[Q] Rumrunner Help - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Some background: my phone is htcdev unlocked and running TWRP
I have tried to get support from the two irc channels listed in the Rumrunners post, maybe I just have bad timing or something but I wasnt able to talk to anyone in there.
I have tried running the exploit on both Ubuntu and Win 7 but it fails at the same place "Waiting for device"
Code:
Checking for updates......
Test 1: Rebooting into bootloader
Waiting for fastboot (8/120)
Waiting
Test 2: Booting device
Waiting for ADB (28/120)
Device detected.....................
[--------------------------------------
Rebooting into bootloader (again)
Waiting for fastboot (8/120)
Waiting for ADB (30/120)
Waiting for device
Waiting for device
ERROR: run rumrunner again.
Press ENTER to exit
It always fails at "Waiting for device". It did get past that and go through 10 pourings but that ended with a WTF error, I have tried to recreate what I did to get that far but so far I havent had any success.
If anyone could help me get this exploit working I would greatly appreciate it.

I was just able to get S off via the method but i wasnt HTCdev unlocked. i'd read through the main Forums with the links for S off. I'm pretty sure you need to be on stock rom and have your bootloader relocked (was reading every post trying to figure out my own issues)

[Q] DHD root attempt / Unbootable DHD

Hey guys,
I tried to root my DHD, but it didn't go as as smooth as I expected and at the moment my DHD won't boot anymore.
First I would like to say I read the manual carefully several times, and I searched for a answer, I found some related problems but they were so different to my problem that I couldn't find any answers in it.
First I ran the AAHK, chose for a downgrade and then I got something like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822347
Except, I got stuck at the HBOOT menu, and nothing happened. When I rebooted my phone, it worked just fine, but it wasn't downgraded.
I tried to repeat this proces a couple of times, but it didn't help.
But then, suddenly, it did work to start downgrading, but in the end it gave an error:
************* Downgrade failed *************
** Either:
** GoldCtixiard/SDCard failed
** USB connections are not working 100%
************* Downgrade failed *************
After my DHD rebooted, and after the HTC screen, it showed red exclamation mark/triangle. It is still like this, and my phone won't boot, but i'm still able to get in HBOOT.
It is somewhat like this, but I know i haven't downgraded.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134318
Some help would be greatly appriciated!
P.S.
I really tried to figure it out myself first, but after searching, reading and searching, I found no good answer. If anyone finds this annoying or offensive in any way, im sorry.
I think your sdcard is corrupted as a goldcard. Try a new one.
I checked the SD card. It reads and writes fine on Mac and PC.
The biggest problem is that i can't connect my DHD (in HBOOT) to AAHK using Mac. AAHK says ''Error detecting HTC phone on USB conncetion''
I also tried factory reset in HBOOT, but it didn't help.
Anyone got an idea?

For the connection, try a Linux LiveCD; I don't know anything about Macs. For the sdcard, whether it is corrupted for use as a goldcard does not affect whether you can access the data on it.
I'm not an expert, but aren't OSX and Ubuntu quite similar, regarding the environment? Nonetheless, I am going to try the Ubuntu LiveCD tomorrow!
Is there another solution so that i'm at least able to boot the phone normally?
Thanks for the help so far.
Run a ruu from bootloader thrall get u back
So you mean I should follow these instructions?

That is the stock recovery. You have on screen instructions that you are apparently not following. That will flash a RUU but first use tacoroot to achive temp root. All that is describe in the Hack Kit session on screen. You won't be able to flash a ruu from hboot unless there's a ruu for your phone and your main version and CID match.
The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind.....
At the moment i don't have any on screen instructions, because I cant connect my phone to my PC/Mac. AAHK says ''Error detecting HTC phone on USB conncetion''.
I'm trying to find a solution so that i can at least boot my phone again. I know I am new to this, but i'm trying to do my best..
So i cant connect to AAHK, what is the best way to fix this problem?

What is your main version and cid number??
Boot the phone in fastboot usb and then plug it to the pc (you will see fastboot usb in red). Then, in the pc open a cmd as admin and type:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Paste here the INFOcidnum and INFOmain data. DO NOT PASTE your IMEI here.

