So what it says there. I can't figure out what is making it open.

They did lol. They are right. It seems though some apps aren't recognized correctly, for example, Messenger. It might think it's on the home screen, which it is, but if I'm writing on Messenger to someone my instinct tells me to press home to get out.

Just go into "my magazine" and open settings and disable "open using the home key"

Does anyone else find this annoying? If you put apps in a folder on the home screen and open one of those apps, when you push the home button, it will bring you to that opened folder view and not the home screen, so you essentially have to push the home screen twice, but you can't do that too fast or else it will bring up the s-voice.
Is there a setting I'm missing to disable this?

Turn of s-voice. In its options
Use different launcher to change folder close behavior.
Tap anywere outside the folder while on home screen to close folder.

Thanks for the thoughts, but none if those are really what I'm looking for.
I know about touching outside of a folder, but that is still another step(which is really what this whole rant is about), i would like to not have to turn s-voice off and more so not have to double click to get home, I'm trying to find a solution to the stock UI of TW, thanks again though.

I have a folder in my homescreen thst I store google maps, navigation, and mapdroyd. I just opened mapdroyd from the folder, then hit the home key and it went back to my homepage with no open folders. I am running nova prime and my note is rooted with a stock rom. Working as intended on my end. Hope that helps.

Other option is a foder widget. Not sure of the name but there are a few on the play store. Instead of making a folder you use the widget but it can act like a folder holding icons for apps.

You know when you select a piece of the page with the spen holding the button? After that an option to share pops up. Well it doesn't pop up anymore. I have to go into gallery to share it. Any idea how I disabled this accidentally? Thanks

Does anybody know if its possible to program the home so a double tap brings up messaging and a long press brings up Google now? If so how could I do that?

If you are running stock TW then the short answer would be no. If you are using a custom launcher like Apex or Nova there are settings in the launcher behavior section where you can tweak to perform actions.
yeah, it's impossible on touchwiz,
I don't know about the customizability of the button on launchers, since i don't use them

If you hold down the menu button it'll bring up Google now. Unless you're in an app then it'll pop up the search engine. You're on your own on the messaging one tho lol. Double taping home takes you to S. Voice.

and hold down the back button shows/hides the side bar for multi window view (if you have it enabled)
Hi...
I want to turn on multi Window automatically after power on or restart my phone. I'd search through this forum and even in Google but I couldn't find the answer.. I had tried "auto run manager" but it can't help.. Can anyone please tell me how to do that?
Thanks in advance..

When you restart the phone, some settings such 3g wifi on or off and this case multi window on or off is saved and is the same on restart.
If you meant the tab on the screen to bring up the multiwindows, the shortcut is press and bold the back button when on homescreen.
Otherwise not such how I can help

Thanks for help.. But I already know about that.. I'm just so lazy to long press "back" key to bring up multi Window bar and instead, the bar will appear automatically at system start.. So, though my problem is not important and can be even called "insane", I'll appreciate all help if possible
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Another reason other than laziness is " I just wanna replace back key long press to open my favorite app using simplistic framework"
I mean.. If multi Window automatically appear at system start, I can use back key long press to open my most used app

What happened to the Settings Button that you could add to the Buttons across the Home Screen "Settings\Display\Home touch buttons" Settings Button "III" (line are sideways and not straight up)
This button is not available with the G4, I have apps that utilize that button.
Does anyone have any info on this or how you might be able to add this??
Thank you
Try holding down the recent button.

I tried what you had said, that take you to the Phone Settings Menu. I have always in the past used Enhanced Email for my email program. With that app installed there is no way to get into the settings menu. I think that there are a few other apps that you can't get into the Setting Menu for too, but that is my main one.
That's the "info" icon that you are describing. In Android 5.1, this was replaced by the 3 dots icon, typically located on the top right of the app that you're trying to access the menu on.

Mike I took another look at what you said, and it worked. Thank you for the help with this.
Glad to help!

Yep, holding down the recent apps button will give you the menu option in every app.
