Over on the N7100 thread they have a pegasus kernel and I've started the conversation on getting it ported to the Sprint SPH-L900 but this is all over my head. I need intervention by someone who understands all of this. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33610076&postcount=635

You can't "port" a kernel. Why don't you just ask him to support our device? He might, and it shouldn't be much of a hassle since it's almost identical.

Lol, well there will be a ROM coming. But it's not done yet. As far as kernels, I'm not a kernel guy myself.

I believe AndreiLux, says in his thread that he doesn't have a sprint device so he can't directly test and figure out the changes he needs to make if any. He says that he's perfectly willing to port it over if someone plays guinea pig and downloads the tmobile version kernel and loads it on their sprint device lol.

Just tried it. I wiped cache/dalvic, flashed, wiped again, fixed permissions, reboot, prof....soft brick. Restored backup via TWRP and all is well again. I'm on Jellybomb but that shouldn't cause an issue to my knowledge. I didn't try the ODIN version so that might work but this did not. Can't wait for one that will boot for our device. That Kernel looks boss.

Just found this thread. Funny.
Anyway all I needed from the beginning was a Sprint boot.img, and since nobody gave that to me until yesterday I didn't do much yet. Anyway the kernel is up in the link above.

Thank you for supporting our device AndreiLux! I've heard nothing but praises about your kernel and was anxious to see it on the Sprint Note 2. This might be an odd question, but how do you decide what new features or changes to add to your kernel?
Edit: I have another thought I was wondering about. Since we have you custom kernel now, shouldn't the ExtSd2InternalSD v3.1 mod work on our devices (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931500)?
Seems like the Att version already has a clean ROM, and touch recovery.

I've got the Canadian version, and other than bloat apps and some carrier settings are they not the same phones for the most part? I might be talking out of my ass here, but should the devs not have too much trouble porting a custom Rom from one variant to the others.
Also, it really hasn't even been two weeks since the phone hit the market and it is already unlocked. I am making the assumption that all the variants will be getting some custom Rom love pretty soon. I'm sure it takes a bit of time.

Also, does this banned ROM have a smooth handoff between 3G/LTE/WiFi?
I ask because I have flashed several AOSP and AOKP ROMs and they all seemed to struggle for signal strength (thus, draining the phone battery much faster than a TW ROM).

i dont think it will be avaialbe using the stock Samsung SMS app due to the fact its kinda tied into the framework unless someone specifically makes a 3rd party app to modify the Stock Samsung SMS app, however i can see it being possible using a app like GO SMS and have the data shared on both roms with one slight line of code added/removed (pretty much just a folder re-direct).
Ya pretty much i mean if he can get it going, i wouldn't mind using an alternative sms...because every alternative sms i have used, the message get shown in stock. so ultimately, will "almost" be the same...for sms. but hey, we will never know! i mean modacap (i think is what its call) manage to share data between tw and ge (granted, GE has tw framework) but still
