have you tried just reflashing the rom? Some apps wont work correctly if you dont flash it correctly.
Make sure you flash the gapps correctly as well. Try reflashing it and let me know how it goes.

Check to make sure you're not signed in on your computer or another device. If that doesn't help, uninstall updates for each, clear data and reboot.
Open the store and 're enter your information, then after it loads, back out of it and wait several minutes. It should reupdate, and you can try again.

I've had this problem, which has even followed me from my SGH-T999 to a SGH-T999L (stock, neither rooted) when I had to change phones. Specifically Google Now and Google Voice wouldn't sync when on wifi, and this was true not only at home (ie not router-related). All other internet services, including Gmail and Play would work on wifi, and both worked fine on cellular.
Even before I switched phones I did a factory reset and it worked for a little while and then came back. And same after I switched phones. My hunch is that there was some corrupted setting that kept getting restored from backup. Recently I tried clearing data for Google Services Framework and a few other google apps, and again that worked for a day or two, then reverted.
So tonight, based in part on DocHoliday77s advice, I tried the following steps (after Helium backup, to be on the safe side):
1. Logged out of Chrome on my desktop
2. Removed the google account from the phone (settings->accounts->google->sync)
3. Killed all apps running (Advanced Task Killer), for what it's worth
4. Cleared data from every google app (or at least all the ones that looked like google services) one by one in the application manager (all apps)
5. Rebooted phone
So far so good--everything restored easily (much easier than a factory reset), and as with prior resets it's working fine on wifi. But I've been burned before so my enthusiasm is tempered...
Update 5/22/2014:
It's been working continuously since then. There were a few apps which lost their bearings--must have been linked to Google Services, but resetting was minor. Google Voice will still occasionally lose the ability to connect on wifi, but now a simple reboot fixes the problem.
I hope this helps someone in the same situation!

:fingers-crossed:

Android Market/YouTube not working

Hi guys,
Its happened again. I started a thread about a problem I had with my android market when I suddenly couldn't download anything..just stuck at "downloading" with the stripes scrolling endlessly. Its just reappeared. Along with the similar problem with the youtube app "there was a problem while playing this video. touch to retry". I reflashed my ROM with ODIN, then wiped all app data then out of frustration..hard reset. Lost all the apps. STILL NOT WORKING. Clearly some Google Account problem. I lost. My wonder feels like a brick without the market working. I had a google account problem when I first bought the phone and had to use a workaround involving setting up a youtube channel. Now I'm really lost.
What kinda Google Account problem?
You on someone's blacklist or what??
Forgive my curiosity....you in China?? GFW??
Sent from my GT-I8150 on Lanzarote Canary Vacation using Tapatalk
No I'm not in China, I'm in Ghana in West Africa. I updated three apps last nite on my work WiFi. Before that I'd tried doing it with my 3G network but it was stalling like it is now. When it worked on the WiFi I just thought it was fine. Then tried using the market this morning on my home WiFi and thats when the panic set in. It just seems its not a problem locally on my phone since I've literally WIPED IT CLEAN it but the market still not working. Starts the download, the stripes begin scrolling and continue endlessly. Its as if the google account is malfunctioning somehow but I don't know....
OK.....
You try clear cache and data on Market App in Settings/Applications/Manage
Or maybe fix permissions in Clockwork and Dalvik Cache....

I've cleaned every cache..no good. Done a hard reset(lost all my apps!)..still no good. Can you elaborate on fixing clockwork/dalvik?(Don't have custom recovery installed by the way but have root and TTB Pro installed)

Hi again
Reading through your posts.... you seem to have tried almost everything.....
including reflashing ROM...
which ROM you use.....??
So my suggestion regarding Dalvik Cache and Fix Permissions may be redundant.....however, there I'd an option in Titanium Bkup to repair Dalvik....
Menu/more/Clean up Dalvik.....
Also, there is an App on Market to allow Fix Permissions, but, AFAIK, only 1 App at a time....can you get Market on PC/Laptop???
[Fix permissions is Linux thing, ensuring each file has correct "permissions".]
Perhaps apk can be download and side loaded on phone!!!!
Maybe try install ClockworkMod Recovery[CWM] ......it is in the forum, you can flash with ODIN or push with adb.
This will allow you to any least create Backup[Nandroid].....so you will always be able to restore your full phone contents, Apps, etc.

