Hey,
i've got a little problem. I can't use most of the calendar apps. I think it's because i use LiteROM which is based on stock UCALJ3 and this rom doesn't provide a CalendarProvider.apk. Of course i could use a stand-alone calendar app which doesn't depend on the android calendar thing but i would rather use the android calendar way because i can use different backends like caldav which most stand-alone calendar apps don't support.
I tried copying the CalendarProvider.apk from my CM10 Xperia Sola but it didn't worked.
My question is: is there a way to make it work? would a cm9 CalendarProvider.apk work because it's ics?
greetings chris

I'm sorry to post here, because i dont have the right to post at dev forum.
I flashed pays-rom 2.1, and use Jorte . i just want to synchronize Jorte with my google calendar, but when i set the jorte , it always report error and crash when i open the calendar setting.
i recovery BlurCalendar.apk , BlurCalendarProvider.apk and CalendarSync.apk , and i fix that.
so, i want to know what other original apks cannot be removed?
If you want to be able add new events in the stock calendar, you'll also need the BlurEmailEngine.apk. those are the 4 apks you'll need to get the stock calendar fully working (I prefer it to jorte). I haven't found any others missing as of the v2.2 rom

Thank you for that information. Just for everybody else looking for this information, extract these files from the extra blur addon package that Pays publishes. Then you can put these files back in /system/app, for example with a short batch file. Then reboot, and you will have the stock calendar back.
Although the calendar is now working again, unfortunately my Android Agenda Widget isn't (others are working just fine).
Anybody any idea how to restore that functionality? Thanks in advance.
After a few month with GB roms, i want to try the ICS rom (sandvold).
Problem: i can't sync my google contacts with the ICS rom. (calendar and browser works, google mail and contacts not).
I did a clean install, stockboot, full wipe,....
Is there a way to sync the contacts?
Some more information would be nice. For example which of Sanvold's versions are you using?
0.3.6, the last one.
With MIUI Au 2.1.20 the same problem :/
Should work on 0.3.6 Reflashed it allready?
And it's set to sync in settings? Works fine for me...
Just updated to official JellyBean (Polish), although rooted and deoxed.
Now again the original Google calendar (with pinch zoom timeline) is gone.
Does anybody know where to get the AOSP Google calendar.apk and how to install it (I don't want to re-install all gapps as a bulk brute-force effort)?
Also, with 4.0.4 adding AOSP calendar.apk to SAmsung official TW rom resulted in double Calendar alerts: one from S Planner and another from AOSP calendar.apk. Is there a way to solve this?
Thanks for all the help (yes, I've tried searching, but haven't found a solution yet).
EDIT: have tried the following:
1) Attempt to install CalendarGoogle.apk (taken from original JB AOSP apk files thread) from internal sdcard (fails, even if "install from unknown sources" is enabled, result is: "Application not installed))
2. Copy calendargoogle.apk to /system/app/ and reset the permissions to proper state with Root Explorer & reboot & build Dalvik cache (app is nowhere to be accessed).

Just install Android 4.1 Jellybean Calendar by Tim Hutt from the Play Store. Works a treat.

That's actually almost ICS 4.0 calendar, not the fully functional 4.1 Jelly Bean Calendar ("I had to disable a few new features from Jellybean that don't work on ICS" as the author says).
So close, but not quite the same.
I am running JB after all, not ICS.
Anybody have an idea how to get AOSP Google Calendar (full JB version) to run on TW JB builds?

hi all
i have a copy of the ICS phone and contacts apk's from here
BUT i'm not able install the apk's as the installer complains that there is a apk with the same name....
i've looked in /system/app and can;t see phone.apk or contacts.apk anywhere.
Can anyone please assist ?
Did you ever figure this out? I would like to keep my stock touchwiz rom with the multiwindow feature, but I would much prefer, the vanilla ics/jb phone and contacts app.
I am sharing this link to the new Google apps taken from the latest Android Lollipop preview ROM.

I try Gmail and Calendar on my rooted Touchwiz based KK 4.4.2 rom, they work flawlessly.
I love them, especially the new Gmail that supports other emails. Now I can get rid of the stock Email app.
Credit to @USAN03, the OP of the thread. And, I am not responsible for any bad things caused by installing those apps

Could you give us quick tutorial how you made it work ? On my KK 4.4.2 rom it won't install when I put apks in priv-apps. I'm on Blekota 7.0.
Thanks.
I just installed them like normal APKs, over the existing versions, then rebooted. Just checked, both APK files are now in /data/app/.
I'm on QS-i9300-KK v2.8+ rom. Gmail and Calendar work fine.
