you need to extract it first, it should be a FTF file format... From there you should be able to use Flashtool

Use flash-mode in flashtool for stock versions of ftf. Not fastboot.
Sent from my LT28at using xda app-developers app
I tried using the flash mode!!!
My phone remains in the flash mode for about 5-10 seconds & then it goes back to charging!!!!
Make sure the fastboot/any necessary driver are installed....
And when it ask to enter the flashmode, power down your devices, then press volume down button (HOLD) and insert the usb cable, don't let go the volume down button as soon as the cable is inserted in...wait for a few seconds after the green light aka flashmode appeared...

Drivers can be found in the drivers folder of flash tool. Also make sure no other program is using abd. Eg: Sony update software.

There's only one version, and it doesn't give me a choice. What do you mean by v1 and v2? Can you direct me to the link?
EDIT: I followed a guide from a random website and flashed CWM. Seems like it's V2 and it's working. Thanks

I tried soft reset and hard rest does not work. I unlocked the bootloader.
I put it in the flash mode and connect with the laest flashtool.
It showed my device, and I waited for the firmware .200.
After all the stuff finished. My phone didnot show anything even the sony bootloop.
Phone was rooted with lock bootloader before brick.
Anyone can help me?
Get a rubber band (or 2)
Put it around your xs holding power and volume up and leave it for about 20 mins
Try seeing if you can flash something after waiting

edit: also you can do this via sony pc companion
support zone>repair device> follow instructions
if that doesnt work try the next method
download flashtool (install)(can be found on xda file server)
download ftf (development section)
place ftf in flashtool/firmware/ (after install of course)
install drivers (can be found on sony website)(maybe developer under downloads
open flashtool
click the lightning bolt (top left)
click flashmode
select your firmware
folow instructions

You can use the kernel from Android Original Dev Section, But before that, you need to Backup your TA Partition and then Unlock the bootloader if you wish to have a custom kernel and/or a recovery..