Thanks for the concern Irish. I indeed cleared the Dalvik(twice) with TTB before my eventual hard reset. Now there's an update to all this:
-Setup another google account and immediately was able to download a few apps while my phone was stuck on Edge(My mobile data fluctuates between 3G and 2G at home even though I do have 3G most of the time).
-My luck even lasted after the signal switched to 3G(still got two or three apps in) after which I switched to my home wifi to see if it was really fixed...but no. Once I switched to the wifi I was back to square ONE. Switching back to the mobile data network didn't help.
-HOWEVER, at work last nite, I used the wifi at work and the market WORKED flawlessly. Didn't miss a step. Got back the bulk of my 40+ lost apps thankfully.
NOW:
I guess this has more to do with my ISP at home which happens to be my cellular network provider as well(Vodafone GH). But I'm really at a loss now. Even if it was due to some new restrictions by vodafone wouldn't there be a way around it? I know about Android Market and port 5228 and all but I doubt vodafone would block the market when they've got the GS2/Tab on their portfolio. And I've got some evidence that my workplace ISP is a client to...VODAFONE. What a mess!!!
Thanks for your concern though. I'll look for the fix permissions app since that could make a difference. Its the only thing I havent tried anyway! Maybe it'll have to be next time I'm at work(If I cant find the apk).
PS:-I use the XEU unbranded rom (I8150XXLA2_OXXKL4_XEU (2.3.6)). Bought my phone in the UK sim-free
-My WiFi at home is 802.11g while that at work is 802.11n. Both have worked flawlessly with my Wonder and specifically my android market until now.
OK man.....hope you get it fixed.
Don't forget also CWM recovery will allow you backup total phone existing setup.....
so, if you lose stuff again, you only need to restore your backup to recover all Apps, data, everything on your phone.....
so no need to restore Apps again to get back to where you were before crash.
BTW.....fix permissions from Market:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.stericson.permissionfix&hl=en
Although it is pretty basic!!!! But it's from Stericsson.....he is dev for best Busybox Installer!!!!
Honestly, from what you say, I would suspect your home WiFi, you check router settings, etc.
BTW....TB does not completely wipe Dalvik....just repairs what it think's is missing.....
If you had CWM....you could completely wipe this, and run fix permissions. after making.g Nandroid bkup.....
Also, if you used V6 Turbo charger Memory Management Script....there is option to wipe Dalvik.....
It is no prob doing this, simply gets rebuilt by system, but without a lotta built-up rubbish....
Also, with CWM you can wipe all partitions before flashing new ROM....always a good idea.

I've backed up all my apps on my ext. sd with TTB but from all the stories I've read on our forums of FC's when restoring backups from TTB, its wise to get the CWM and do the nandroid. And will try downloading the app. Thanks for your time Irish. Will report back if(or when) its finally resolved. Interesting response from google; seem to share the idea that it has a more to do with 'connectivity' to their servers:
This is their latest response:
Thanks for writing me back. Your reply was very helpful, It's always nice to receive a detailed reply because it helps me a lot when troubleshooting. It sounds like you're having general connectivity issues - please try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
- Reboot your device
- Sign in and out of Google Talk repeatedly to restore connection to our servers:
1. Go to your device’s app launcher, and press the Talk app
2. If you’re already signed into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out
3. Launch Talk again to sign in (if you are unable to sign in, please let me know)
- Clear your Market cache (Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All > Market > Clear cache)
- Ensure firewalls are not blocking access to ports required for Android Market (TCP and UDP 5228)
- Confirm that there is strong connectivity on your device, and contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected
- Uninstall Market updates by visiting:
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications, selecting "Market" under the "All" tab or filter and touching "Uninstall updates"
If none of these steps resolve the issue, please let me know, and I will be happy to continue investigating the problem.
Regards,

After clearing the stored wifi password, then rebooting before reconnecting to my home Wifi, the android market(and youtube app) are working again. I had cleared out the Dalvik twice last night with the V6 Script. This was all about establishing a connection to Google's servers. Hope it doesn't happen again...can be a real pain. Thanks for the responses

Was it necessary to install gapps (Google Apps) for the ROM you flashed?
If it was, were you able to flash gapps successfully with CWM recovery?
Maybe you could try re-flashing gapps, making sure it's for ICS/CM9.
I hope this helps.

