Unlock with S-off - Verizon HTC One (M7)

This may be a dumb question or maybe I need to do some more research. But is it possible to unlock the bootloader after it's been s-off'd?

Plenty of searching and reading to do here!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470340
That is probably the easiest bootloader unlock method.

Thanks. to clarify, we will need to s-off before unlocking.

Yes, s-off and superuser installed. There is also going through htcdev that works too. Plenty of threads already in this forum with writeups and troubleshooting info!

OMG that guide worked fantastically. Also, droidfiles.us had a guide that was almost identical so if anyone is having issues you can also use that one. Thank you so much for the info on where to get files and where to look for the guides. wish i could +1 you or something but I'm a noob lol

One note, the guide on droidfiles.us, the step regarding the bootloader has the bootloader name missing a zero.

Hey guys I just placed my order for my Verizon HTC One and I was wondering if there are any developers out there working on a pacman ROM for this device? Or if the other variants can be used for this one

Are you planning on sending it out right away to be s-off'd since there currently is no unlock option ?

I'm not really sure what s-off'd means.... But regardless I run that ROM on all of my devices it's the only aosp ROM I use ...... And I'll do almost anything to have it running on my phones

s-off in laymans terms basically means super-unlock. Right now the only way to unlock the Verizon htc one is with a java card, because the htc dev unlock was blocked day 1. No unlock = no root = not custom rom =
But keep your hopes up that an exploit will be found soon.
most likely I'll go with s-off I'm sure a developer will find a way soon

If you don't know what s-off is then you probably don't need it. Unlock should be fine for the average Rom changing user. He asked about s-off because right now you can send your phone and money to a person who will s-off it.

Prevention information help.

Yes you need to stop Knox for security specific apps.
Go to settings>general>security and check unknown sources , then uncheck verify apps. This is mainly for installing apps.
But since there's no real indication of what you have installed, and whats running. i'd do that first and go from there.
From what the masses say, its a root issue that has been fixed. SO yes, you have to be rooted to get rid of whatever you are trying to do.
Thanks ill do that.

Why dont you just do this? Just a suggestion if your not ready to root. I'm holding off rooting also (for now ) I'm still discovering all the things it will do just stock.

S-Off on 4.2.2. What to use?

So I have a 4.2.2 One coming today and I'm going to S-Off it. I know that rumrunner works for 4.2.2 but I'm just wondering if I should still use that since firewater is out.. what method do you guys recommend.
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I just used rumrunner last week. Follow the steps and it works great. I don't believe you need firewater unless you are 4.3.

Phone won't root

I've done everything I could to try and root this phone but the last step just isn't working. When I have to put the command to flash the unlock bin it gives me a error message. Any ideas. I've used two different laptops.
