Give it 1-2 months... when Note 2 came out, it took almost 2 months before they started building CM for it... though that's because it was Exynos 4 which caused a zillion problems building the kernel to make all the hardware work, and the ROM itself. Our Note 3 is Snapdragon 800 which is very easy to support, and with Samsung's kernel source already available they shouldn't have too many problems bringing it up.
I hope so, its sad to see no variety of custom roms so far

My honest opinion we should skip 4. x anything... and demand 5.0.. And android 4.2 on my nexus 7 was not a nice thing...
Stick with what works.. not whats cutting edge..

I agree with sticking with what works but a lot of the people around here that can't do dev work truly believe that the newest is always the best, and that's not always the case. Android 5.0 may be just around the corner, who really knows considering 4.3 was just released for the Nexus line and in development for the S3, S4 and Note 3 (and possibly the Note 2).
ICS was a big step up from GB, and JB over ICS. History has proven the the next big version is not just better but A LOT better. But I have to ask, what could or would you possibly change to make Android that much better to warrant a major change over Jelly Bean?

Basically the stuff ive read from random sources online, its gonna be more aesthetic stuff but will also cut down on cpu usage. Making it more streamlined and less power hungry, meaning the newer smart phones will run smooth as silk and battery drain will be minimal. Obviously some features will be added, but i didnt read of anything revolutionary. Hopefully theyre keeping that aspect under a tight seal. I feel like theyre going to increase interaction with multiple devices now. Integration of all peripheral devices seems like the next "big thing".

I counted 6 threads for 4.4 roms in this forum, including CM11. Not bad for a device that just officially got 4.3 a week or so ago.
So im guessing were not gonna see a KitKat TW rom for our still wonderful Note 2 device? Pretty sure samsung already has it but are just not releasing it on purpose so we just buy the note 3 or s5.

Recently flashed W03 SlimKat and it's awesome. Fantastic KK Rom.
International version is getting it now..all the carrier versions are always going to be late/delayed.....I'm just waiting for a rooted version of the OTA to come out.
Its not up to samsung. Updates are from Google and the carrier.

Correction: Samsung still needs to add Touchwiz and the "S" features to whatever Google produces way before the carriers even get to cripple features by adding bloatware.
Yes, as you said, samsung adds whatever they want, then at&t decides if a phone model gets an update, so, as others have said, its up to the carrier. Google decides if the processor of the phone continues to get support.

I've interpreted this to mean that you are saying that the official release is the 26th, but a leak may appear days before.
Does anyone know if DG tweeted anything to say otherwise?
If we get kitkat I could definitely hold onto my Note 2 for another year and not use my upgrade yet.

I suggest S5 because its features are more better then note 3
^^^with all that being said, you still can't beat the convenience of having the S-Pen for the Note3
Well I have been playing with the MIUI V6 port found on the n7100 and n7105 (international note 2's). I have a working version on my l900 but it is also a gsm modified and runs on cricket (att) network. I know that the touchwiz ports from the international has issues with mobile data on sprint but since this is aosp (4.4.4) I am pretty sure it will work fine for sprint users. This is a very early (beta) rom that I am using but if anyone is will to test on sprint network let me know. I have some work to do to fix a couple of device specific issues but should have a tester in a day or two.
How's MIUI running on GSM?
I will test may take awhile though swamped at work and it is my anniversary this weekend so I am not sure when I'll have time.
