Ok, I opened up my droid to fix the charging port and somehow the little thingy that goes on top of the volume up button fell out and I was not able to locate now the volume up doesn't work and when I try to flash PG32IMG using bootloader it gets all the way to were it says press the volume up key to update and I cannot update because the fricken volume up key isn't working. Is there another way to flash PG32IMG onto the droid without using bootloader or any volume up key?? Can I somehow just flash with command prompt??? Please help. I've even tried pressing on the volume up part with a small screwdriver but nothing happens.

Hello
after flashing a custom rom , phone rebooted and wouldn't start .. it's stuck on HTC screen and restarts.
i tried going to bootloader using vol.down and power button but it doesn't load either
Keep holding power button and volume down button until it gets into bootloader. It may reboot twice but don't leave the buttons.

tried holding it , even after few reboots it just doesn't get into bootloader :/
U could try using adb commands
Adb reboot bootloader
open command line.
change directory to where the adb.exe is located and
then type as mentioned:
adb reboot bootloader.
if it doesn´t work type adb start server first.
HI all,
I've asked this question on the firmware thread, but I do not have an answer. So I'm trying here.
I installed the new firmware without any problems. But after the reboot I'm stuck on the white screen with the green logo, and I do not have connection with the computer via fastboot (waiting for device). As against the phone is communicating with the computer by HTC Sync or Windows Explorer.
What can I do?
Thanks

How did you install the firmware?
Have you tried fastboot from the bootloader?
thanks clsA
For mike's method (re-lock the bootloader and fastboot) :
1.If you are S-ON ---> Re-lock your bootloader (this will most probably wipe content of your device)
2.If you are S-OFF ---> no need to re-lock the bootloader.
3.Copy downloaded .zip to fastboot.exe location (e.g. c:/SDK/platform-tools/fastboot.exe)
4.Re-name .zip file to firmware.zip
5.Open command prompt
6.Boot your device in fastboot mode (vol down + power ===> fastboot)
7.Connect device to the PC
8.In command prompt cd to fastboot.exe location
9.Make sure you have correct modeid and cidnum (type: fastboot getvar all)
10.Type: fastboot oem lock (if your device is not relocked yet or in case it's S-ON)
11.Type: fastboot oem rebootRUU and wait for device to reboot
12.Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
13.Sometimes flashing for the first time doesn't work, so flash firmware.zip again just to make sure.
14.Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
15.Type: fastboot reboot
Currently I have no access to the bootloader
Although the phone is stuck on the white screen it rings when they call me
Turn off the phone holding power button for almost 15seconds till completely shut down. Then hold volume down and power button. You'll be able to enter boot loader. Also provide more details...version firmware, rom, etc
Are you flash a fw twice ?
Try to unlock bootloader and recovery again brother

I can not. The only possible action is Power and he returns on the white screen.

Yes, twice. And it was ok. I do not have access to the bootloader
You don't provide enough details. But for me it seems like you flash firmware with stock recovery and if you have custom Rom the phone won't boot. Are you sure you are shutting down the phone properly? Then hold volume down for a second. Then WITHOUT release the volume button hold down power WITHOUT release anything till I boot to boot loader?
The phone vibrates once and nothing happens. Still the white screen.
hold power + vol up....if the phone reboots...hold vol down...

Hey guys, I need some expert help and guidance. All of a sudden this phone decided to brick itself and I'm suspecting a hardware fault.
I've tried all the tutorials under the sun to reflash the device from fastboot, however I am now at a loss.
Recovery [power+down key] won't start - regardless which one I try. Essentially it would write the files with [OK] messages but it never really acts on them.
The phone was completely stock MM. Is there some good soul that can guide me with reviving this phone please?
Many thanks!
Can you access recovery by pressing power + volume up to get into fastboot and then select the Recovery using the volume and power key?

yes no problem getting to [fastboot mode!!!]. From there I tried to re-flash stock boot and recovery img files and it doesn't complain - however from fastboot, booting to recovery fails (ie. power+volume down] with a black screen.
Am thinking that this might be the most viable option right now -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-2-laser/help/links-asus-zenfone-2-laser-raw-service-t3526083

Sad day.. after running the flashall_AFT.cmd in one of the firmware files in the above thread, the processed ended with an error writing the userdata... slowly and surely, the screen faded away and the unit won't turn on at all.
I guess, this is the end of the road for my Zenfone 2 Laser
the volume buttons on my device don't work, and my android is on 8.0.0, I am wanting to upgrade to 9.0.5, but the device will not let me update with the bootloader unlocked, so I wonder if there is any way to do this without having to use the volume buttons, thanks in advance

I'm having the same issue today, try this. I will be performing the same thing today and will update you on how I do.
EDIT: Didn't see that you said your volume doesn't work. Whoops. There might be a way to reboot into ADB recovery. Try putting your device into Developer Mode, turn on Advanced Reboot, and when you hold down the power, press "Reboot" and then "Bootloader". Then just use ADB.

Go and turn on Advanced restart, click bootloader once holding the power button when the device is on then proceed to go to fastboot and type in the command
"fastboot oem lock"
then:
"fastboot erase userdata"
You will lose all your data (I think).
I need to do this to unlock bootloader but power button not working to select option any ideas plz?

Hi,
How long have you been holding the power button? You know this phone takes a long time to reboot pressing power button if it is stuck...
Tried holding power + volume down long enough? At least 20 seconds?
Good luck...
Sébastien.

Hey,
Try getting in device manager (assuming you use windows) and see if the device is detected when you plug/unplug an USB cable?
Sorry, nothing else I can really think of at the moment.
Good luck...
Sébastien.

Hi,
That means your device is not dead yet. It is soft bricked though. I don't know any way to unbrick this device, sorry...
You can read about: Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 on google if you don't know about it.
Good luck...
Sébastien.
Just wondering where you found this command to run
fastboot --set-active=other
Not sure if that caused your issue, but when you get back to bootloader or fastbootd, dont run that command. Get the boot img file ready from the android factory image zip, and when you do get to the bootloader menu, flash:
fastboot flash boot --slot all boot.img
As for your issue, try this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-fixing-hard-bricks-t3403868/amp/
If you can just get back to the bootloader menu, you will be fine. If you do see that no valid slot to boot, don't reboot, get the boot img flashed first, or you'll run into the same issue.
Do you have a case on your phone? If so, remove it. Sometimes cases prevent the power button to be pressed down properly. Hold power and vol down for 30 seconds. If you still can't get to a bootloader, try the link above.

Hello,
The link you provided is for another device / chipset ( LG ?). If @willli flash his device with those files, he may brick it permanently. Be careful advising people to do things you are not sure about... :good:
Cheers...
Sébastien.

Try this:
- Hold the Power button for 30-45 seconds
- if it turns on, turn it off (vibrates)
- Press the Power and Volume down buttons until you see Start.
- flash the stock boot.img to both slots
- fastboot flash boot --slot all boot.img
At one point when I first got my phone, blueline but pretty much the same, I had to hold the key combination for several minutes for it to start up. It was around 3-5 minutes, so I would just try holding it as long as you can.
