[KERNEL] SP-ROOT - GT-I9000 ROOTED STOCK Kernels - by stock+ Team (ALL NEW VERSIONS!)

Hello everyone,
Stock+ Team ($omator & Grooby) are proud to bring you the latest rooted kernels based on samsung stock kernels that you may find in ROM by Samsung.
Why should i use this kernel?
Our kernels are uber-minimal modification of stock kernel used only for rooting (no custom recovery is installed). So the kernel it's like stock just rooted, and there is small chance (or any chance) that it will be detected as modified by service center at the first look
Please find latest of kernels listed below:
*NEW* ROOTED! I9000XXJW4 - Gingerbread (2.3.6) - CL: 1043937 - B.Date: 19-03-2012 - Download HERE!
Instructions:
1. Flash zImage.tar of choosen kernel using Odin (you will find it in package)
2. Profit!
What's included in this kernel
- Base image of kernel is 100% pure stock by samsung
- ClockworkMod Recovery added !
- Fully rooted (after flash you will have superuser and su installed)
Nothing more, nothing less - Enjoy!
If you like our modifications, support us with even a little donation for a beer -> Click to donate!
Don't forget to follow our service at Twitter (@SamsungUpdates) or (soon) Samsung-Updates.com
Best regards for CF for showing us the way and all XDA-DEVELOPERS members! we love ya!
This will be interesting. *[Subscribing]*
Thanks, I also prefer to use an stock kernel with the only addition of root features.
Lot of 2.3.5 custom kernels are based on 2.3.4 sources and also have tweaks that might do more bad than good.
Imho if those tweaks were so good samsung would have added them to their roms, it wouldn't be the first time they do that.

when its done, soonish =) tool is almost finished
ITs finished, download, test and let us know

These are suppoused to look/feel/work as oryginal kernels just with rooted by default. We are currently working on extending default recovery menu with some features invisible for a service eye but useful for flashing custom roms

cool.. well that's a hell of a lot easier than the manual route I was taking. This was my goal, but for personal rather than pseudo "xda glory" as I'm working with DooM's stuff I didn't feel right posting it without his permission, but he's probably too busy to care
go for it championswimmer :victory:
Excuse my noob-ish question, but... what's the difference between a 'stock' kernel with recovery and a completely custom kernel like DoomLord's? Is it to do with core frequencies/governors?

Frequencies and governors are one possible customicing for kernels, for the most users the most important thing. also Kernel modifing can allows you init.d support, undervoltscripts and also allows (or denies) MSC support... and, for shure, clean out some tings, make things more efficiently and and and... a dev is nearly totaly free to create a very customiced kernel with or without special Driver support or so

using someone's work just because 'he's too busy to care' is not the aim which we at xda strive for ...
i've already talked with Doomlord regarding using his recovery... and as long as I clearly mention it's his work and provide links back to his thread, he has no issues with anyone else using it...
(and i'll surely do that ^^ when i release a kernel containing his recovery, if i ever do that)

ajay jb.zip as double named files such that on extracting they displace each other due to similar name it is due to addition of file in zip after compilation as for now cm7 is the most stable version

Good job! great rom.
If you want to extract cm10 you have to use linux, because for windows folder ''a'' and folder ''A'' is the same name.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

KNOWN ISSUES
Audio may be problematic with MHL.
Sense 5 camera features not available (no burst, no zero-shutter-lag, picture quality seems to be worse).
Proximity sensor issues (screen stays black after call, hardware issue, it may not affect you).
Workaround: install Rezound Prox Sensor Calibrator and play with the PS1_CANC slider).
No P2P/Wi-fi Direct.
Screen corruption after unlocking when the device was rotated.
Just let it rotate again or close and re-open the app.
Crashes and freezes when using a docking station.
I can't test this. More reports and logcats are welcome.
FAQ
Can I dirty flash coming from CM 10.2?
Yes, generally it should work. Don't forget to flash CM 11.0 gapps and boot.img
Where is the Superuser App?
The Superuser App is now part of CM. You can find it in the Setting under the System category. Make sure you enable root access for Apps in the Superuser settings. In case you can't find it enable the "Developer options" by tapping "Build number 7" in "About phone" 7 times and enable root access there.
Where are the Sweep2Wake, Button Backlight Notifications, NVIDIA Smart Dimmer and Fast Charge Settings?
Gone or moved to other menus. But the functionality is still in the framework. See second post for details.
Where is the "Developer options" menu?
Hidden by default. Go to "About phone" and press "Build number" seven times to show it.
When do the nightlies start? When do upload the next version? When do you fix XYZ?
I don't know.
Does ART (the new Android runtime) work
Generally yes, but some apps (even from Google) have problems. Also the cache files use more space than with Dalvik. So if you have many apps installed you will run out of space.
But I enabled it anyway and now my phone doesn't start anymore .
The setting is persisted on the /data parition. So execute "echo -n libdvm.so > /data/property/persist.sys.dalvik.vm.lib" in the recovery (don't forget to mount /data). You can also execute is as root while the phone is trying to boot.
Here are instructions to enable or disable some features that were previously in the advanced settings menu.
Button Backlight Notifications (enabled by default)
Button backlight notifications are enabled/disabled by settings write permissions on a special file. To disable them remove the write permission for the sysfs file with
Code:
chmod 444 /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/slow_blink
Only execute it while the lights are not currently blinking.
The newest kernel also contains the ability to limit to the notification brightness. Do
Code:
echo 1 > /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/slow_blink_brightness_limit
to limit the brightness to your normal button backlight brightness (which you can adjust in the settings).
Fast Charge (disabled by default)
Fast charging is disabled by default and can be enabled with
Code:
echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/htc_battery/fast_charge
Sweep2Wake (disabled by default)
Code:
# Enable s2w
echo 1 > /sys/android_touch/sweep2wake
# Adjust the needed swipe length. 325 for one button (default), 500 for two buttons and 850 for three buttons
echo 500 > /sys/android_touch/s2w_min_distance
# Disable direction independent behaviour
echo 0 > /sys/android_touch/s2w_allow_stroke
DoubleTap2Wake (disabled by default)
Like the name suggests. You can wake your device by double tapping anywhere on your hardware keys.
Code:
# Enable dt2w
echo 1 > /sys/android_touch/s2w_allow_double_tap
There are some tunables to adjust the minimum time span between taps (s2w_double_tap_duration) and maximum timespan (value of s2w_double_tap_duration + value of s2w_double_tap_threshold).
Nvidia SmartDimmer (disabled by default)
Now called "Adaptive backlight". Setting was moved to the "Display & LED" menu.
All settings where you manually have to execute a command are not persisted between reboots. You can use a third party app that supports toggling the settings or you can put the commands into /data/local/userinit.sh to apply them at boot.
