hi all, this is the first time i come here
I am using LG Optimus G, i have tried many rom(event stock) for my phone, but in wait time my phone drain 2%-3%/1h.
When i set Screen 100%, listening music via 3G and use camera(with flash on), my phone lose 85% baterry energy for 2h 30minutes, so i think my battery phone was fine.
I have tried many ways to improve batterry life, but nothing change.
Please give me some suggestion, thank you :fingers-crossed:
I also use Greenify and Titanium to freeze some app and service, but the problem still come
And what do expect?it's like saying : "hey,i drive my car with 200km/h and i have great fuel consumption. You gave the answers yourself. 3g streaming and highest brightness on a 4.7" display?nice job. And if you are in a low signal area, the things get even better. Haven't you heard yet?3g is one of the biggest cause for drain.
Use betterbatteystats to see what causes the drain.if you don't play games a litle underclocking would save you some battery.

Thank for your reply, funny man!
I have tested with "Airplane mode", and my phone still drain 2%/1h on standby mode
So you have something eating your battery. Bbstats and cpu spy to see if the phone goes to deep sleep and then look for hungry apps.

My first post was placed in wrong category and i can not delete it, so sorry.
Now, i installed 2 app you recommed, i will see the hungry apps.
Thank you :victory:
hi @kimitza,
I have installed and tested with 2 apps you recommened.
"Phone Idle" has 47% and "Cell standby" has 30%(i also set CPU to minimum frequence and also tested with "Airplane mode").
I don't know why

I duno what yu are expecting... But losing 3% / hr is fine.... Since you using 3g....also setcpu wont underclock the freq of all the cores.. It ly manages the master core i.e. Core0....so mobiles with quad core processors, setcpu is not tat grt application..... I've edited the thermald conf file in /etc and set the cpu cores to 1026mhz, by this way you can underclock the freq of all the 4 cores... With 2 hrs screen on I lost 70% of battery juice in 12hrs with ECO MODE OFF, 3G DATA ALWAYS ON, Screen brightness set to 25% with auto...

I try the link you gave, but nothing change
Dear Guys, I am trying to ask your eperiences with LG Optimus E975 (Originally LG F180l)
The phone is old (Feb 2014), but until now it worked great. I bought it on my trip around South Korea, but I use it at the Czech Republic.
Situation:
The LGF180l phone has started battery drain very quickly, even in idle mode (Data Off, Sync account off, GPS OFF, Brightness Min, Auto bright off, Screen rotation off, Airplane mode ON, LG Phone backup OFF ...) In this configuration, the screen still consumes about 50% of the battery. Previous vallue was about 20% in normal operation mode. So I tried using LG Flash Tool 2014 to make CSE Flash and convert my phone to LG Optimus E975. The situation has not changed. Even with a perfectly clean installation, the screen consumption instantly jumps to 50-60% after the turn off and keep it permanently.
I tried to change batteries too. 1st battery has the year of production 2013, the second has 2017, but both has the same behaviour. I've tried uninstalling Google+, Google Photos, Hangouts, and more. Still without result. Now I have back the original factory configuration of the LG E975 and still the same.
If the phone turns off, there is no consumtion and battery drain.
I'm really crazy, maybe I have to tell the boss about the new phone .

use GSM data only when you want and i am sure it will give you atleast 2 days..
If u dont get calls at all(5-6 calls a day), then you may get more than 3 days easily.
And dont forget to calibrate the battery after flashing a new ROM.

the last time i checked, my phone only used about 0.5-0.6% of battery power per hr when in deep sleep (wifi, bluetooth and data all off). that equates to about 7 days from full charge!
technically that's how long my battery can last if i don't use the phone at all. so 2-3 days if used lightly is definately not exagerating
7days???
my defy can last 1day only!
Switch off data, wifi, gps.
Reduce screen brightness. (Display backlight consumes most of the battery)
Undervolt the cpu.
Use the phone as little as possible.
I'm pretty sure you can hit 2 days with this.
The maximum i've been able to get is 2 days. I got this only with minimal usage that i could manage. So it depends on how much u use the phone.
Buy a Nokia from the late 90's if that's all you do with your phones xD

well my status of battery as below
about 2 hours of wifi
playing with phone for tweaks and looks installing apps for more than 5 hours
Around 10 calss more than 50 msging
I m left with 34% after 2 days
I switch flight mode on by 12 and switch it on by 7
Undervalted cpu default values
Juice defender
I think the setvel will make your battery longer
My battery barely lasts a full day with normal use :|
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
I last 1,5 days with wifi off, 2G and green power...
my defy with latest quarx stable lasts 4-5 days and i never turn it off. Gps, wifi, gsm modem always off and 2G only: i manually activate them when in need.
It goes to deep sleep at night using max 3% of battery. During the day i switch on wifi or gsm module to check emails, gmail, the market and so on for a total of 1-2 hours. Lots of sms and some calls.
Check your sim card and if it's an old one change it with a 128k new one as it drains far less battery (it double your battery life)
Also a good battery calibration is very important (if not done well the phone never goes in deep sleep when it should) and doing 2 or 3 complete carghe/discharge cycles after the first calibration are very helpful.
Give it a try
Bye!
You can use over 2 days with minimum use. When I sleeping, My defy requires only 1% of battery an hour!

