[Q] USB mounted storage for copying files - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Just wondering if anyone can confirm that I am not crazy. I just tried to copy some ROMS to my sd card and it locked up after just one transfer...not enough space. It seems the phone won't mount the sd card (the properties shows very little space when I know this to be not true).
Is there a way to mount the storage for easy file transfering, or do I have to do everything by adb push/pull?
If it helps...I am running Ubuntu.

Same issue. Windows 7.

No issues here but I am on a Mac. dragged over 3 old roms totaling about 2.8 Gb without issues.

Just found this thanks to Flyhalf205 http://teamw.in/DataMedia.

[Q] Cyanogenmod and Droid Incredible internal memory

So I am running Cyanogenmod 6.0.2 and it doesn't recognize my internal memory. I have tried mounting it in recovery mode. Anyone know how to fix this because it kind of sucks to have only 2 gigs of storage :/
Don't think that functionality works yet. Dealing with same issue on ruby rom.

Last time I checked it was working fine. mounted and scanned automatically for music/images. The only thing that wasn't working was it would show up as a drive if plugged into a Mac but not on a Windows machine.
Thread moved to Q&A.
Also works fine here. Like others said... it does not yet work when using USB mode on a Windows PC (on a Mac it works fine).
if it doesn't show up as usb drive on windows, how should i move files to internal memory...?

Use a file manager app like Astro.
Everything seems to be working fine on 9/20 nightly.
yea this is driving me nuts in windows as well. what a pita... so the new roms don't take advantage of the fact that the phone has 8gb of internal memory?

Emulation of SD Card

Is or has anyone thought of or tried this?
What I would like to do is use a terminal of sort to run an emulator on my phone to run grub4dos off my phones SD card.

I'm confused on what you mean... our internal storage already mimics an SD card
So a home PC can run through "virtual memory" an environment where one can test USB Boot Devices. Qumeu is the program I am currently using to check my USB Flash drives with "ISO" files.
Essentially I run Qumeu and then I can see in a GUI my USB device and work with it.

What i have going is as such:
2 partitions on my SD-Card. First partition is for my phones pictures, apps and roms ect... Second partition has my ComputerToolbox on it. Grub4DOS is the bootloader along with the ISO's i am currently using for troubleshooting a computer.
What I am currently doing is "removing my MicroSD Card" and then put it into a "Standard SD Card". I then place that Standerd sdcard into the computer which I would be fixing and run things as if I were using a USB for preboot repair/recovery.
What i find interesting is for Android Devices I have to remove the SD Card.
For my IPhone one can just plug the phone in through a USB and not have the issue of the computer "Read" the device as a usb device.
Any and all help is very welcome... Thankyou.

[Q] Tiny's CM10.1: Needs SD Card?

I installed Tiny's CM10.1 on my DI but when I go to download files I'm told that the browser can't download anything without an SD Card. I can't find an option to make it work with internal storage. The same thing happens with the Camera. Am I doomed to use an SD Card with this phone?
I believe android requires an ad card perhaps you can fake an external sd card by symlinking it from internal storage.I'm not really an expert or anything but I think this is how phones like the droid DNA work.

A set of symlinks should technically work but you have to do it every boot and you need 3 symlinks for compatibility.

Cant he just do the vold.fstab edit to make the phone think emm is the sdcard?

[Q] SD card - Access Denied?!

I've copied files to and from my SD card several times before, including copying ROM files.
For some reason, I can't do it now. I've mounted my HOX. Firstly, it appears as two drives - HTC Storage and (for some reason) a CD Drive(???). In any case, I can open the storage and browse the SD card contents just fine. But if I try to delete any file from the SD, or try to copy a file to it from my PC, it gives me the old "Access is denied, disk is write-protected, etc. etc." error.
Anyone know what the hell happened?
P.S. My laptop is running Windows XP, and the HOX is running CM10 SE.

CD drive is partition in your phone containing drivers and HTC Sync Manager installation.
CM10 sometimes do "un-nice" things when mounting Mass Storage. Try restart your phone first, if it doesn't help, try mounting SD through recovery (there is definitely that entry in CWM and also in TWRP, afaik)
I'll try that out and report back.

[Q] SD Card copy freeze

Hi!
I just installed the UK Jelly Bean ROM on my Galaxy Ace 2 and i haven't noticed any issues while using the phone. However, when I try to copy a big file to my sd card connecting the phone to the computer (using mass storage mode), the copy process just freezes. Connecting the SD Card to a normal SD adapter works, there are not any issues copying files that way, but it's imposible to copy files using the phone. Any way to fix this?
Thanks!

I thought I was the only one! I don't think there's a fix for it, not as if Samsung care. Be careful, because of how many times I've had to re-copy files and the constant freezing my SD card was destroyed!

Yeah, that is really annoying, you are not the only one. I've noticed that on MB2 as well, I thought it was a problem in the leak version but it seems they did not bother fixing it. I don't think there is a fix apart from using MTP rather than mass storage for now. Or use apps like AirDroid (or similar) to copy files via WiFi/Data.

It may not be completely destroyed - have you tried running chkdsk /f (or fsck on linux) on your SD card? That saved my card anyway
I usually just take the SD out now and put it into a card reader, I don't like MTP or the hassle of other apps. Besides, I never use the internal SD anyway.
It's definitely dead, I've tried everything from low level formats to what you mentioned. Completely dead, like the one I had before it.. My last phone and the Ace have went through a 32gb SanDisk, 16gb SanDisk and a temporary 4gb no name card in the space of just over a year.
I've had a SanDisk Mobile Ultra 8gb in for a while now and it appears to be working fine so I'm quite happy atm
