is it possible to restore a backup file (.semc full-backup) on 6503, which I made on 4.1.2 and now I want to restore it on 4.2.2?
when I try to do it with backup and restore function it says: "Selected backup records cannot be used due to incompatible software versions. Please select a more recent backup file."
is there any other way to do it?

I made a backup when i first decided to flash a ROM on my phone, but i didn't know about apps like titanium backup at that time, where i can just backup an app or game and also backup the data along with it.
is there a way to get into any of the image files from the nandroid backup and retrieve data like game saves/data and stuff?
You could always backup your current ROM, restore the old ROM, install titanium, restore your current ROM and use titanium to get back the old stuff.

Do a search for a tool like unyaffs. You can use it to extract the data partition from your nandroid backup. Then you can grab the data from whatever apps you are trying to restore individually and copy the files back to your phone.
Today I was restoring user apps via titanium backup in my new ROM JB Soucery.I selected the batch to restore, after 20% it got stuck.after that I can't restore any user apps.it says restoring but doesn't restore. What to do???

Use this version of EFS pro, newer versions don't play nicely with our phones
If you make a standard nandroid backup, but skip the data backup, you can restore your EFS anytime.

Hi,
Of course you can use GalaxSim Unlock to restore your EFS backup. The backups made by other tools for this device will contaion the same data. By default, it will restore the EFS folder. If you check "advanced mode" in settings, you can chose to restore the whole partition.
Unfortunately, I've had a look at your data : you seem to have lost your stock EFS data (I suppose you IMEI might be wrong). Unfortunately if you don't have a backup made before you lost it, you can't do much to restore your imei.

I rooted my sony xperia zl today. I created a backup of my contacts and sms with my sony backup and restore application before rooting my device. But after rooting, that backup and restore app is not available in my phone. But i have backup files saved in my memory card named .semc-fullbackup. So tell me how to restore data from that file. I am unable to install sony backup and restore apk as it says installation failed. Please help me out.
Thank you.
I've got a good TWRP backup of my phone, on 5.1.1. Phone now has CM13 (running awesome), and am trying to restore SMS via Nandroid Manager, I get the following error:
The following error occurred package com.h3r3t1c.bkrestore does not belong to 1001 nothing was restored.
Thoughts? Any easier way to extract and restore text messages from a TWRP backup? Compatability issue between 5.1.1 -> 6.0 messaging?
I faced the same problem. Titanium Backup Pro worked.
Having the exact same issue...
How did you end up solving the problem???
I've got a good nandroid backup of my Oneplus one now updated from 5.1.1 to 6.0 CM13 (also running Awsommme {high tone of voice}) and I'm now thinking if it's possible somehow to extract my SMS/MMS from the nandroid backup or do I have to through the whole process of backing up, restoring the old nandroid, backing up SMS with a 3rd party application and then restoring back again to the latest nandroid backup...
Any suggestions any1?! Or should I just go along with the above described headache??
Seeing the same error here on my Galaxy S4 when trying to restore SMS messages through Nandroid Manager...
The batch restore gives me the same error, but if you go in the "export and explore" menu, "explore text messages", you can restore individual threads one at a time. this worked perfectly for me.
