Can someone with Note 3 that also has note 2 check if you can use the note 3's Spen on Note 2.

Yes it does work. It also fits the slot BUT comes out too easily.

You can't change resolution but you can change the name of the phone, manufacter, and make it look like a Galaxy Note in the benchmarks. I make my Kindle Fire look like a Nexus 7

I use my note 2 pen on my 2014 also with no issues. But you can get a spare pen for the 2014 on Amazon
