (except now it's on Maps/Nokia Drive + New WP Apps/News) but I get maybe 8 Mins for actual video, 30s for Intro and max ideally 10Min for the whole video. So, can't put everything in, I wish but I will surely alert everyone if they don't know how to do it to visit a specific site or wait for the next video. I will definitely keep these items in mind.
As for my videos, that's nice of you to say. We're actually going to be throwing in stuff besides programming & review our forums WP Apps and talk about them as well as any news like the others with Android. If you have any suggestions, happy to hear them and give you credit.
Thank you again for all the feedback!

I am so happy to hear that! That's great to hear. One more video coming around JSON actually, might be even more helpful to you.
Keep me informed about your App, I would also like to talk about it when you're done.

Hi guys
I Was Wondering if you could help me get organized.
like Many of you probably, I have both AnoteHD and Snote. And like Many of You again, I think a hybrid between the two would Work best. So I thought I Would share my Sentiments and ideas, and then we could look at the options and discuss apps.
I really like the UI of AnoteHD, but think it is very limited. Its Such a let down You cant even edit the position of the pictures you added once you drop them into a note. But otherwise I really like the folder options and stock note backgrounds.
Snote has a very comprehensive note taking/ making ability. However, its a little disappointing that you cannot group notes together or "bind them" after thier creation. this coupled with the boring and limited folder Method.
As far as calendar I like The way AnoteHD is setup or at least I think it is easier to work with, especially with to-do's which is the Majority of my interaction with this app. I feel as Though S planner May have potential but Just the fact it is giving me what seems like proprietary back talk about not syncing with my google calendar is annoying. Though I found a tread discussing that issue it seemed unclear to me if they resolved this issue. I tried as well and had no progress with it. Being able to draw on your calendar Seems like a relevant function and gives you more freedom than AnoteHD. Also, I believe S planner does not Show you past due tasks or upcoming tasks as Well as AnoteHD.
Some of the Useless functions between these two apps :
A-note HD: The ability to edit the creation date? (Is this for the procrastinater?)
Snote: All the different templates Seem a little Silly.
Is there away to Change the default search engine for the Knowledge Search from wolfalpha gram?
As far as other apps, I remember I Used to utilize Go launcher on my former HTC phone. However it Was Junked With Ads unless you paid for it. And to use their task app you need to Mask your Stock UI With theirs, which Im under the impression will eat More Memory and battery. If things have Changed With this app or you have another app to Recommend, please let me Know.
Tips and tricks are also Welcome.(please ease the random capitalizations) I'm interested to hear What works for You.

Why narrow it down to two apps? Have you tried LectureNotes for note taking or looked into the functions of Write? Also, which SNote version are you using? I much prefer the one ported from the Note 3 because it has the extra functionality however not everyone agrees.
Just a few thoughts.

Im interested so I'll check it out. I was rather more hoping this would turn into a discussion but I see it does not seem to strike a chord with anyone else. Either way thanks for the feed back. Ill give them a try.

You might have better luck posting it in the "Themes and Apps" section. Just a thought.

Ahhh, I dont not even think of it. Since there was some personal gain for me as a result I put it in here. Maybe I'll repost or would a mod move it over if I asked?
Thanks,
Hello
I am standing before a tough decision and I hope someone can help me.
A recent update for my app (link) brought more complex functionality, and I'm afraid it can scare away users. Therefore I am thinking of adding some kind of guide/help section/floating balloon tips, so all would be clear and easy to understand.
My question being, what is the best approach here?
This is just a normal user speaking, but I'm really not being a fan of being greeted with a bunch of popups / overlays, even if they are meant to help. I much more prefer being able to do the thing I downloaded the app for in a quick manner right after the first startup, even if that means that I'm not using all of its features. Then, afterwards its nice to receive subtle hints every now about how to do things differently or what other goodies there are to discover.
Sorry if this isn't the most helpful answer. Do you have any specific case that you could show?
I got you
