Hi
I have HTC Wildfire phone and i'm using Gingerplayme rom. it's 2.3 and cm7 based. and the problem is that date and time changes to wrong one. it happens even when i have date and time set on manually. Sometimes it changes every few minutes, sometimes after few hours. I noticed that it happens only when data transfer is on. This problem doesn't happen on cm9 based roms. Does anyone know what coul be the reason of it and how to solve this?

it seems like i have rebooted my device at least 2 times a day for something every day now since i got the phone on saturday and installed custom rom cm7 nightly 2.
usually its because the pictures i take dont show up in an album, or the phonebook didnt seem to want to come up, or something else small. its not however restarting on its own, and im not counting all the reboots i do by messing with changing fonts or updating something else that requires a reboot.
should i just not touch the thing for a few days and see if it gets a little better?
I have never had to do reboots due to things like that. I tried CM7 and things worked fine for me, and now that im on GV 1.5, still no problems. Im not too sure, but could it be a conflict with some settings or installed apps? Has it been like this since the first day you flashed the rom?
if your picture isn't showing up in album, have you tried unmount and remount SD card?
I do not think having to reboot every day, I personally do not do it.
1. not too sure as after install i did a lot of downloading of a few apps
2. never tried the mount/unmount thing. ill give that a shot.
I reboot my phone daily.
Been using CM7 nightlies since build #30. Haven't needed to do a reboot to fix a feature yet.
Haven't needed to I just do it once a day or every other day. Just for good measure something I learn in my years of owning ppcs. Plus I don't use a task manager with android so that way maybe.

Hi all.
After i S-OFF and flashed cm7 hboot i have a strange issue..
Everytime i pull the battery for some reason like taking off the sdcard.. When i boot phone the clock is always reseted.. Like 0:00 of 1/1/1980...
It happens with all roms i try.. Like insertcoin and cm7..
Even if i set the automatic get settings from network in clock options.. Is the same..
Any clue about this? Thanks
Do you have to set the clock manually? I think it's normal that your clock gets resetted when you pull your battery.

It is normal if you pull the battery while the phone is turned on, but as long as it's powered off properly it shouldn't reset. If you're using a Sense 1.9/2.1/3.0 ROM, make sure its off and not hibernating.
Yap... Clock is manual.. But manual or automatic is the same problem... And yes i shutdown first lol not hibernating...
Never happen this.. Just after S-OFF
Weird
same problem
After S-OFF to? Did you flashed cm7 hboot?
Weird... The wifi settings and other settings are ok..
Till now the only problem i discovered it was the clock
Been searching the forums to see if anyone has same issue as me - sounds like you do, but mine seems to have more serious consequences:
[apologies for the length of this post, but thought it may help to supply all the detail]
Have had my Desire rooted with S-Off (Alpha-Rev 1.8) for some time, but the last couple of months I started to have some strange problems. After much analysis, seems that every time I take the battery out (doesn't matter whether pulled when running or properly shut down first) the phone resets the time and date to 00:00 and 6 Jan 1980 (1980 being the earliest available year the phone can be set too).
The phone will not then re-establish the correct time and date when set to automatic (whether from Wi-fi or network, however much you play around with it or disconnect/reconnect). If that was all I could cope, but to make matters worse this seems to also cause a permanent sync failure/error with my gmail account (contacts, mail and calendar all refuse to sync thereafter - sometimes getting a message saying sync unavailable and will be back soon). There is NOTHING that will fix this aside from a full factory data reset (and of course having to reset everything up and reinstall all my apps from Titanium back up) - Have tried deleting gmail data (as described on google's tech support page), reflashing a back up of my current ROM, but nothing else works
Even after reflashing to RUU stock (in preparation for returning under warranty, which also contained HBoot update and wipes S-Off) still the same problem exists, meaning I can NEVER take the battery out and just have to keep recharging it (even though I have a spare battery if I go away for weekends etc).
I'm guessing, like on a pc, there must normally be a built in battery on the motherboard to maintain the clock date/time settings when the battery is removed, but that this is faulty? Perhaps the phones inability to then re-establish the correct date/time from the network/wi-fi is the reason the gmail sync fails? On the other hand, after full data reset when setting the phone up again if does pick up the correct date, time and time zone but says "unable to detect time zone", so perhaps there's a different fault going on?
Having exhausted every option, am now returning to HTC under warranty (much to my anoyance)
I was having the same problem when using insertcoin nightly everytime..
Now im on cm7 and the problem is gone..nothing changed..only the rom..strange anyway

