When I'm getting an incoming call, the bottom half of my contact pic is black until I answer a call.... is this by design or is this a bug?
It is just stupid looking

Its by design. There is a code modification somewhere that changes it but I forget where it is posted

What does code modification mean?
I tried several applications for full caller id picture but there is always a lag
Like taking apart the android system. Decompiling it and changing some code then recompiling and pushing it to your phone. I used to know how to do it but that was android 4.0 haha that was forever ago

Lol. Yes that's a fairly well documented Easter egg
If you stretch the image (zoom in) it turns into an animated feature just in case u didn't know.

It does this on Gingerbread too.

You just BLEW MY F'N MIND!!!!! NO WAY!!!!!!
press and hold on the image that appears - ohh yeahhhh
All Android versions have Easter eggs like this (as far as I know). ICS is the best IMO, the rest were just still images. Although the Honeycomb one did make for a rather cool wallpaper.

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue on my device that is pretty weird. Everytime I open the 'Recent apps' section when on a black background I see this horrible lines like a broke tv. Its only on the recent apps section. Im using AOKP M5 + Franco3. Has anyone else had this issue? Or its just me and a faulty screen.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Call me crazy but I see nothing. Problem's with your screen if it doesn't show up on a screenshot.
I don't see anything either. Can you specify more?
I have this issue too

Try a different from first. Or try viewing it in landscape also.

Heh, i have this issue too.
Let me try in landscape mode.
Landscape mode have this problem too.
Sounds like it could be the rom. Are you on the same one as the OP? Also I do not think the apps show in a screen shot for security reasons.

Here is a video review of Jellybean that I compiled from the source code put up by kevdliu on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779986
Credits to kevdliu, Aeroevan, Andromadus, Firetop, elicik and MORE! I just compiled their code and put it on my phone and made this video! I am putting it here for better visibility to all the Dinc2 XDA members...
Everything except camera seems to work fine. There is some minor glitches in the animations, like the text smears in the status bar when a new notification arrives... That is the when the status bar is cleared and the text from a new notification pops up there, that text "smears" as it animates. But otherwise, the text in the pull down notification bar, etc. is fine... I have a video of this happening, and I can up it later...
Apart from that, this is Daily Driver material. See it for yourself [Fair warning: I speak at the very end when I test the Google Now feature very briefly! So, expect some vocals at the end, and don't be thrown off guard! ]
If you like this video, go to the original thread and thank the devs there!
A build has been uploaded by Kevdliu that is probably the same thing I am running (or may have fixes he made after that)... So, now you can go ahead, download, flash and ENJOY!!!!
And here comes the review:
Alllllright......I like where this is goin'

I'm liking what I'm seeing here! Everything looks smooth especially when you bring up tasks switch between apps. I always felt like on CM9 that function took forever so I never really bothered with it to switch apps. I felt it was faster just to manually go back. Looks like I wont have to do that anymore !!!
I've successfully ported the evervolv ROM to the SR, but whenever the CPU engages, IE unlock screen, launching an app, etc., this thick red outline appears. Sometimes randomly. Short of building from source, since i don't have the necessary tools, how would one fix this? I can just email that particular dev, but i wanted a broader audience. Thank you for your attention.

I know. I do like it. But in the ics version the status bar had multiple pages to swipe between. I though that was bad azz. Now with the power widget I guess its a little mundane. Oh well

One of the things that I really liked about the note 3 coming from the s2 that the Samsung keyboard had a dedicated number row. I looked on the play store for an alternative to no avail. Today I found the new SwiftKey beta which has the option.

Changing that would require another 52 png files in the apk plus added code to eliminate the long press option.

Hate to see wasted space. Keep long press and replace numbers (in either first or second row) with Ctrl, tab, esc, [, ], % ^, ~, <, >
Would look ugly but be useful (for me)!
It's damn ugly now with the two rows of numbers... But I am so much happier with this keyboard.

I have to agree. They need to remove the extra numbers. This is a good first step. ?

NOTE 3
Was looking into modifying this keyboard. For some reason I can't recompile it, but I think I can modify that original row, removing the numbers for the long press of "QWERTY..." I've had some issues with newer apk's. I'm having an issue setting up the right environment using apktool 4.3.
That being said, I'm going to work on this tonight to see if I can at least get it to recompile.
For anyone interested, the files I think that need to be modified are res>xml>keyboard_layout_standard_qwerty.

definitely a step in the right direction (e.g., numeric keys) and i also like the option to reduce the footprint of the keyboard so it takes up less real estate (e.g., screen).

That was the first reason why I stopped using it back in the day. I will give it a try
NOTE 3
The emoji support on it is amazing, you can long press enter for the entire list, which is huge, and emojis will also pop up in the predictive text guesses at the top. The keyboard can also be detached from the bottom of the screen, resized, and it has full, thumbs only, and a compact layouts. This is the best keyboard out there imo.

The only annoying thing I've noticed is, with number row enabled, autocorrect doesn't take into account accidental number presses.
E.g. If I type n7mbers or sw8ftk3y6
Have u guys noticed lately that it makes ridiculous suggestions for words you have/would never use(d)? I have trending phrases turned off, and scan all accounts. Spend lots of time removing words. I hope they include an editable dictionary at some point.
Does anyone know how to make the emojis back to color like the Samsung keyboard please?