There's a lot of people that barely use his phone.
in a day i have the wifi on 6hs. send a receive a lot of sms. maybe a litle call. play a litle of angry birds and at the end of the day i have 30-40% of batery
anyone tried MIUI vs CM7 battery use ?
well on CM7 when i put screen off it goes to deep sleep
where as on MIUI when screen is off it still shows that it uses cpu @ 300mhz
i dont know whats wrong i feel that it uses battery more..
anyone any idea ?
My 'spare defy' (without SIM, only WIFI) reaches multiple times of uptime.
So turning the radio off or (at least) switching data connections off increases battery live a lot!

you must have left something on that prevents it from going into deep sleep. i always have the following off:
1. data
2. wifi
3. bluetooth
4. gps
5. background data
i only turn them on on-demand, ie, when i want to use them. i don't use "pushed" email or auto sync features.
if you don't see deep sleep in cpuspy on a high percentage, you won't get good battery life.
edit: some apps that run in background might prevents it from going into deep sleep as well. check to see if that's the case for you when using miui.
well so i moved to cm7 and boom...

Download from play store this app: Du Battery Saver&Switch Widget! I have this app since last week and it really works...
People in here are right. Greenify it's more than enough. But also Du Battery Saver can do the trick, what's great about it is that is lowering your CPU frequency when screenlock, so try them out.

Use screen settings as low as possible. Trust me, thats the main cause of fast battery drain.
Use Lux auto brighteness. Its a good app.
Next one , use titanium backup to freeze the app that you are not using. Its always a good to freeze app, so it wont run in the background and u can save RAM.
Use greenify. Thats the best app for hibernating the apps. That way both battery and RAM is saved.
And use DU battery Saver , thats also an awesome app. in which u can set the phone to change your profile on time basis, and lower frequency of cpu when screen is locked so battery is saved.
Hope u got some ways to prevent battery drain to a limit
Those apps are all great, but why have a HD Screen phone when you have to lower the screen brightness to a minimum, that sucks.

It's very simple, at du battery select saver at the bottom and create your own custom mode!
Thank you all for the responses, I will try out all the suggested apps and get back to you all. Thank you!
Keep the brightness around 35%. I find it perfect for indoors. Your screen on time should be atleast between 2:30 to 3 hrs on average.
Use darker wallpapers
And underclock to 1.2ghz or something if you dont use resource hungry apps. Use conservative governor and noop scheduler.
Trinity ROM
Screen brightness at 35%
Stamina mode on
Using greenify
Only 2G networks
Moderate Wi-Fi usage
Default CPU frequencies
Also, don't use battery savers like go battery saver and battery doctor, they only turn down brightness and data networks, alot of them don't have a great effect in battery life. Use apps that freeze/hibernate apps like greenify and snapdragomln battery guru.

so i did realise that you had your screen on alot of the time.... that is generaly 1 reason why , i can watch 8 hours straight of movies on my XS where as on a stock rom about 3 hours , so the XS battery realy depends
list
sometimes the battery will just need to be used normaly just so it can calibrate its self (some weird reason not using my XS for 2 days fixed my battery issues)
i suggest checking if there are any apps that run in the background, just remove them if you dont need them (could prevent your XS from sleeping and also a posible overheat)
I also suggest making sure that your brightness isnt too high, (obviess)
the more you use your XS the shorter the battery lasts day by day, it is nessicary to not use your xs too much as it will take a few days for the life to go back to normal ,(like i said i had a simular issue)
I can see a strange behavior of Mediaserver process. It consumes too much battery. Usually it points to the problem with scanning your media files.
You can use BetterBatteryStats to find out the cause of it.
So I ran into a peculiar problem.. I flashed my E971 (Unlocked, Canada) and I successfully installed the KitKat AOSP rom. No problems there. However, the optimus G has problems utilizing it's cores and it heats up, therefore, as we all know, it is recommended to keep the phone in EcoMode..........PROBLEM: There is no ecomode in KitKat rom! So now the phone heats up and I lost something like 40% battery power in one hour of use last night and I had data off, location off, sync off, brightness low, the only thing I had on was wifi.
Anyways, I can surely flash back to stock ROM but I really don't want to. Can someone recommend an app to manage the cores or some way to put the phone into "EcoMode" like was possible with Android 4.1.2?
I tried a few CPU manager apps but they mostly say "You phone doesn't support multiple cores"

Is it an hardware problem or there is something i can do?

