[Q] Unlocking ZL with 0 attempts remaining - Sony Xperia ZL

My Uncle is trying to unlock his ZL that's locked to MTS (regional Canadian carrier). He bought an unlock code from the carrier, but it didn't work and he tried it enough times that the phone indicates he has 0 unlock attempts remaining. Is there any way to reset the attempt counter, or unlock it using a different method? Thanks for your help.

[Q] Rogers SIM-Lock

Hi, I'm brand new to this kind of stuff. I've done some searching around, and I have come to the conclusion that I am one of the unlucky Rogers customers with a Play that is SIM-locked I can't unlock the BL.
I've seen the methods that Jinx and others have come up with using SETool but I was wondering if, since the SE site explains that my phone is SIM-locked, I could pay one of the unlocking companies like theunlock.ca and remove the lock from my Play.
Maybe this has been asked before, but after I remove the carrier lock, could I access the BL?
Nope, a sim unlock is just that, a bootloader unlock on the other hand will grant you access to fastboot and sim unlock your phone, although its a little more expensive.
Yes you can sim unlock your phone with a simunlock company. Mine cost 8 bucks to do. Bootloader will still be locked but who cares. The best roms are the stock ones anyway and there is no risk bricking your phone.
I have a Rogers Xperia Play; How can I tell if mine is SIM-locked, or are they all SIM-locked?
All roger xperia plays are sim and bootloader locked coming from rogers, to test out the sim lock just grab a sim from a different provider and pop it in (it wont work). As for testing the bootloader, turn off your phone, hold the search button and plug in the usb cable to your phone and computer, if it was bootloader unlockable your status LED will turn blue meaning you can use fastboot, if not, nothing.
My phone also came from Rogers, sim unlocked from some website for 8$ too.. I still have locked bootloader.. But I think that you can unlock your BL yourself if you already have an unlock sim phone.

There is someone unlocking the rogers bootloader.

U can get root by installing the original uk firware, ginger break, up date ota and you have the lastest firmware.
Hope this helps
Thats an expensive route to sim unlock though
wait so let me get this straight.... I have the r800a rogers branded simlocked phone.
If I were to pay someone to debrand it which is = sim unlock (correct me if wrong) , then I'll be able to unlock the bootloader myself right? or aka access fast boot.
JNo you can sim unlock but you will still be locked out of fastboot as it is factory locked. Here are your choices,
Sim unlock is 8 bucks
Or
Bootloader and sim unlock is about 28 bucks
Or
Unbranding is free, just flash a stock r800a generic rom

[Q] SIM unlocking

Has anybody tried to unlock ZL with software (for example from that site)? to unlock the phone with code takes from 3 to 7 working days to get the code, while this site guarantees unlocking almost right away after using their software.

[Q] sony xperia ion LT28at at&t unlock needed

Hi, I have a question. I have a sony xperia ion LT28at that I purchased in 2012 from at&t. I paid full price for it and did not link it to a contract. I've been trying to sell it and no luck. Now I am trying to unlock it and at&t is telling me it is not eligible to be unlocked. I contacted Sony as well and they told me there is nothing they can do as well that we need to go through at&t. This phone is completely new, never used and is legally able to be unlocked but I cant find a way to do it.
I looked up online a service that I can pay to unlock this phone. They told me to use the following code to find out whether or not my phone is hard locked: *#*#7378423#*#*
When I did enter the code I listed above this is what my phone displayed:
[x] Network 0
[ ] Network Subset 10
[ ] Service Provider 10
[ ] Corporate 10
[ ] Sim 0
I was told if there is a number 0 besides network that means it is in fact a hard locked phone.
Also phone displayed the following:
Rooting status: Bootloader unlock allowed: no
So the bootloader is locked as well.
If anyone has any ideas or what my options are to try to unlock this phone, please let me know! Thank you in advance!

Sim unlock, i dont realy know i did some overly elaberate way to sim unlock, Google "how to Sim unlock Xperia", you should be able to find something
you can use flashtool to unlock your bootloader though, > you can find on XDA file server
Sorry, bud, but the last guy is off... the flash tool will NOT bootloader unlock this model... it will root it, which is what u need first... if u no what ur doing, with romtoolbox pro, you can insert a registry entry to change the value to 1, but I'm not liable for any tinkering that turns ur phone into a paper weight...

There is no way to unlock at model as of I know. It is not allowed by sony and at&t.

There is no any magic entry in registry to unlock the phone, especially if you know what you are doing. You have to pay about $40 to have it simunlocked. There is no way to unlock bootloader as it is encrypted.
You can get a Sim unlock code from at&t to use on other networks but you will not be able to unlock the boot loader.

[Q] SIM Unlocking Xperia ZL 6506 with no unlock tries left

I realize normal unlocking methods won't work with a 0 counter on unlock tries left.
Is there any service or tool out there that can unlock this via another way?

[Q] Xperia M test point bootloader unlock method?

Hey there!
I'm trying to unlock the bootloader on my Sony Xperia M c1905. Currently it says Bootloader Unlock Allowed = No. I've already requested a Sim unlock code from o2 (The phone carrier & the store from which I purchased the phone originally) and successfully removed the Sim lock from the phone. I've also upgraded the ROM and rolled it back again with a full reset to 15.1.C.2.8 however it hasn't changed Bootloader Unlock Allowed = No to Yes.
I've carried out extensive research into the problem, read through the full service manuals for the Xperia M trying to locate the test point to try the test point unlock method (same as was common on the 2011 models) however I've been unable to find it. I've included an attached picture of the phone's logic board showing the available contact points, does anyone know which one is the test point and also if the procedure for unlocking the bootloader via this method is the same as on the 2011 phones? If not what is the procedure? (I've already got an understanding of using s1tool etc)
Alternatively, if someone knows of another method to change bootloader Unlock Allowed = No to Yes on this phone then obviously that will sort the problem as well!
Thank you in advance!