Log into your google account and check your wallet. There may be an issue with your payment method. If everything is fine, try deleting the app and then reinstalling the market. You can google "android market apk" to find it, or Google "google play apk". Download and install.
If that still doesn't solve, it could also just be the Google servers having an issue.

might be a ROM issue
I have the same "error processing issue" problem. I often have to clear my market cache/data, which works sometimes. So I called google market play to see if there were any issues in my account, and the rep said there was none. His theory was that there might be some issues with the custom ROM (ARHD) I installed, since I only started having problems after I installed it. Anyway, I think the only solution for now is the clear cache data approach, or better yet, hope that our ROM builders are able to address the issue.
As an aside, my ARHD is working perfectly, except for this market issue (cum hoc, ergo propter hoc?)
I also have a custom rom installed and had this same issue, I resolved it by uninstalling updates for the google play store app, and then it worked...at least for now.
I recently started messing with various roms and themes when this issue popped up for me. I searched the web and tried the various methods (removing gmail account, not updating, etc) with little luck. After hours of frustration, I finally found out what was causing the issue.
I was using Titanium Backup to back up all my files and restore them as I was flashing between the various roms, that was the trouble maker.
When you back up your files before a flash, make sure you do not back up the google/play store. So, if you are having problems, try to go trough these steps and it should fix it.
Back up all your files (minus play store) in Titanium Backup.
Reboot phone into clockwork.
Reset Factory Data x3
Wipe Cache x3
Install your rom from zip
Once your phone is booted up again, do not enable Wifi (for now)
Do not add a Google Account
Go to the market and download Titanium (will prompt to add Google account, do so)
Exit the Market
Go back to the market (it should now have auto updated to play store)
Try to download another app, any app, it should work
You can now use Titanium to restore all your apps and data, but make sure that you do not restore anything with the market/play store in it.
I did this yesterday, restored all my games, contacts, text messages, etc and it has worked fine for me ever since.
I am running slickMOD Supreme with the Darkside Kernel.
Hope this helped at least a few of you as I know how big of a headache this was for me.
All is good now. However, it does still happen with a couple apps, free or paid. I can't remember which ones but it gives the processing purchase error. Very rare albeit still present.

Aloha;
Sounds like an ID mismatch here. Happens whenever you do a factory reset or change ROMs. I'm guessing that the ID is a hash of the phone and the ROM, maybe. Anyway, the device ID is what ties the phone to your Google account and apps use this to determine whether you paid for the installed app or run as a freeware version.
Titanium now offers the choice of reverting the id back to the old one or ignore the change. I prefer NOT to change the ID back as I've ran into more id mismatch problems down the road than just keeping the new ID. I too use Titanium to backup my apps and data, and use it to quickly restore my apps and data to a new installation on my phone (whether it be a factory reset or a new ROM, or even a reinstallation of the current ROM). Whenever I have a misbehaving app that reverts back to the freeware version or complains about licensing problems, I then uninstall the app and then reinstall the app directly from the Play Market. That has always fixed the problem for ME. Your Mileage May Vary, which mean while it works for me, it MAY not work for you. Keep that in mind before you start biatchin that it doesn't work.
Oh, yeah, also try rebooting after the reinstallation. If nothing else, Dalvik and Cache!
Mahalo,
-Lance

I've run into this a few times after doing a restore from a backup or swapping ROMs. Best way I can fix it is go to Google Services Framework, stop it, clear the data. Next go to Google Play, stop it. Uninstall any updates, then clear the data. Reboot phone. Go to Google Play again, accept terms, and now it should work. Just some advice.

[Q] How to fix android market? (error processing purchase)

Some days ago I flashed a ICS Rom, all went good but the only thing that i noticed was that my phone name had changed to lt18i in the market. Today I decided to go back to my previous GB Rom so I restored it from my nandroid backup. Now my phone is still identified as a lt18i and cannot download anything from the market. I tried to wipe the app data of the play store app but didn't do anything. Also the remote download from the pc doesn't work at all.
What other things I could try? I really want to avoid a factory reset if possible.
EDIT: Found a solution, i moved/deleted the /data/system/accounts.db, wiped the app data from the Play Store and restarted the phone, added my google account again and the market updated my device name and the downloads are working again.