I did just like you said. When I connect to the pc, fastboot usb is in red. I opened cmd as admin, typed, but nothing happened.
I get ( this is translated from Dutch ) :
"fastboot is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."
When I plugged it in, my pc gave a message about a device being plugged in, but nothing happened after that.
I saved everything that happened in the terminal, when I attempted to root. Would that be of any help?

Do you have adb and fastboot installed? run the hack Kit once and let it install adb and fastboot.
I downloaded the Android SDK, wich I saw includes adb and fastboot
I typed fastboot getvar all, and then the cmd screen says waiting for device...
When I tried this before ( when I hadn't downloaded the android sdk ) nothing at all happened. So something must have changed for the better..
In the AAHK i still get ''phone not plugged in'''( windows )
However, when I boot the phone ( volume down + power ), after a few seconds it says:
PD89DIAG.ZIP
Loading...
No Image!
PD89IMG.ZIP
Loading
No Image! ( Or wrong image .. )
After that it returns to the standard menu..

Hack kit won't work from fastboot. Or your driver is not correctly installed or you have issues with USB connectivity. Uninstall the driver from control panel and then re install it with the device unplugged. Once it is installed, plug, the phone and let it install properly

I can't seem to connect my phone to pc and/or mac
I even installed HTC Sync, but since the phone can't boot, it wont connect to any device using USB.
I know it isn't bricked, I still can get into HBOOT, but it just wont boot, and it won't connect using USB ( at least until now.. )
Is there a way to fix this? Will it fix anything to do a factory reset using a stock rom? ( just guessing )
Would it be helpfull to post everything that happened in the terminal while i was attempting to root? I saved it in a textfile..
Thanks for the help so far.

Yes that might be helpful. If your main was lowered and you have temp root, that will take just a while to fix it. Otherwise will not be that easy. Do you mind If I have a look at it over teamviewer?
I think my main was lowered ( or ot least changed ), but i dont think i dont have temproot. In HBOOT it still displays S-ON.
I will PM you the data concerning the rooting session.

Help unlocking bootloader!

Hey guys, I'm trying to root my girlfreind's verizon galaxy nexus and I can't even get past the first step of unlocking the bootloader! I've tried using the Nexus all in one tool kit without much success. The script reboots the phone into the bootloader screen but then the script hangs at "waiting for device". And nothing happens after that. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Here's some additional info on the phone:
Android version 4.1.1
Build number JRO030O
Sounds like you need to install the proper drivers.
Try doing it the real way.
Setup adb/fastboot then
fastboot oem unlock
Approve and it's done.
Hmm...tried doing manually and didn't have any luck. I'm guessing I'm leaving something out. I ran "adb devices" and it shows the phone. Then I type "fastboot oem unlock" and it stalls. The screen sits at "waiting for device". Any suggestions?
Also, can anyone post a link to the most recent drivers for this phone using a windows XP computer?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Eric

ADB is only used in custom recovery or booted into OS
Fastboot is used in fastboot/bootloader only
you dont interchange them. fastboot oem unlock only works when the device is in fastboot/sitting in bootloader
Thanks a bunch guys. I really appreciate the help.
I went thru the steps in the link Zepius suggested again and discovered the problem. As suggested in the directions, I had to go into device manager and update/install drivers for the USB interface manually. Took me a bit to figure this out as I'm pretty new to this stuff, but I found the drivers and got that fixed. After that the "fastboot oem unlock" command worked and I unlocked the bootloader. Now on to the next roadblock....
Again, many thanks. That was really frustrating.
Eric

Question on Fastboot USB drivers

I've previously managed to get my tokenID from htcdev without any problems on various handset but lately I've come across a few issues.
For example I'm trying to unlock the bootloader for this DesireHD but when trying to get the tokenID I get an error saying no devices attached.
My computer has installed the correct drivers and it shows up on device manager. I am able to 'adb devices' when the handset has booted up but when in fastboot / bootloader nothing comes up when running the same command.
Is it something to do with my Android SDK folder?
Is there a way to come around this because if I want to do similar process with other devices I need to understand what I need to do before.
Thanks

