Hi all,
I'm not able to let the GPS work with CM 7.1 Stable.
Here's my story:
I had CM 7.1 fully working, about 3 weeks ago.
I had battery issues then and I tried to upgrade to CM 7.2 RC1, but I did not test the GPS.
As battery charging issues still raised, I had to bring my mobile to HTC restoring to the stock ROM.
Once battery was fixed, I restored the backup with CM 7.2 RC1 and discovered that GPS was not working.
I read some posts here to downgrade CWM to 2.5.x and flash an older radio. I tried that and installed GPS Test with no luck. I re-flashed latest radio with no luck. I found a post telling to re-flash gapps, but not working.
As last step I formatted system, cache, data and installed CM 7.1 stable version, re-flashed latest radio, but GPS is still not working.
Do you have any idea of how I can fix it?
Thanks.
Try fastboot method for flashing radio. For some reason cwm method never worked for me.
Edit: Alternatively you can flash older radio. Just remember to check the radio version changes in your settings or not.

Thanks. I'll try that. What do you mean to check radio changes?
Try in settings/about phone and look for baseband version I think, it will most likely end in 20.10 and that's the most recent radio version.
The version before it ends with 19.25 (I think, it's been a while since I needed to flash the radio)
By "radio changes" he means check the version before flashing and after to be sure it flashed correctly.

Ah, ok. I always check after flashing and everytime I flash I get correct version in settings

Is there any log file I can check why GPS is not working?

It's not working because of the radio, it's an old bug. Something seems to stick in the radio partition when flashing cm7.
Another method that works is to flash any sense rom that has gps working, download Google maps, go outside and let Google maps get a good fix on your position then without touching any settings power off and flash cm7 again or restore a nandroid.
The log is called a logcat, either type adb logcat into a command prompt or Google qtadb for another method I know nothing about.

So, is any sense ROM valid? Should I wipe/format anything before or after flashing ROM or restoring my backup?
Thanks.
Ideally you should wipe system and data before flashing any rom.
There are a few sense roms available here like kwbr, rempuzzle (requires sd-ext) and older ones like jokerdroid. Alternatively you can flash a safe zip of stock rom. You can find all this info and related in the wildfire index in the development section.

Any sense rom with known working GPS, rempuzzle will work fine.
Wipe data,cache and dalvik cache.
Flash sense rom.
Download/open Google maps then let it get a good fix on your position.
Pop out the battery and reboot to recovery.
Wipe data,cache and dalvik cache.
Flash cm7 again.
All should be fine then. I've used all 3 of the methods for fixing the gps and have found flashing the radio by cwm method the most unreliable, fast boot and using the sense way seems to work everytime.

Hi all,
I confirm that everything is fully working, by flashing kwbr ROM, running GPS and restoring my CM7 backup.
that seems a little bit weird, but thanks for your support, really.
It's because the radio partition is separate to the rest, it can't be wiped like the others and a particular setting seems to stick which is incompatible with cm7. I think. Anyway glad you got it working mate! Enjoy.

That method didn't work for me.
I flashed Rempuzzle, then launched Google Maps, but nothing happened. So I decided to downgrade radio using the method described in the Wildfire index. Launched Maps and... TaDa! GPS was working. Then installed aGPS patch by crypted and now is running like hell.
Hope this helps.
Had the same problem. Reflashed radio and it works like a charm. Thanks guys.
So my GPS on T999 is no longer owrking. I have tried re-installing the current ROM. Installing other ROMs, everything, but I just can't get the phone to lock onto a SAT! It is really frustrating now as I need it really bad about a week ago and couldn't get out of the downtown lol.
CUrrently I am on the Aeon Fluxx ROM but the GPS did NOT work on the FROSTY, BLACK JELLY, AOKP, CM Nightlies, or ANY other ROMs anymore.
I have used GPS Status to reset A-GPS and then re-download the A-GPS data to no avail.
Any suggestions folks?
I believe there is already a thread about precisely this. Was posted maybe a week ago.
Also there's this one

Bluetooth problem is with ASOP 4.2.1 builds its fixed in 4.2.2 I think.
edit: sorry for grammatical errors, im still upset it took four hours to get this phone back working again after doing a clean wipe
Interesting, I tried to install it, and was successful...but the keyboard doesnt work, every five seconds, i got a FC with the aosp keyboard. tried looking for another keyboard, but i cant type it in, so i guess i may have to put the apk on my sd card...also wifi doesnt want to turn on...is there no launcher in this rom? the home button doesnt work
to add, i have unlocked the bootloader, so im thinking this is a cosunmer-turned-into-a-dev phone...but i read that the rom was hybird...i really dont like safestrap, as it takes long to build a slot, so i figured unlocking the bootloader would be easy enough...but no...im using cwm 6.0.x

Yes, streaming music thru Bluetooth won't work in cm10
GPS hasn't been tried yet , I don't use this.
so any fixes on CM10 gps? Someone said to flash to a stock based rom, get a gps lock then flash CM10.
which roms are stocked based?
once you get a gps lock, when installing CM10, do you do a clean wipe in CMW?

Every ROM listed for the RazrM (so far) is stock based, except CM10 and CM 10.1 . All the ones posted in this forum and DroidRzr were designed to be used with Safestrap and they are based on stock. Yes, you need to do a clean wipe for any ROM you install. However, I flashed Rage two nights ago and wiped cache/dalvik, factory data reset, but I DID NOT wipe system. It flashed perfectly. After you wipe, reboot recovery and mount system. After you wipe, TWRP says the system is mounted, but it is not. If you flash CM, you will need to flash a stock boot.img before you can go back to stock ROM.

Thanks, I forgot about that one.
Hi there,
I am using flinnys cm10.1 roms since some time and absolutely love them.
Smooth, fast - but the automatic screen rotation does not work.
No I did some research and was told to flash some sense-rom to get the
sensors back to work. I tried - but no other rom than the cm10.1 will boot!
I tried a virtuous unity and another quiet new sense-rom - installation through
rom manager says everything ok, but the phone get's always stuck in the
backup programm while trying to boot the newly flashed rom.
I tried with and without wiping, whatever - nothing works.
What else can I try?
Don't use ROM manager, use your recovery

What do you mean with "use your recovery".
I did also try to flash the new roms from the recovery program, which did not work either
ROM manager is not a great way to flash to your phone or wipe anything
Boot to your recovery, do a full wipe, flash ROM of choice
If your flashing sense ROMs make sure to have the dz hboot also formating all partitions to ext4 may help

So i am not new to flashing roms and rooting
i used to have macs rom then macs all star rom on my note 2 and loved them
i used to follow another site before i officially moved here
i flashed the carbon rom and loved it but my data didn't work and neither did my gps
then i tried another aosp rom and same problem...
i've been using the carbon rom as my daily driver since i'm always in a wifi area and i loved the speed and customization
now i'm trying to flash the team dirt unicorn rom
and it wont get passed the activating mobile data screen
i did the usual wipe data and dalvik factory reset
instructions say flash rom let it load then flash gapps... so
flashed the rom
let it run then it gets stuck on the mobile data screen
it works i can skip the process and everything but i can't connect to any mobile data connection at all
no calls no data nothing...
it's very frustrating i like the app and have been playing with it but no actual phone use....
i
i use the team win touch screen recovery
i've tried re-whiping re installing re downloading re installing
nothing same thing each time
any help would be great....
i seem to have the same issues with all aosp roms... no data no gps...
