[Q] Incompatible Apps - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Why does the Play Store list so many games as incompatible with the new Nexus 7? The same apps are listed as compatible with the N4...

They are probably not compatible with 4.3.

They aren't compatible with this resolution. Email the dev.

USAA Not compatible with Nexus 7

I just received a Nexus 7 and tried to install USAA Mobile on it. The Play store says that the app 'Isn't compatible with this device'. USAA mobile does work on my Galaxy Nexus (Jelly Bean) and Galaxy Tab 7.7
Does anyone know what the problem is, or if there is a workaround?
It might be a screen resolution issue - if the Nexus 7 resolution isn't listed as an approved resolution it won't install.
Pull or "backup" the apk then side load it on the N7

I restored the backed up copy from my SGS-II and that works fine, same for Whatsapp.
Can anybody please post the most recent version from the play store? I think it's dated 25 Sept 2012. The one I side loaded from titanium will not let me send money to people, the option is gone. I'm hoping the new version has this.

Gonna go out on a limb and guess you changed your dpi. Changing it can cause play store compatibility issues.

Data sync between devices

Does this exist in stock android I keep hearing about it but none of my games between my nexus 4 and 7 are in sync.

As far as I know you need root to sync your game progress...and even then its not automatic, you have to do it manually with an app called data sync. I've downloaded the app but haven't used it yet as I just got the tablet yesterday and I'm still in the process of setting everything up.
So, to answer your question, no that feature is not available in stock android yet. Some places said that the new play games app from google would allow this, but it doesn't at the moment.

If I am not wrong, this only works with games supporting Google play service, e.g. Stickman Golf 2, Temple Run 2 etc.

[Q] Google Play detects Nexus 7 as 'mobile' instead of 'tablet'?

When I download some Apps in Google Play, my nexus 7 shows mobile edition of the App. However, those apps appear a tablet edition on my friend's Sony Xperia Tablet Z.
Is it possible for me to get those table edition on my Nexus 7 instead of mobile edition?
The developer determines the layout for different devices. You could change your build.prop to trick the play store, but that is more trouble than its worth. The nexus 7 is still new, email the develoer asking for a tablet layout.
