As far as I know the bootloader is unlocked already. If you want a custom rom just root and install a custom recovery then flash away. (Make sure you flash right rom for your device). Personally I recommend phils recovery. If in any doubt just follow one of dr ketan guides and you won't go wrong

Ho wow is it That would be great , by any chance is there a way that i could find it out ?
I am flashing CARBON ROM , i was using this as a daily driver on my xperia z Phils recovery ? i was used to CWM and TWRP recovery as they not good with Note 2 ?? :/

Phils touch recovery is cwm based but with a touchscreen interface like twrp so that's why its popular. Like I said the best bet is to follow dr ketans guide or I'm sure phils recovery thread has an all in one root and recovery flash. Just flash that with odin then you can flash carbon rom. That's pretty much it just don't flash N7100 on a N7105 or vice versa and you can't really go wrong

Root and s-off are two different things, s-off is what allows you to flash a new recovery, ROM, etc.
As for bricking, the one-click will probably brick your device which is why it's posted everywhere to not use it.
It will never brick it doing this. Brick is from flashing bootloaders etc which you won't be doing. If things go bad when flashing a rom just download a stock rom and flash that or start over etc. Read up on rom manager and clockwork mod recovery. I'm no pro but most roms have root baked in so when you flash the rom it will have root. Worst case when you flash rom you won't have root anymore but will be very easy to get

There is no recommended 'one click' root method for the DZ/G2. If you want to flash a custom ROM your best bet is to follow the wiki here.

For some custom roms you need to flash kernels via fastboot and for this you need unlocked bootloader.
if bootloader it's locked use Google and search there is official way to unlock but you will lose warranty and drm.

First flash any kernel you want instructions will be given from where you will download like doomkernel it has inbuit recovery. Reboot into recovery choose your rom
Wipe system, chache, dalvik chache install zip from sd card
Dont flash ics rom over gb kernel or gb rom over ics kernel or it will cause bootloop

Read the instructions. These threads just highlight why there should be a time limit for new members before they're allowed to post.

Considering you already have flashtool and your desired kernel follow this :
1) Plug in your phone in fastboot mode [S-Off, hold menu key and plug in to PC]
2) Place you .img on your desktop
3) Open up flashtool, select fastboot mode and select flash kernel and select it from the desktop
4) Once kernel is flashed un plug your device restart it open up CWM and flash desired ROM.
Hopefully i helped you out

You need to unlock your bootloader. Root is not needed at all.

Yes root is not required so tell what exact error you are getting and first confirm that you have adb drivers installed

eeerrr. Do u use xperia s?
To op: yes u can and should flash root (superuser / supersu ) via cwm and u should flash the cwm again. Unless u have unlocked bootloader then u don't need to do that..

Try flashing a kernel that has CWM recovery on it, provided you have an unlocked bootloader.