Adb does not work in bootloader, just with a fully booted device. You have to use fastboot command in fastboot usb

Help needed to Relock Moto Z Play (XT1635-02/RETGB) bootloader and update from 6.0.1

Ok guys I really need you help. I honestly feel like im losing it as I have not been able to make any progress with this. Believe me I have tried other threads to no avail....
Ok so, I bought this phone but the problem with it is that I cant use google pay due to its unlocked bootloader (bought it like this second hand). I'm on really old firmware (6.0.1, 1 September 2016 Security Patch) as you can see very behind from Oreo or whatever the latest firmware is because I cant get OTA updates due to the unlocked bootloader.
I'm literally just asking for a simple, noob friendly guide which will allow we to relock it and update to the latest firmware so my phone will be perfectly fine for work use.
Please guys. Apologies if I sound annoyed but this has been bugging me for ages. Let me know if I should add anything else.
Much appreciated guys!
EDIT: I Used this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/how-to/guide-relock-bootloader-to-lasted-stock-t3718190 and followed it exactly and enable USB debugging but keep getting "<waiting for any device>"?

Hmm, with the 'waiting for device' issue, do you have the Motorola drivers installed on the computer? https://support.motorola.com/uk/en/drivers Also, if you are running Windows 10 or 8.1, verify that you have driver signature enforcement disabled on your computer, so the Motorola fastboot driver can load properly: https://www.howtogeek.com/167723/ho...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/ or you can try to manually load the fastboot driver when your device is connected to your computer. This should then help your computer communicate with your device when you boot your device to the bootloader for flashing the stock ROM.
Verify also that you have a high quality USB data cable (preferably the original cable) and that you've got your device connected to a powered USB 2.0 or 3.0 port. Double-check the communication between your computer and your device - boot your device to the bootloader, connect to your computer. Open the ADB terminal and enter 'fastboot devices' (without quotes) into the terminal. Press Enter. If communication is working, this command should return your device serial number.
For that guide as well, you do not need to be on a custom ROM to follow it. If you do get your device talking, then extract the stock ROM as per the guide to your ADB folder, and execute both sets of commands to re-lock your bootloader. Be aware that the re-locking will erase your device, so back up if you have not already. OTA updates are not dependent on unlocked/locked bootloader status - as long as you have a firmware build that was deployed on the retgb software channel, you should get OTA updates regardless of whether your bootloader is unlocked or not. However, as you correctly point out, Android Pay does care about the bootloader unlocked status, however, rooting with magisk (to hide your bootloader unlocked status) may help you get Android Pay working if you want to keep your bootloader unlocked. Depending on your work IT requirements though, you may want a locked bootloader and no root to be compliant with the IT regulations.
Good luck either way.

I have now installed the program but get "There are no updates for your device at this time. Current Version: N/A"? My USB debugging is enabled.
Thanks for the detailed reply mate. Im going to get some new cables and follow your advice. Might take me a few days as i'm busy with work but definitely am looking forward to fixing my phone once and for all!
Omg it works. I downloaded the Motorola program and opened up adb minimal fastboot whilst in usb debugging. I just pasted everything and it started to work!...oh I also held the volume down button whilst the phone was turning on so it went to a screen with the android mascot. Then I pasted the codes to adbmininal fastboot.
Thanks for all you help mate !!
You can get OTA updates even if your bootloader is unlocked.

Unable to install adb drivers

Hello,
I have tried installing the google drivers and the drivers from the Razer support site, but I keep getting the error message 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)'.
I would like to lock the bootloader.
I have tried running adb reboot bootloader into command prompt, then running fastboot oem lock but it just comes up with < waiting for device > and nothing I have done has resolved this.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated .
try these ones: https://adb.clockworkmod.com/
those are the only drivers working with my newer PC, AMD x470 Chipset
If you still have problems you can try using an older Windows 7 like Laptop