I would try to Hard reset it first and see if it risolve your the problem or try greenify and hibernate apps, obviously not important for your use, that runs in background
Have the h811 and using the app but don't know if it's working. On slumber mode
Which app are you referring too?
The deep sleep battery app? That's the first relevant thing I found in the playstore. And the comments on it don't seem too good.
A lot of folks here will recommend the greenify app instead and picking the apps you want to go into a sleep mode until triggered to wake up.

To be honest, I have. I also know that it's working because I swipe down when my screen is off and I see that my mobile data has shut off. Last night, I fell asleep without charging my phone at 67% and woke up to.... 67%, I was asleep for about 6 hours. I came from the Sony Xperia Z2 and kept stamina mode on 24/7. I was able to pull off well over 30 hours with that phone. Using deep sleep battery saver (which was based off the same idea as Stamina mode) I definitely noticed a difference in idle battery. Of course, once you get into any sort of task with the screen on then that's a different story.
The LG G4 already had pretty amazing idle times but I have a lot of apps that loves to wake up the phone when I'm sleeping. Before the app, I noticed that I'd wake up to maybe a 5% drain at minimum over the course of 6~7 hours. Sometimes, when my apps update on their own, I'd notice a significant drop of maybe even 10%.
I paid for the app since it's pretty cheap but honestly, I don't notice any real benefit to having the paid version. The paid version allows you to set some whitelist apps which is what Sony's Stamina mode allowed. However, if you're okay with not having that control then the free version is more than enough. Who knows, maybe some people will benefit less from it :/
I just want to make a point that I am also using it in conjunction with Greenify. I'm not sure if using the two really bears any great benefits but under my impression, greenify hibernates user apps while deep sleep can basically prevent anything from accessing data since it also shuts off mobile data. I can't see how using the two would hurt so why not? It looks like they both do different things that combined would be a very powerful battery saver.

I didn't greenify any system apps. I just greenified every single user app that could potentially run while the phone was not in use. I also used tasker to force greenify my facebook app the minute the screen turns off instead of waiting for greenify to activate. I also used kernel adiutor to change the big core's governor to powersave and then changed the LITTLE core's governor to interactive.
Like I said in a previous post, I most use greenify for user apps as I kind of don't want to touch system apps at this moment. I use deep sleep battery saver for anything else that could potentially dodge greenify (like system apps that tries to access data). As all these settings so far are for when the screen is off, the Kernel Adiutor settings are for helping with battery life when the screen is on. I don't think the tasker setting is necessary as it very well could just be a placebo effect but I don't like how facebook isn't hibernated immediately.
So to sum it up; the settings I used:
Greenify all user apps
Use tasker to immediately greenify select apps that are power hungry
Use deep sleep battery saver
Use Kernel Adiutor and set big.LITTLE governors to powersave and interactive
**I should mention that I have the T-mobile H811 model which has an unlocked bootloader with a custom recovery.

Awesome, thanks for the informative reply. One question, wouldn't putting the CPU governor on powersave make the phone run really choppy/laggy? Also, I have the Verizon G4 no unlocked bootloader but root.

Most day to day tasks are done with the "LITTLE" cores while intensive tasks are done using the faster "big" so you won't normally notice any lag since the governor for the littles is interactive. I figured the only time I would really drain my battery is when I'm using intense tasks that would utilize the big cores. You will notice a little lag when in really heavy apps like the camera but it's really not that bad - it's not like a "I'm-going-to-miss-my-shot-because-it's-so-laggy" bad. Just give it a shot and you'll see what I mean. I don't use my phone for gaming but I do use it for almost everything else including streaming videos and I don't notice any lag other than in the camera - which, like I said, isn't that bad. If you do want to tweak around with the governor though, I high recommend Kernel Adiutor since it is compatible with the big.LITTLE system (meaning it can set the separate governor for both big and little cores) unlike Rom Toolbox Pro.
While I can bear with the slight lag for the extra battery life, you may not be able to take it. Your mileage may vary I guess. Battery life is much more important to me than high performance since I don't do anything intense like gaming or heavy rendering and I'm always on the go so I'm willing to make that sacrifice.
For me deep sleep has been giving me battery drain issues and uninstalled it after two days of use on slumber and my custom mode that didn't let no app awake and also the force tune cpu and what not yet still battery drain. With it off battery drains much much more less
