Hey guys,
On my galaxy s2, note 10.1 and Xperia z1, using both google chrome and vanilla browser, all on 4.2 jb, I've noticed that any zooming while on a topic list/forum overview causes the page to refresh, and have also noticed this same problem when clicking text forms and sometimes when scrolling through these lists . This only happens on xda forum. Any suggestions?
Cheers, C
Have tried cookies and logging out on all devices, no luck, surely someone else is experiencing this?

Okay is it just my phone that omly opens 4 pages on web browser because my g1 opened like 12 and so does my iPhone is there a quick registry fix?
Hi,
I'm a bit frustrated by this as well. I posted the same question a while ago but got no replies:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561478
Dolphin, Coco and Steel browsers let you open more than 4 pages and they're based on the android browser so it must be possible to do it on the Hero browser. I can't believe there all the devs out there are content to use browsers with a 4 tab limit. C'mon guys share the secret! Pretty please??
2 more things I dislike about the browser. When I click stop it never seems to work and also I can only view in fullscreen mode which is annoying because I'm unable to view the statusbar.
also the (imo) great android browser feature 'magnifying glass browsing mode' had been cut out, and replaced by a slow iphone wannabe pinch to zoom browser, which rescales everything with every zoom and as a result is very slow!
/end rant

I guess everyone has this complaint but know one can fix it is their a way to get the JF builds G1 browser and use that because really flash is slow and rarely works and only thing that has worked is ads all over the place so i would rather use the G1 with pinch and zoom and zoom all icon actioness??
Hi there
I've got a problem with xda lightbox, since a few weeks, when I click an attached picture of a post, it opens a new page instead of opening lightbox...
Do you think it comes from my ie browser or from xda itself ?
I´m suffering the same issue on Google Chrome (no AdBlock or similar enabled) since weeks... So, i cannot help you, also looking for a solution, but i assume you can discard problems on your browser.
Glad I'm not the only one. Still no news on it eh?
Hey guys,
I posted this question in the Nexus 7 forums too in hopes of finding an answer.
I'm a long time Android user, and a very proud one at that. I recently got my Nexus 7, and I'm extremely happy with it.
I was shocked to see that some "flash video" works in the default Chrome Browser? I have not installed Flash or any other add on that I can think of. But I'm pleasantly surprised to see that I can view and play some videos on website which I believe is using Flash.
For example:
http://ca.ign.com/articles/2012/08/03/new-super-mario-bros-2-review
http://www.comingsoon.net/
These sites work perfectly fine with my Nexus 7 Chrome Browser.
However, how come these don't work on my Chrome Browser for my Galaxy Nexus?
The Chrome Browser is the same version 18.0.102523 on all 3 devices.
Can someone explain why is this the case?
Thank you all for your on going support in these forums.
Bill
This Question was resolved... see last post
Can anyone else confirm if the videos in the links above work for you? I'm told its working on the Nexus 7 because its HTML5. However, this should be enabled anyhow for the Galaxy Nexus Chrome Browser too. I tested some sites that specifically says HTML5 video, and I have confirmed that they play in my Galaxy Nexus Chrome Browser.
So I'm still mind boggled as to what is the reason they still play in my Nexus 7 but not on my Galaxy Nexus.
Any ideas?
Bill
IGN article worked. Second link, no videos showed up.

Thanks for your feedback DirgeExtinction,
Oh sorry,
in the 2nd link, the video needs to be clicked on the right side of the page, right under TRAILERS and VIDEOs. When I click it, the "No Plug In" page pops up, which isn't the case with my Nexus 7.
Damn, so you got the 1st link working huh... I'm wondering why I'm not able to see this.
Can anyone else confirm this?
Bill
Works here tooooo

Hey Guys,
Thanks for your confirmations... I finally figured out what was causing the problem... although I feel this is a bug:
When you view a website with the "request desktop site" option checked (which I prefer),
the HTML5 video links are broken.
However, if you view the desktop website using the website's "View Full Site" link instead of using the Chrome Browsers "request desktop site" option, the HTML5 video links work!
Thanks Everyone.
For the first link, the video is played under HTML5, not flash. If you force the browser to load the page in desktop format, you will see the flash addon is not available.
Ya, I realized it isn't flash now, thanks to all those that replied., but it's an HTML5 video issue when you use Chrome's Request Desktop Site option.

same problem here ... i suppose since the latest chrome v 23 update ... but some threads are working, some not ...
I have an other problem with Chrome and XDA (Windows).
Whenever I close Chrome and restart it, I'm logged out at XDA, although I check "Remember Me".
This is pretty annoying.
Maybe someone has an idea what I can do, I have this problem only on XDA.

No problems here, using Chrome Version 23.0.1271.64 m
I face the issues described here when I use Firefox 16.0.2 on Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit doesn't matter, same problem on two different PC's). The forum will reload the page over and over and over again until I deny to run scripts using NoSript for xda-developers.com. Using Google Chrome (23.0.1271.64m) there is not a problem.
Edit: Now Chrome starts to reload the forum pages over and over again, too.
The others are talking about desktop, not mobile. There is no App for those.

Same issue with Firefox and No Script on windows. I'd be interested in what is causing it if you find out. Likewise, I am enabling and disabling the MANY ad and tracker scripts running on this site.
A fresh profile of Chrome sorted this.No idea how.Same add-ons.

Whenever I hit the back key on my mouse on XDA in Chrome I go back two pages instead of one. Very frustrating. Does not seem to happen in Firefox.
My default browser is Firefox and I have none of the mentioned problems. On Chrome however the pages reload over and over again, just like described here.
Same problem here... Attachment loaded but UI messed up... And I couldn't add smilies... -_-
Happen on mozilla firefox too...
I have issues while using. Xda in browsers too,
But only in my home,
I cant even use the 2013 theme it gets garbled up
In my gf's place everythings fine,
I think it's your ISP, DNS, or browser extentions that is causing the problem

(edit)
1,1: sometimes it stucks and has a strange behavour with s pen (i click somewhere but it takes as click in another place in the page. it s evidente when small chars and many links )
it doesnt happen in any other app or menu.
2 stock browser doesn t recognize "other favourites" folder or the equivalent for italian "altri preferiti".
i can save only in the main folder and subfolders and not there
same for you?
1. Same here
2. I don't know, I mainly use Firefox beta now
edited main post.
firefox has any kind of sync with google favourites? can be edited?
for me it's a major feature.
I started getting this with Chrome when we got the first "performance improvement" update. I work around it by zooming in and scrolling. Not ideal by any means.

I dont know but I think the chrome has it's issues?
Noticed the same issue with Chrome, took me a while to really notice what was going on.
I had problems with Chrome as well. I like it but not enough to put up with a chopped off screen and major offset for the touch screen. I went with Opera and it works like it should so far.
Yip, this happens to me as well and it sucks.
