[Q] Nexus 7 Wallpaper Resolution - Nexus 7 (2013) Themes and Apps

Hi Guys,
I've been trying some 1920x1200 wallpapers from the Forum and Web but if they are the same resolution as the device, why do I have to crop it in order to set as a wallpaper? Shouldn't this be automatic and use the whole screen for the picture?
Regards,

Because landscape mode needs wallpaper too, nova launcher can set wallpaper without croping

Nova launcher is good and even easier, you can use QuickPic(pictures browser), it's free on the playstore and in my opinion a lot better picture browser then gallery, a lot of customizations and options there.

Nexus Wallpaper
Another good solution is a free app called image2wallpaper....use it extensively

[REQUEST]: Fixed size wallpaper (480 x 800)

Hi, our current wallpaper pixel size is 960 x 800. Is there anyway where we can tweak to make it to 480 x 800? In other words, I do not want a "scrolling" wallpaper, but a fixed wallpaper even when there are multiple homescreens.
I know it is possible, because for the aCircuit Board Live Wallpaper, under the settings, there is an option to fix a particular section of the wallpaper within the phone screen.
Any experts can help on this?
Use ADW launcher and put static wallpaper on.

Yes, I know ADW Launcher is capable of doing that. But does anyone knows how to extract that part of ADW Launcher, make it an app that runs in TW3?
I personally had not tried any launcher, because I like the TW3 interface, hence the request for such an app / or tweak.
I also would like to keep the TW interface and have a static wallpaper that is not cropped!
You can use launcher pro from the market, there is options for static wallpaper and to keep the overall look and feel of touchwiz.

Does launcher pro need to be running like replacing the home screen to have the static wallpaper feature ?

Theme Touchwiz?

Quick question guys...i know a lot of you hate Touchwiz and usually just swap it for ADW, Zeam, LPP or the likes but from watching different videos i dont think its that bad.... apart from it looking slightly iphonish and a bit too colorful...do you guys know of any theme that makes it a bit more focused in terms of colors? For instance i would like to see the 4 buttons at the bottom in one color rather than four different colors...that would make it a bit more professional in my opinion...does this exist?
biggest problem in my estimation is no landscape mode, and no alphabetical sort.. hopefully someone will fix this.
check "TouchWiz AppSorter" from the market

still am getting this error msg. " cannot access TouchWiz database."
this is with TouchWiz appSorter..

I don't have this phone although I am planning on getting it. Can you explain more about what is and isn't supported in landscape mode? It looked from some of the videos that there is an "auto rotate" option? Can the phone dialer etc be rotated?
Thanks in advanced,
James
Yes, autorotate exists but dialer and launcher don't work in landscape... they will stay in portrait as most of TW apps

Are there any mods for TouchWiz?
I would also like to alter the grid for alternate DPI. I found a launcher.xml config file in the TWLauncher saved prefs folder, but I don't have a list of valid settings.
Newest version of touchwiz sorter now works thanks. Now we need a version that auto rotates and has clear backgrounds

The reason i would stick with stock is after watching countless videos with different launchers i dont see any that runs as smoot as touchwiz and i like the widget resizing...its a bit more intuitive than that of AFW, LPP etc...correctme if i'm wrong

also the way the music widget works when locked is nice..
although the display on the older froyo sgs was even nicer.
I have a question. Is music widget on lockscreen working with other players? I mean for example AMP Player? I really would like to use AMP Player, but I need to change music fast from lockscreen. Or is there any way how to do that?

[Q] Any scrolling wallpaper app with slideshow feature?

Any scrolling wallpaper app with slideshow feature?
So it could display highest quality scrolling wallpapers without reducing, or cropping, but also could auto change the wallpapers every X minutes or hours?
Are you talking about something like the HOX? When you change from a main screen to another the wallpaper scroll a bit, is that what you're talking about?
I do not own HOX, but scrolling wallpaper - we already have that on SGS3, just we set 1 photo for it to show.
What i want is to auto change the wallpapers, so I select a folder with wallpapers and it does the job
wallpaper changer on playstore do the job

Hi thanks so much for the app, I love this wallpaper changer!
There is a Thanks button for that
Multipicture live wallpaper is the best I have seen, you can set it so a different wallpaper comes up on every home screen, and you can chose set pictures for 1 home screen and cycle through a folder for the others! They cross fade into each other which looks great as well

Scrolling wallpaper feature is useless if you want to have different wallpaper on each screen

Wallpapers on our p6

Good afternoon guys and girls who own this beautiful sexy phone! I have some problems with our device regarding the wallpapers. How do i put 720x1280 wallpaper that i download to be on fullscreen on our phone? Whenever i try to set as wallpaper it takes only a portion of the hd wallpaper and zooms and it looks like ****. If you did not understand what i mean i will try to explain better. Thanks mates!
You can use the app called "Crop wallpaper" from Google Play Store. We all know what You are talking about 'cause we all suffer this problem.

Homscreen wallpapers have to be 1440x1280. While lockscreen wallpapers are 720x1280.
On the other hand, there are 3rd party apps that let you use 720x1280 as homescreen wallaper without any cropping. I dont know the app but a similar topic was discussed here on xda before.

Changing Fire Launcher wallpaper?

Hey all,
Any way to set the Fire launcher wallpaper that anyone's discovered?

currently we just can set the lockscreen wallpaper only. Even using the 3rd party launcher, we cannot set the wallpapers...
I really don't get this from amazon, this is 2014 , and we still cannot just customize the wallpaper ? ha ha
Use Vire Launcher.

Vire
Vire launcher does not let you change wallpapers... You can change the theme and the background will change with it, but you can't change to custom backgrounds...
Unless someone else found a way to do so?

Buzz launcher offers full custom background support, and makes it feel more like an android device. Also, if you haven't already, get the playstore... None of this requires a root. Instructions are here:

Still better than the terrible stock Fire Launcher though... And all the launchers that DO support widgets are stuck with an UGLY plain black background! At the moment, buzz launcher is the best option, until someone either develops a new launcher, or updates an existing one to make the "background" to not be dependent on the system background, but rather be an image placed ON TOP of said background. This would in effect bypass the whole "No background" problem.

Once I installed the Google Launcher and playstore I didn't feel held back anymore from the phone and switched back to the Amazon Launcher. It's my preferred launcher now. I recommend everyone give it a true shot. I just wish they gave us an option out of the box as I feel more people would have tried it out then.
Default wallpaper is cool, i think its not necesary to change it

Launcher Lab
You can only use built in widgets but launcher lab works great and has many themes like themer, have been using it for a month with no forced closes.
Buzz has been the most stable for me themer crashed a lot I'm stock unlocked also glove box dock is really nice on here

You can change your background now if you have updated to version 4.6.1 You can choose from some wallpapers or your own photo. If not, then try Buzz Launcher, which is the only launcher that i've found so far that has a customizable background. Hope this helps!
I am using nova launcher prime 4.0.1 I think and I have wallpapers/widgets working.
Google Now launch lets you change wallpapers and most widgets seem to work fine.