I just tried this solution for my HTC Incredible 2 and it worked flawlessly. I'm currently running ICS 4.0.4 from Aeroevan's CM9 build. I tried clearing the data from the market and download manager as well as trying the "killall drmserver" fix, which has worked before. This here did the trick. I wonder if removing and readding the accounts from "Accounts & Sync" would've worked as well? I'll try that next time if it happens again.
Thank you.
Thanks! This fixed my ICS ROM'd Play Store problem

Just got the purchasing error from market and tried removing my account from Accounts & Sync. Phone gave me this warning:
This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults (which deletes all your personal data.). You do that in the Settings application, under Privacy.
This worked for me too after changing around my apns. My market started giving off that error. Then I did your fix and now market/playstore is perfect again! Thanks! By the way you have to do the whole fix! You cant just delete your account in accounts and sync settings cause that doesn't work I tried.

Now, on my phone I tried to find /data/system/accounts.db in astro & other file explorer but couldn't find it. Not in root or SD. I see a data folder in root, but there is no folder in it.
I also don't see the option to remove acct data in play store options. I'm getting relatively better this stuff but I can't find the options detailed.
A bit of elaboration please?

I just ran into this problem, hoping it will work on my tablet. When you say you moved the /data/system/accounts.db, what do you mean. Where did you move it to? Or do you mean you removed/deleted that file. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I figured it out. Deleting the file did the trick. Thanks again
I actually resolved this issue simply by wiping cache and dalvik from recovery, and rebooting.
Btw yes I'm rooted but nothing there. I'll check again later though. Thanks.
Thanks. I have been searching for a fix. This worked for me!
Unfortunately this process didn't work for me. The various market fixing apps on the market don't work either (it's hard enough just trying to find their .apks since I can't download them over the market) and my CleanRom lost its keyboard and launch buttons thanks to trying this method. Looks like I'll have to wipe the device tonight. *sigh*
Edit: Dalvik and cache wiping fixed it for me.
This problem arose for me last night.
Fixed it by reinstalling 3.1.5 Market update.
Cache wipes did not help in any capacity.
Downloaded Market update file from www.arctablet.com/assets/apps/Android_Market_v3.1.5.apk
Probably a million places to find it but hope the link helps someone out.
I fixed this issue by making sure I was logged into Talk. The app wouldn't open so I uninstalled the update and then it ran fine, and the problem went away.
OP
your fix worked like a charm for me. CM9 on Motorola Photon. thanks!

Google Play Store download error - 921

This thread is to provide the solution for Google play store download error - 921.
Today I got the error while downloading the apps from Google Play Store. The error message is
'Error - Update for "xxxxx" could not be downloaded due to an error. (921)'
I've searched the forum and found some useful information. Because the thread was belonging to different phone, I wanted to post the information with some more details.
If you see the same error, then follow the steps -
1. Menu > Settings > Personal > Accounts and sync > click on your google account (email)
2. click 'Remove account'. Don't worry, it's not deleting your physical account. Account related information is still saved in Google.
3. Launch Google Play Store again
4. When asked, use existing account to create the google account.
5. Provide your existing google account information (email & password)
6. try again to download
Based on my experience, whenever I got the 921 error, cleaning cache and data for google play store app does not work.
Another work around is creating a second google account. But I believe many people do not want to maintain multiple account on one phone.
(attached) screenshot of error 921.
First png uploading failed. Try to upload thru 2nd post.
Error 921 download error..
I could fix it by uninstalling the google play..
I tired to do this, but I get
"This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults (which deletes all your personal data) You do that in the Settings application, under Privacy"
Actually doing that is what started my problem. My google contacts would not sync
so I reset by going to Settings/Privacy, now I can't get google play/market to download anything, and I constantly get a google talk authentication failed message. ( I don't nor have I ever knowingly used google talk)
remove and clear the data/cache for the play store and uninstall the update for it. it should roll back to a version from before and once you reopen it and it downloads again it should be ok. I had this same problem and have done that and so far with the newest market I've not had one single problem after doing that. YMMV however.
I do not have option to clear data or clear cache greyed out, I will try the uninstall update..
no go, same thing only now the message is simply "could not be downloaded due to an error"
is your phone rooted? and which rom are you using?
Again, just removing data/cache would not solve the problem many times.
Did you try to create a second account?
yeah, I can't clear data or cache as the buttons are not available.
it is rooted I am on GB EL30 with EL30 modem
i did not try a second account, really don't want a second account, i guess i can to test it though.
probably do a hard reset tonight from cm

