Does any one know how to get or if its possible to get the hacked YouTube where you can turn the screen off but the content you're playing still keeps going?
I had it on my S3 from the themes and apps threads over in the S3 section but I can't install the apk. Wondering if apk's like that are built for specific phones?
Thanks.

I found what I was looking for and works perfect. Not sure if any of you would find this useful but I like having this option.

Good news is that youtube should finally support background audio in a forthcoming update! http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...dio-is-finally-coming-to-youtube-for-android/

thanks both - will give them a try
is there any working apk of allshare for the GNex?
SKIFTA app
https://market.android.com/details?...sMSwxLDUwMSwiY29tLnNraWZ0YS5hbmRyb2lkLmFwcCJd
doubleTwist AirSync? Not sure if that is what you might need.
2Player is awesome
has anyone tried the AllShare apps ripped from the SGS-III?
I would be interested to see if they could work (think it came with 3 different ones?) and If there is a certain order you need to install them...? Ill try and find them and report back. Just checking to see if anyone has had any luck?
edit: Found them, there are 4 apps of the sort on the SGS-III...
AllshareDMC.apk
AllshareMediaServer.apk
AllSharePlay.apk
AllshareService.apk
I'll try and play with them tonight and see if I can sync with my Sammy smart tv
Ok, only AllSharePlay would install and it gave me a FC every time I tried to open.
I wonder if I am missing some lib files that normally go along with the apk's?
Need to look closer into the system dump... :-(

Thank you for your suggestion
for me: official xbmc really helped me a lot since my lcd (that do not have DLNA) are connected to my PC through HDMI (also plex have very potential for local/online streaming)
thus my solution for streaming from phone to LCD : local synced folder (sync media between my phone & PC)
OK, so this dev over on rootxwiki posted a deodexed version of the SGS3 stock Vzw rom and I grabbed the allshare files from it.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/29656-rom-stock-vzw-rooted-deodexed-zipaligned/
Same result, allshareplay was the only one that wanted to install (on Pete's BB 4.1.1) and would FC every time. Previously on AOKP so I doubt the "new" rom is causing the issue. Probably needs some lib files to go along with the apk or something? Any ideas???
What's with the obsession with allshare? Allshare is bloatware there's imediashare that does so much more and there's skifta among others. Give them all a try and see what you like. Forget allshare.
Have you looked at ArrMC application?

i love the feature of having video play over what you are doing, or if you get an sms you can answer it while still watching video, i stream off netflix and on my local device alot and i hate having to exit out reload and relaunch what i was watching everytime i get a text.
if theres any current software out or if theres plans to port this feature id like some info.
I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but try them out. They are both great apps.

Hi guys saw this is out now but the market says its not compatible with the i9300 but there's videos of people playing it online. A quick search on Google hasn't helped me find out any more.
Any thoughts? Cheers

the support will be added in the upcoming updates wait for a few days
I think what those other people do is download the APK file with a different device and transfer them over to the S3. It should then install and play fine.
This game looks good, can't wait for my S3 to arrive to play it.

i have this game too its about 1,4GB big and its rly nice the graphics are good like in GTA 3
I bought it for my SGS3 on launch day. Works fine with no lag and sound works too.
Downloaded straight from the play store with stock Rom UK version.

It was available for the S III on the play store at launch, for whatever reason they've now listed it as incompatible.
I assume they've just made it unavailable to all devices they haven't explicitly tested it on themselves due to bad reviews, and it will indeed be fixed in an upcoming update. Naturally, it does work fine.

Hey, I am searching for an app with lets you play youtube videos in a popup window like locally stored videos on the SGS3... is there a "hack" for youtube App / TouchWiz so you can do this or an external app?
THanks

Grateful to know what's better? I'm always on the lookout, especially if it"s free to download. Couldn't find anything on the Playstore that reliably allowed playback of YouTube vids outside the YouTube app. I'm running a stock ICS rom, so would have to count out any apps that required a rooted device..
it seems like I can't stream anything in HD. is there a setting for this? Both YouTube and Netflix apps streams in 360 or 480p even when HD button is on. it's kind of annoying when I know I can get better picture than that. What's the purpose of having a nice screen when you can only stream in this resolution? is there a way to force these to stream in 720p? or at least an apk that will work on Galaxy Note II. i've found some but it doesn't work on my NII. thanks.

Hd YouTube only works on wifi unless you un install with titanium and flash custom one YOU MUST RESTART YOUR PHONE BETWEEN UNINSTALL AND NEW INSTALL

For youtube you can go to settings but I think its HQ and for you to see videos you have to make sure whatever video you choose to watch is a HD video that way when it starts you can select the HD option button remember on youtube you have to hope that the uploader had recorded their videos in HD also. Now for netflix it shows on its own since I have lte I really never tried to see if their was an option for HD in the settings.

both of them shows pixelation even both the Netflix shows I watch and YouTube channels in am subscribed to is both available in HD. I cannot express how much I hate this.
I see you use Sprint version. have you tried comparing it side by side a laptop or desktop if they are the same? I tried comparing them and note II was inferior of the three, but when I run a video I have on my sd card it looks crisp.

this! I tried this earlier with TIBU but I can't install it. Apparently it stayed at my app drawer so it blocked me from installing it. I tried it again and worked like magic. it's finally streaming true HD! now we just need netflix. I tried some already but all of them won't work. It force closes on me. tyvm

mine didn't. It seems like it's not just me. There's a huge difference between the modded apk linked above than the one on play store. no pixelation and discoloration on the new apk. crisp and clear just like how it looks like on a laptop. but now it eats a lot more data which is fine since I have unlimited 4g nationwide. I guess I see why the official one doesn't offer true HD. ^^.
I hope somebody do something like that for netflix. I've searched but no one has a working apk on Samsung devices. :/

Download Tube mate (Google It) you can stream or download 1080P,720P,480P,360P HD videos on 3G/4G/LTE or WiFi. Works great for me. Also there's a modded Netflix APK that supports 720P. Google it as well. I don't like posting links because they may be considered as spam.
