Really dark slow motion video - HTC One X

..

How are you even able to shoot in SlowMotion after the Sense 5 update? I cant even do that
Removing the slowmotion on Sense 5 for the HOX was the worst thing to do

thats just what happens with slo-mo i would go all scientific but that will takee too long... if you record at a lower resolution it should make it brighter

is the hox actually increasing the shutter speed for the increased fps or is it software based that plays back the video at a lower fps?
Never been a fan of the slow motion feature on phones, no where near the fps you need for real smooth videos.

It's normal that on slow motion you have darker video than normal, i can't explain but that's it. Try with google

HTC One X HQ Camera mod

Thanks [email protected] found his video on the camera mod which i decided to test for myself video and details in link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL7YO9YVrbo
Im getting a constant 29fps with every video i shoot, close to 11.5 - 12mbps not 20mbps and Video stabilization off, Stereo record Off because of the hiss. Photos have improved heaps 6.5mb in size. My personal experience and settings stated i never got more the 23fps and most of the time it was below 23fps.
edit: Indoors recording i got 26fps, comparing to my old video indoors 19fps. Outdoors day recording 29fps like a new camera luving it.
Photos way clearer and sharper also bigger in size. HDR mode not working as it should but who cares dont use it anyways.
installed the
Sense 4.0
Standard 20mbps:
HQ-CameraV1.5
On Insertcoin 7.3.0 stock kernal.
Shame it doesn't work with stock rom....
I think ARHD included this mod by default..
I have flashed the mod on InsertCoin 7.3.0 and it is awesome.. :good::good::good:
It's threads like this that are making it so hard not to unlock the bootloader
Glad the camera is much improved though, sounds great.
What about the not properly working HDR mode? What happens if you use it?
but this mod is not for the sentation, is valid also for the htc one x?

Would like to know the .jpg sizes everyone is getting after this mod, im getting 2-3mb, 2.5mb average photo indoors after this mod.
Is this working on One x?

Same guy released this mod but 1.5v, when I saw the video on YouTube that it worked on the X thought I'd give it a go. I thought if it stuffed camera up ill restore camera app via titanium or no problem refashing rom, was all worth it 29fps video and better photos.

Is your burst mode a bit weird?
My first shot is normal in burst mode, but every shot afterwards is darker in terms of lighting.

guess the workaround is to just tap really fast lolol
how you checking video FPS anyway? My indoor videos are coming in around 10 Mbps, but not sure how to check FPS. They look really smooth though
Connect the X to your computer and find the video in the X storeage, right click the file and go properties then you can see the video details.
Edit. Haha yes tapping fast does the job

Blink feed is in settings > personalise > home screen style.
And zoe is a feature of the HTC one. I doubt we will get it on here.

Zoe needs the 4mp cam which takes small pics to reduce its size, btw whats your CID ?

Rubbish.
It's tied to ImageChipv2 in the One is the likely reason.
Zoe is IN our camera app we just cannot use it.
Frankly, the only feature that's missing is Zoe...
But honestly, would you even use it that much ?
We have, however, some features that the HTC ONE does NOT have, like the ability to turn off blinkfeed...
I am happy with Sense 5 on our HOX...
Not missing Zoe at all, and I had the chance of trying it out, since my friend owns a HTC ONE...
It's really nothing that special...
And now, just to clear things out...
It doesn't matter that our camera has 8MP... That is not the problem, since it doesn't HAVE TO make that sized photos... You can very well that 4MP photos on the HOX if you want to...
I had the one. It's a fluffy gimmick. Trust me it's a boredom reliever not a revolutionary idea

[Q] Slow motion camera

I was messing around with the slow motion camera on the htc one and it its a pretty cool feature. But how does it compare to the iphone 5s? obviously its going to be different because the iphone 5s has a 12Mp camera (I think at least) but how many frames a second does the htc one shoot when its in slow motion mode. you can set the speed to 1/4 normal speed so I would think that would make it 120 frames a second or does it only shoot at 60 frames a second and then just slow it down more to appear 1/4 the speed in real life?

I think they both shoot 120fps slow motion
They both shoot at 120fps, but the iPhone 5s does it at 1080p while the HTC one brings down the resolution to 768 by 432

Click the menu in the camera app and go to video capture mode or whatever and there's a couple of options. Btw I'm loving that splash screen you had done.

i am not an iphone person but i have to say the 5s slow motion is bad ass . you take a video and then you can edit it in such a way that just a portion of the video is slow motion (or the whole thing). my buddy took a video of his friend playing golf . and then made it so the swing was slow motion . holy s&^%. the sound was awesome in slow motion and the video was awesome quality . got to give props where props are do . good job on this one apple .
Any way to bump up slow motion to at least 720p?

I totally agree. Slow motion video on the 5s is amazing. I can live with the lack of sound on the One's slo—mo, but the quality is not that great. It would be great to see the resolution bumped up to 720p.

HTC One M8 Camera App Modification?

The HTC One X had a pretty good camera for the time, but there was a mod to the camera app which was the HQ Camera Mod for HTC One X by NODO-GT. It enhanced the image and video quality quite a bit by reducing compression and size limitations etc. Maybe a mod like that is possible on the HTC One, just to unlock the potential of the camera. Also, the camera tends to overexpose in the stock app, not much in other apps though, so maybe that could be fixed with software too. Just a thought but would it be possible?

We don't really need a MOD since we have manual control. If something is too exposed... Turn exposure down.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Dont know if we dont need One... The good thing about that mod was the reduced compression and upped bitrate. lets see what someone with knowledge says about m8 compression.

I agree. Being able to manually control exposures is nice but it makes a lot more sense to be able to have higher quality images taken without having to do so...
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
One thing I would like to see that we do not have any control of right now is image sharpening control, especially on the video camera function. Image sharpening was really out of control on the M7 and they have certainly improved it on the M8, but I still don't like how high the sharpening level is.
I would love it if somehow someone could make an Xposed module that lets us adjust the sharpening levels on the native HTC camera app.
Agreed something like that would be awesome.....
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
There's sharpening in the settings..unless you're talking about some other form of sharpening that I'm unaware of...not sure why my screenshot ended up sideways...
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
The reason for the one x camera mod was because the one x compressed its images and videos horribly. The m8 record at 20mbps so the video quality is pretty much maxed for 1080p, images are about 3mb for 4mp which would be almost if not completely uncompressed.

Anyone know if there is a camera port capable of higher fps for slo-mo recording? Like the stock camera is capable of.

This would be extremely helpful. Its the only reason I keep going back to a Sense based ROM.
I like to create Auto Awesome videos after my family goes out and does something fun. Having some Slow Motion clips in there really makes it cool