Many google apps are sharing the info thru Google Framework service. Did you try to remove data/cache for this app also?
Doing factory resetting would be the easiest way but sometimes taking long time to recover the everything. So, it depends on your preference.
If the data & cache fields are grayed out, then it means that there's nothing to be cleared.
yes, the buttons for data and cache are also unavailable in framework also.
I did the factory reset from Privacy, that's what started the 921 problem.
i guess I will from cm tonight, that don't work I guess I'll put it back to ec05 and let it update then try again
got tired of messing with it, used odin to overwrite el30. so far so good. email push is working, contacts are syncing, and I can download from market
it's working now! thank you!
Likewise, OP's steps worked for me Thanks.
I googled this issue (I have a different device, obviously) and found this thread. Pointing me at the Google Framework services fixed my issue, so thank you!! I use TB and just restored the Google Framework data (I'd just wiped data and didn't want to have to go through the play store song and dance like ALWAYS) and voila! One reboot later (I'd already rebooted five times before, what was one more?) my apps download without an issue. This would probably resolve it for other users as well. Thank you again!!

OP's steps worked for me too, thanks!
Remove the account and readd it.
Hey my little cuties. I noticed something it the screenshot. You have the warning triangle up top. Use the pulldown to grant permissions. Google apps sometimes request it out of nowhere.

That was not the permission thing. Actually the little triangle was for the error message on top.
Actually I've seen the case like you explained but in my case there was no waring nor notification. Just app was't worked. In sometimes, if the app does not work, then we need to pull down the notification area, and check if there's anything (permission request).
OP's directions worked for me as well.
HTC Sensation.
OP's directions worked for me as well.
HTC Evo 4G running CM9.
Now how do I clear up the 942 error.
If I helped you out in any way please thank me. Thanks.

[Q] Google services using lot of data

Hello
From last two days, Google services has taken up lot of my net data. More than 500 mb in two days.
I have tried disabling all Google sync options but it does not help. Only restricting the background data in lo usage stops it from eating the data, but then I lose Gmail gtalk sync.
Thanks in advance for help and suggestions.
Have searched on Google and xda but haven't found anything useful.
Device - sprint galaxy nexus with CNA Rom.

Check that Google Currents background sync is off
Google currents is not installed.
Usage statistics in my data manager app shows the download manager is using the data. Not sure what is downloading as I don't have anything in downloads app.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Google maps is also a known battery hog, I recommend downloading an autorun manager and disabling some of the background tasks

I've got the same issue like you.

I don't know what else I can try.

It is an OTA that is taking place over google play (well that is the conclusion a couple of us came up with here in a thread I made) It is a simple fix,
Either upgrade to 4.3 (flash a ROM) or download FOTAKILL.apk and place it in the system/app directory using a root file explorer like ES file explorer and then reboot. The problem should be gone, I have not personally tried the FOTAKILL method yet, but upgrading to 4.3 does the trick.
I have attached a copy of FOTAKill for you.
EDIT: You can also try this method;
Install Autorun Manager from the Play store.
Then enter its recommended advanced mode.
Go into the settings and enable the following: system entries and system app disable.
Disable com.android.gsf.update.SystemUpdateService$Recieve r under Google Service Framework

Hi amd-dude,
Thanks for your help was very useful for me.
I've tried the third option due my lack of knowledge in Android.
Seems to be working at the moment!! I'm checking the data usage daily and all are normal matrices.
Thanks you.
Regards,

Thanks to OP and adm-dude! Google Services gobbled my entire 1 gb montly data within an hour and over 19 gb over wifi this month. My phone was slowed to near-uselessness and I was ready to wipe it and start fresh. FOTAKill worked!
