Problems installing modded google play - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I think I've tried everything to install the modded version of google play.
-Opening the .apk directly in file browser gives me an immediate fail or a "free some more space" warning (I have the 32gb One and huge amounts of space)
-Running through lucky patcher doesn't do anything. It just completes and there's no change. I've run it patched to android, unpatched to android, no difference.
-Running "install cracked google play" app immediately restarts the phone, no change.
-Flashing a .zip file does nothing.
-Factory reset, install everything from scratch, reboot, no change.
Even if I replace Phonesky.apk in system directory with a modded version, it STILL reverts back to 3.10.9 on a reboot. I've tried so many different versions, nothing makes any difference.
Seriously need some help from the experts. I'm running jelly bean 4.2 on AT&T.

Maybe you should ask in the AT&T forum. We don't have many people unlocked here on Verizon yet to get advice from on getting it to work with our device.

Have you tried Lucky Patcher? It automaticly removes left over files on startup which will cause this error.

I've tried to install modded google play store v4.4.21 through lucky patcher but even then I've had issues wherein apps like Titanium Backup Pro & Next Launcher check licence & then display an error

Android market download problems solved :)

This was a big problem for me, and I wasted many many hours trying to solve the problem of the android market, that didn't donwload, update or install anytnhig.
But i found the solution in a forum and my market is working fine now
Epsilonbass from droid forums.net:
"Connect your phone to your computer, set in usb mass storage mode. Look for a hidden folder called ".android_secure" and then delete the file "smdl2tmp1.asec". Unmount and you should be good to go."
And all is working
I don't have smdl2tmp1.asec in that folder
Are you referring to the problem of random things being considered "not compatible" for your phone?
Yeah if you are talking new market (version 3.x) the problems go deeper than that.
Custom dpi (lcd density) causes the incompatible problem.
I went back to market 2.3.6

You don't understand how much I have tested to try to find the reason behind it. I was going to test that tomorrow morning. It's always the last thing.
Is there a way to force the app to download regardless of screen density? My Desire is showing more and more apps as incompatible because I use a density of 200 instead of 240... don't really feel like changing back just for an app install or two.
i solved this problem by clearing data , cache , uninstalling update of Market and rebooting my phone
Thankfully I have a backup of 2.3.6, which appears to be the last version that is even remotely usable.
I regularly have to restore 2.3.6 in order to update an app. Of course after a while the Market updates itself to the latest 3.x version (thanks for that). Usually things work for a while after this update, but eventually there will be an app update that either can't be installed (no install option) or that is flagged as not being available in my country (even though it's already installed. So I have to restore 2.3.6 again and the cycle continues...
I use the default LCD density and clearing the Market cache and data doesn't help.
Bottom line, Market 3.x is just plain buggy.
Google is really messing up with this.

If you use titanium backup you can freeze "market updater" to put an end to that.

Does that just prevent the Market from being updated or does it also stop apps from being updated? I'm assuming it's only the Market. Anyway I'll try it and see what happens, thanks.

No such file, either with computer, or terminal app, or rooted explorer.
But I've finally managed to get rid of this bug, deleting Market data with Titanium Backup, as I could only delete cache in Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All Applications > Android Market (which was not enough).
My friend was getting "purchase canceled" error for free apps on Archos honeycomb tablet.
Market version was 1.x but looked like no market I have ever seen. We installed the 3.1.5 from my thunderbolt over his tablet version, and now he can download again.
With the new market not able to update or download new applications.
Wiping market data only tempararily allows downloads.
Marker 2.3.6 is only working.
To prevent auto update, delet or rename marketupdater.apk
It solved my problem.
But, why can't we use the new version?

[UPDATE][App][JellyBean PLAY STORE]3.7.13[3rdJuly2012]

UPDATE: 3rd July 2012
yet another update guys, this time Jelly Bean version 3.7.13
i will also leave the previous version attached.
Note: for some reason google has renamed the apk file name to phonesky no idea why, so i was a bit baffled when trying to find the apk in system/apps folder lol
i know that most people will recieve the update automatically sooner or later, but for people in regions with a slow rollout grab it from the attachment.
also any devs that want to integrate it into their rom, makes it easier for the end user rather than them having to update.
Hope it helps.
Enjoy guys.
Thanks a lot,it is faster than 3.3.11.
Your welcome.
Yeah feels much faster now.
This is how it should have been from the beginning
Thank you very much, a lot better than previous version.

