In that case, you need a factory cable.

Factory Reset
You said you installed and then you wiped system? Big mistake. Boot into recovery and mount, download that AOSP rom on your computer, copy itnto your Kindle, install, and wipe factory reset and cache.

Hard shut it off and wait a few seconds. Then Press the power button. Let go, then hold it until it says recovery at the bottom

So, what you're saying is...
When the device boots, and you use the power button to bring up the boot menu and select recovery, nothing happens?

[Q] Kinlde fire 2 no OS, cant get into recovery

I as flashing smoothrom and tried to reboot.
TWRP said their was no os installed but i stupidly rebooted anyway, now theirs no os and its bootloops.
I have a factory cable.
Ichigo said:
Be careful what you flash. SmoothROM is not a ROM for kf2.
Best bet would be to use the factory cable to reinstall recovery.

First, explain why you can't get into recovery. Describe exactly what you see when you boot it up.

[Q] Cant get into recovery , bricked

I had a rooted kindle fire 1st gen with twrp installed and attempted to install a custom rom and gapps. Once completed the kindle rebooted and went into the kindle fire logo then into cyanogenmod logo where it now sits for hours. Tried kindle fire utility and unbrick utility but it states "adb status: online bootmode : unknown". I have uninstalled and installed the drivers but nothing changes it still states bootmode unknown. I need to get back to twrp ..help! plz thanks

[Q] Kindle Fire TWRP install fail

Hello, I installed TWRP onto my kindle fire using KFU. I noticed some errors during the install but let it finish. Now it will not boot into recovery when selected it just hangs a bit then boots normal. I have tried several times to install it again but when its told to go into fast boot mode it just stays on white and blue logo screen saying press power button for boot menu. Any idea how I can fix this???
Thanks in advance!
When the device hangs at the blue and white Kindle Fire logo, that means it's in fastboot.
Use it to install TWRP manually.

Thank you for your help! I found my problem to be USB3.0!! Works great now..

Kindle first gen wont turn on and when plugged in the logo appears then blacks out.

I have a kindle fire first gen. When I try and turn it on it does not do anything. When I plug it in it flashes the word "kindlefire" then turn off. it does this aslong as its plugged in. I do not have a custom recovery install and it is not picked up by ADB. Can I fix it and if so how
Thanks

Depends on you, do you want to wait, do you have the parts? A factory made one is probably better.
