[Q] Anyone having tremendous radio issues? - Verizon HTC One (M7)

After unlocking and and flashing some AOSP ROMs I am getting atrocious signal.
I'm near the heart of Downtown LA so I don't think its location. Anyone having major issues.

Its always safe to go by dbm. Cause aosp and sense use different methods for signal bar. I noticed this while on a sense an aosp rom

Try flashing the decrypted RUU. That's helped some others with radio issues in AOSP ROMs.

You got me there, I haven't had a chance to actually do it, yet. But that's the way I understand it, yes.
I just went back to Bonestock and I'm gonna attempt the RUU tonight. It's a bit outside my comfort zone, but I'll give it a shot.

Personally I would avoid aosp for now until development progresses. Too many users have lost voice capabilities after trying them which tells you straight up they are still wip

This is usually the outcome. Too many postings (fresh ones too) of people who just got s-off and went to aosp. When they came back to sense, radios sucked. Until those posts stop appearing I stand by my comment.
If s-off, the decrypted ruu should fix. Until, you repeat the same steps...and define insanity.

You probably did what I did. I jumped right to Vanir, which might have messed with my radios. No matter what I flashed to, the problem remained. I posted a thread and Flyhalf was nice enough to point me in the right direction.
His instructions worked for me, so I recommend you try it, but obviously I can't guarantee anything

That's exactly what I did, actually. Everything works, but it seems like my signal strength should be better ( I'm usually around -100dBm).
Thanks for your help, I'll give it a shot.

I had both, but neither was great. Now I have data, and show 4 bars, but as soon as I hit the call button, it drops & says "out of service area"
I'm back on LiquidSmooth now & I'm gonna try a fix I read about on that thread.
Sent from my One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Update: still no dice. However, I restored a backup I had of PACMan & I'm back up and running. Signal strength still not fantastic, but I can make calls again, at least.
Sent from my One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I am seeing radio issues as well. Areas where I was at high signal now get me medium to low. Our fav restaurant dropped me to 3g for the first time ever last night, showing a low signal when on stock it was at high.
I am running PAC-Man rom. Signal is being measured by GSAM Battery Monitor Pro.
Voice and Data are working fine, just low signal. IMEI is not blank. Not sure what step to take next to diagnose the issue.

This is what I'm getting running PAC when I have full bars.

Wifi tether speeds...

I kept arguing with myself, if I should post this here or in the development forum, or what, so if a moderator feels the urge to move it, please do so.
Should end user speedtest via wifi tether (iPad) be somewhat similar to the results of 3g speedtest on the phone? I am trying to decide if I am getting in the neighborhood as what I should. I can be parked in the middle of a full bar signal area (I know, I know...the bars aren't fool proof, but all 4 at least means more than none or 1) and I only get about .9mbps on the phone and then about .7mbps on the iPad.
I'm using my Dinc (of course) and I'm running CM7 Final and the latest Incredikernal 2.6.37.6. I'm also using the wifi tether that's stock with CM7.
Thanks,
Roger

What radio are you using? Ive tried different radios and 4.08 and 11.19 work best for me for signal and data speed.
4.08 works great for me
I am using the stock HTC radio. As much of a cutting edge geek as I am, I'm really nervous about messing with the radio. Is it honestly as iffy as they make it sound, or is it no different than anything else, just gotta pay attention to what you're doing?

Check md5 sum, flash with full(ish) battery, and don't pull the battery while its flashing. Oh and make sure your SD is formatted fat32. Check those things and you'll be fine.

no more 4g

I rooted my tmobile S3 today and it worked fine. Later I installed a cyanogen nightly sang noticed it was only getting 3g, so I did a restore to the stock rooted firmware through ROM manger. With that I got just bars, no indication of 4g or 3g. The phone wouldnt go to the internet, it said no connection available. I had to restore back to cyangen to get the phone just to work... but regardless of which settings I chose the phone is stuck in 3g. What is the fix? I'm going crazy here

3G on cm is the same as 4G on tmo stock rom.
Try checking your apn settings on the stock rom since I think your imei is fine, without it you wouldn't have gotten 3G at all, even on cm.

Wait, are you just looking at the icon without it doing anything. Many aftermarket ROMs will show 3G when the phone is doing nothing. It will show 4G or H when you make it work.

It is not an LOL deal, if you have no clue that means you didn't bother reading anything about flashing a rom IMEI is mentioned all over, IMO you deserve no help what so ever since you think LOL is a proper response to not reading how to do the job the right way, enjoy your slow data speeds maybe if you learn to read it will work again

GPS fix

I found this through a post on Google plus and wanted to share it, make sure to thank the original ok mal posters in other thread if it helps. Tested on my I747 and it worked wonders. I just wanted to share the knowledge for those not wanting to jump through to many hoops.

Can be fixed by a simple EFS restore I believe. Did you not do a backup of it in the first place?
Everything I've read had involved going back to stock to get it to reset. I didn't even think GPS had anything to do with efs I thought that was just the imei and other info related to it. Plus this is still simpler doesn't even need a pc or any other apps just access to the stock dialer and a minute or two.

That sounds more like a hardware issue. My problem was that it would do nothing when the GPS was on in maps or anything else. No icon no nothing. After doing this it went back to normal.

Before everyone starts berating you for not installing another rom, I installed goldeneye and it was fine for a bit and got terrible lag on the home screen and app drawer. So I went back to rooted stock again. Only rom for my phone that is smooth.
Okay one of these thread whining about t mobile updates just got locked. Can we not start a new one?
If you want updates now, root your phone and update it to your heart's content. That is what XDA is here for.
If you want to stay stock for whatever reasons and complain about a lack of updates, do it on the t mobile forums. They have forums there that are monitored by people who might actually listen and do something about it. There are zero people from t mobile reading this thread.

I got the opposite - lag with stock and not with custom ROM's (and kernels) like Wicked and Omega.
The post above is good idea - flood the tmobile forum.
