[Q] Vibration intensity? - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
After switching from a S2 to the S4 mini (i9195) I feel that really the only thing I miss is a setting for the vibration intensity such as it existed on the S2.
Anyone know of a program to change this? I don't mean recording a random vibration signal (tried that). I run the Wanam Xposed app but didn't find anything there either.
Cheers!

Thanks for the tip. Doesn't seem to enable vibration intensity with the arco kernel, though. If you have tips for kernel that enables this for the i9195 I'm all ears

[Q] Use Menu and Back button as notification LED

Hi there,
is there a way to use the Menu and Back button on the bottom of the phone as a notification LED? Just let it blink if there is a notification in the system?
Greetings
Christian
I have tried several apps (BBS Notifications, ButtonLED) to accomplish this, unfortunately without any success.
The BBS Notification was able to control the button lights, however when the screen is off the lights do not work. Some phones do not allow the lights to go on, when the screen is off and as it seems S4 Mini is one of them. I also hope someone will find a solution for this, preferably one that will not cause too much battery drain.
Another option might be BLN mod. However, I read that the BLN modification in kernel might cause battery drain exactly because of the necessary changes in power management in order to allow the button light to work when the screen is off (the BLN mod for Mini does not exist yet as far as I know).

hello
I think the BLN kernel solution is better than any noLED app or other.
So I am very interested in a BLN supporting kernel.
Were can a user as me ask for this or can see the progress in building such a BLN-supporting kernel?
Thanks
Tom
You can try noled it uses your screen led for notification but drains battery

As I wrote I this the BLN is much more better.
If you look at night on your superAMOLED screen while a noLED sign is there, the whole screen is lighter.
As far as I see this app (noLED) is not able to let our wonderful AMOLED screen totaly black but gives a little light on the whole screen.
So: were can a "new" user as me, with 2 years CM experiance at his Galasy S I can ask developers to create a BLN supportet kernel?
I dont want to post it in the wrong place here in XDAdev.
thanks !
Tom

I remembered to see the backlight somewhere on a todo list, but now can't find it. Is this now available in the stable release?
no it isn't. Still on the list.
Anything new yet? My girlfriend uses se S4 mini and is annoyed of the missing LED. NoLED drains too much battery...

So what do these links tell me. After reading them I am not sure what to do with it? Can I just add that to my Cyanogen or is it different?
What happens with Cyanogen Updates then?

[Q] BLN driving me nuts!! Pls help

Hi all,
I've put good several hours today trying to get BLN(back light notification) function working on my T989 to no avail. I understand the kernel in CM 10.1.2 doesn't support BLN, so today I flashed a new one that does. After that I installed BLN control. It does report that BLN status is enabled, but neither the test nor the real world uses lit up those 4 damned touch key LEDs.
In addition, I've also tried ButtonLED(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958939). It didn't work either because the "brightness" file needed couldn't be found or maybe just doesnt exist. the 5 files its auto search located didn't work of course.
I'd appreciate if some of you more skilled/experienced magnificent people could help me out. There are so many T989 users out there, I'm sure there're people who got bothered by the lack of notifications and figured out a work around. It doesnt have to be with these two apps, but I don't want to use apps that use the main LCD for notifications for battery life's reason.
Thanks ahead!
ROM: CM 10.1.2 stable release
Android version: 4.2.2

Can you pls elaborate how you get it working with trickster mod? there's a "LED Control" button but requires paid version. Is this it? there's also "Backlight Notification" toggle which I have set to on but is not doing anything.

The backlight notification toggle is the one I used. I am on Slim Bean 4.3 using Uber 2GHz with BLN though.
Not sure why it works for me and not you.
I wiped cache partition and dalvik cache, still no change....
I read somewhere on internet the ROM must also support BLN function. Could this be the cause?
Download trickster mod..swipe over to the last tab and you'll see an option for backlight notification...enable it and that's it

I've done all that, unfortunately it just didn't work. Are you on CM 10.1 with a kernel that supports bln? Or is there anyone with this setup who have gotten it to work?

[Q] Vibrate on Galaxy Tab 3 - 7.0?

Hi. Just a quick question... is the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (SM-T210) supposed to have Vibration functionality?
In games and apps that have vibration feedback, it doesn't do it. Nor can I find any option relating to Vibration in the Settings. I'm wondering if this is a warranty issue or a cost-saving "feature."
Edit: If it is supposed to have Vibrate features, can you advise me on where I should be able to access Settings for it?
Edit 2: I meant to put this in Q&A, but can't seem to delete. Could a moderator please move this threat over? (sorry)
Thanks in advance!
I don't mean to be rude, but BUMP.
250 views, two weeks, and not a single person can provide a simple yes or no???
I start sharing T211 kernel in development section (and no feedback from T211 owner around here so far). There's a vibrator driver in T211 but no in T210.
No

Minealso doesnt vibrate, but not sure, if it s a driver problem, or missing hardware. @ketut.kumajaya did you try to enable it in the config/driver source already?

CM11 vibrationg strength

Hello, just flashed my s4 mini into cm11. Everything is working fine besides that there is no option for changing vibration strength. I compared the option with S2 and it's plain missing. Any solution for this (without recompiling)?

Don't think by me. I don't own the device, sorry.
So I think I found a reason to have root access. The app Advanced Settings can supposedly adjust the vibration with root access.

Very interesting indeed.
Any change to the display driver settings to see if the red tint issue it's software addressable?
@Skin1980 I installed your kernel and the app Advanced Settings to change the vibration intensity. But no matter what I choose, I don't feel any difference. Can you or someone else confirm, that this is working with your kernel? Is there another way to change vibration intensity?

No one has figured out how to do it. Some of the other watches have a text file that controls the amp power for the vibration motor. This file is not there for the Huawei.
