Hi !
The day before yesterday, I sensed the phone a bit warm in my pocket and when I picked it up, it was all blank, it was off. When I connected the charger, nothing happened..but after some time, the orange led lit up. I tried to reset it Power+vol up but didn't get a response. I tried hard reset power+volup down...nothing happened. As long as I connect the charger, the led turns on but when I disconnect the cable, the led turns off.
It never wakes up.
I tried Sony Service center but they won't accept my phone coz it wasn't imported by Sony India (I'm from India btw).
I think its a battery issue. What you guys think ?
Should I change the battery my self ?
Whats the battery Xperia S uses ?
This one ?
http://www.ebay.in/itm/MOBILE-BATTE...ries&hash=item43c05ecded&_uhb=1#ht_3928wt_906
Should I get the above battery and replace it ?
Weird
It may have overheated
I had that back in ics with my old xs, i had a app that killed the phone in its sleep
I suggest you investigate alittle more

What you mean by investigate ?
I mean, I tried connecting to PC & its not detecting it.
Or is there any special connection for debugging ?
Try this first
Plug in to charge and leave for and hour, if a red led pops up then your battey was dead
If that doesnt work then try
Put a rubber band around your xs holding your power button and your volume up
Make sure sony pc companion is installed
And after 20 mins
Take the rubber bands off and charge for about 40 mins
Open sony companion go to repair device in the support menu
Follw instructions

I don't have an internet connection on my home pc
But yeah, I have Flashtool and .96 and .50 firmware (FTF).
Should I flash the .96 firmware ?
Try the rubber band then try charging
Then try flashing the 96 ftf

Ok, I'll try.
Thanks for the reply.
OK, I tried it but didn't work.
I charged the mobile for 1 hr. Its orange led lit up but after pressing the power button, it didn't turn on.
Then I put rubber band across the power button and vol up key for 20 minutes and then charge the mobile for another 20 and then tried to connect to the pc but its not detected. The green led won't turn on (no flashmode it seems) only orange led lights up.
Did you hold volume down when plugging into pc?

If its not succesfull again, I think I should remove the back cover and disconnect the battery and try again.

Sony Xperia S.
Try to hold both volume up and down and press power button and hold. It should vibrate after some time, release keys, wait couple minutes and try to turn on your device.

If you get green light then your phone probably isn't bricked. Do you have fastboot drivers and flashtool? If not install these. Then connect one end of the USB cable to PC and while plugging in the other to phone holed down vol down( blue led should lit) or vol up (green led)
If you get some of these working then you can fix the phone.

Try connecting to pc without holding buttons, it should connect in flashmode if only green led is turned on when connected to charger. Maybe try again both volume down and up with power button. If no success try leaving it for night on a charger and tommorow try again. As far as there is green led you can recover it.

Is flashtool said that everything is ok? Or it didn't even start flashing rom. If said that everything is ok, it's possible that your battery is discharged. Someone had a similiar problem as you, but he put his phone on a charger for 20+ hours and phone was recovered.

A little search would have helped. There is a sticky'd recovery thread in the general section. Your not the first person to deal with SOFT-BRICK.

I accidentally installed ACER Recovery Installer to my Xperia Acro S to see if the CWM will be installed. After pressing reboot to recovery, my phone did not reboot at all. Power button not responding, no LED light and it was not charging as well. Tried to recover it using Flashtool but my computer doesn't read the phone because the phone do not respond to my PC. My phone already soft brick twice and I made it work using Flashtool, but this time, it failed. What should I do? Thanks in advance.

Did a rubberband technique, put the rubberband on power and volume + to press/hold them down and leave it that way for 20 minutes. When I touch the phone, it is slightly hot already. I remove the rubberband and charge it on a wall charger for about 4 hours, Now, it has a red LED and I am getting the phone ready for flashtool procedure.
Hope this luck continues (cross-fingers).
Thanks for your help and wish me luck.

Still stuck at Red Led, been working on it since October 1st. No luck of Green Led nor Blue Led for me to be able to use Flashtool. Left it charging for 24 hrs. last Thursday night up to Friday Night. I kept on reading

Hi
Try to to get it into fast boot mode I think it is holding power button and volume down while USB plugged in. Also make sure to have flashtool open as it will confirm if it has booted into fast boot mode it will read in the logs as well as a blue light coming up.
You can then flash a compatible recovery/kernal and boot into the phone through recovery or flash a .ftf from flashtool.

If not you can download Sus. Sony update service.