My phone seems to be experiencing random lockups/screen freezes. These seem to be more frequent when I have the mobile internet activate and i’m in a lower signal area or when I try and end a call through my cars Bluetooth handsfree system but they can happen any time, even sometimes when rebooting the phone, pulling the battery after a lockup has occurred and switching back on, the phone will reboot but freeze once again on the unlock screen.
I have not updated the radio, I am currently on version 5.11.05.27, as I have heard all manner of stories about bricked devices, but could this be the issue or is it more likely to be the sd card, or something else completely?
Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated as am going to break the back cover of my phone soon, with the number of times am having to pull the battery.
I've ordered a new sd card to see if that will make a difference. The last time I used CWM to create the ext partition, should I do it this way again when the new card arrives or try a different way?
try using gparted live cd to create a partition, but i do not think your problem lies with your sd card
have you tried another rom to see if the problem persists?
Ok, i'll try the gparted method next time.
Yeah the first rom I tried was Gingerburst, that seemed to be ok to start with but sense would crash quite often and then the screen freezes started, so I moved to leedroid and although sense never crashes, the screen lockups have continued. I have looked on various other rom threads and i noticed on the Insertcoin webpage there has been a lot of mentions about the latest kernals causing screen locks, so I might try Insercoins v1.1.3, which everybody seems to be reverting back to and see if I have any more success with that.
I have recently tried InsertCoin CM7/STOCK 1.1.3 and again I seem to be experiencing screen freezes which always seem to be happening when the signal is low or when travelling in the car so possible signal fluctuations.
Does anybody have an ideas on how to fix this issue, would flashing the newest radio help and if so what is the best/easiest way to do it? or could it be a kernel issue, if so what do you all recommend.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I would have the freeze issue only in camera mode, otherwise its fine...probably some glitch in my phone, try full wipe n reinstall
I see that this tread is quite old, but i have the same issue with screen freezing. I was useing Leedroid 3.3.3 port on my HTC desire, for 2,5 month and then it started. Ive been trying everything form more than a month now (factory reset, installing aps one by one....) How did you solve the problem if you did at all? or what was the couse
Thx
Do you use software / scripts to control CPU frequencies / voltages?

Well i thought of this as well since the freezing started around the same time as i installed SetCPU (+/- a couple of weeks) but since the 2nd factory reset and installation of apps one by one i excluded the program but the problem still occures.
Also PowerAMP was a problem since i dont install it the freezing is not as ferquent (only every 2nd day not every day....)
I've read it somewhere that UV can couse the porblem, but i've never change that.
Also if i have more apps installed then dose my cpu required higher UV? If yes so then i can try to higher their default level.
im currenty using liteROM 0.9.0 first 3 days work fine, but after i found this problem.. can anyone help me..
+1.
My phone.android repeatedly shut down in Gingerbread. Only fix i could find was upgrading to ICS.
when arldft
Hmmm.... that is weird, i´m also using LiteRom 0.9, never had that issue, first time i flashed the custom rom i did see that message a couple of times, but no big deal just reeboot and no probs. after that though i decided to install the rom from scratch, never had an issue with it since. only problem ive had is the toggle for gps sattelites and mobile connection giving me some issues, nothing a reeboot cant resolve.
my advice would be to backup all your info & apps and start from scratch. or boot to CWM and fox permissions.
hope i helped
I had similar issues with GB. I was using the latest Osimood rom. Upon receiving a call, my phone screen would go blank (the way it normally does when switching to a call) but then it would freeze. The ringtone would not ring and after a few seconds of this, the phone would go back to the last app and the network signals would be gone. After a few more seconds, the network signals would be back. The same thing would happen if I received another call. The only fix was to reboot the phone.
The annoying part was that there would be NO way for me to tell who was calling me since I would never see their name and no entry would be made in the phone log. I didn't have any success with treating that problem. While it didn't happen very often, the few times it did would be very annoying since I'd often find out several hours later that I had missed an important call.
I've just switched to Pacman rom today in the hopes that this was a rom issue and will be gone now. Let's see.
Hi All,
I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on an issue I'm having. It is occurring with Franco Kernel, and it also used to happen with BluSpark, and with EX. I'm not sure it was happening on stock, as I have been flashing custom kernels since at least the Oreo betas.
Frequently when my OP5T (re)joins a public wifi (here in London it's on the Underground), it freezes and reboots. It's not every time it rejoins the network, but it is happening every day, several times. It's the sort of network with a sign in splash screen. It is driving me crazy.
Does anyone have any idea why this is? Is it likely to be a custom kernel issue (since I hear that OP custom kernels use a different WiFi solution than the stock kernel)? I don't want to go back to stock permanently since I like the SOT and the sound mods on custom kernel.
I've just flashed stock kernel again and will see if that fixes things, but I'd prefer a solution that still allows for bumping up the volume (already using V4A).
As always thank you all!
This is still happening to me... Does anyone have any idea of how to troubleshoot this. I have reinstalled stock kernel... still same problem. Dirty flashed the beta again... still a problem. It only seems to be happening with one specific (unfortunately useful) wifi network, the London Underground WiFi.
The Wifi icon gets the little circle with the 'x' in it, then the whole phone freezes. It doesn't happen every time the phone rejoins the network, but about every 4th or 5th time.
Someone has recommended factory resetting... but I'm not sure that's not a nuclear option at this point. Any idea WHAT might be causing it and is there a way to just tackle that?
help?!