Waaaaayyyy too fast.
Thanks a lot.
I didn't notice such a huge difference. Maybe because I use it on WiFi mainly.
The Market servers are responding better now and I downgraded to 3.1.13 without feeling a difference that justifies the memory usage.
Thanks anyway to all involved.

Try install it like any other .apk using a file manager don't forget to clear cache and data before first use, in application manager.
Then use titanium backup to push the update into the rom.
the market can b fix by installing this update in cm7...see improvement after reboot..
Buggy
I saw it as a fast but useless upgrade. Try relinking market links with Titanium or Rom Manager Pro. Doesn't work and loses all your market links on a recovery from backup. Shows installed apps as uninstalled, etc. It's random and buggy.
Uninstalled and reinstalled, cleaned data, cache etc.. No go.
Reverted to 3.3.12 and no problems. All my market linked apps came back and showed me all the updates I'd been missing out on since early December.
Going to wait on this one. Market 3.3.12 isn't all that slow anyways.

Yes I did clean cache and data from the old Market. It's still a bit slow loading images but I admit that it's slightly better than the previous version. Now I'm using it because basically my phone auto-installed it and I won't downgrade again.
I had to use Root Explorer, delete the system/app/vending.apk, copy the new market3.3.3.apk to same folder, rename it to vending.apk then rebooted phone and the market was there, working.
Rooted, latest RocketRom v13 with abyssnote.
This was automatically downloaded as an update for me. O_O
yes, faster but bigger.. and for s-on users is new market horror moovie...

Log into your google account and check your wallet. There may be an issue with your payment method. If everything is fine, try deleting the app and then reinstalling the market. You can google "android market apk" to find it, or Google "google play apk". Download and install.
If that still doesn't solve, it could also just be the Google servers having an issue.

might be a ROM issue
I have the same "error processing issue" problem. I often have to clear my market cache/data, which works sometimes. So I called google market play to see if there were any issues in my account, and the rep said there was none. His theory was that there might be some issues with the custom ROM (ARHD) I installed, since I only started having problems after I installed it. Anyway, I think the only solution for now is the clear cache data approach, or better yet, hope that our ROM builders are able to address the issue.
As an aside, my ARHD is working perfectly, except for this market issue (cum hoc, ergo propter hoc?)
I also have a custom rom installed and had this same issue, I resolved it by uninstalling updates for the google play store app, and then it worked...at least for now.
I recently started messing with various roms and themes when this issue popped up for me. I searched the web and tried the various methods (removing gmail account, not updating, etc) with little luck. After hours of frustration, I finally found out what was causing the issue.
I was using Titanium Backup to back up all my files and restore them as I was flashing between the various roms, that was the trouble maker.
When you back up your files before a flash, make sure you do not back up the google/play store. So, if you are having problems, try to go trough these steps and it should fix it.
Back up all your files (minus play store) in Titanium Backup.
Reboot phone into clockwork.
Reset Factory Data x3
Wipe Cache x3
Install your rom from zip
Once your phone is booted up again, do not enable Wifi (for now)
Do not add a Google Account
Go to the market and download Titanium (will prompt to add Google account, do so)
Exit the Market
Go back to the market (it should now have auto updated to play store)
Try to download another app, any app, it should work
You can now use Titanium to restore all your apps and data, but make sure that you do not restore anything with the market/play store in it.
I did this yesterday, restored all my games, contacts, text messages, etc and it has worked fine for me ever since.
I am running slickMOD Supreme with the Darkside Kernel.
Hope this helped at least a few of you as I know how big of a headache this was for me.
All is good now. However, it does still happen with a couple apps, free or paid. I can't remember which ones but it gives the processing purchase error. Very rare albeit still present.

Aloha;
Sounds like an ID mismatch here. Happens whenever you do a factory reset or change ROMs. I'm guessing that the ID is a hash of the phone and the ROM, maybe. Anyway, the device ID is what ties the phone to your Google account and apps use this to determine whether you paid for the installed app or run as a freeware version.
Titanium now offers the choice of reverting the id back to the old one or ignore the change. I prefer NOT to change the ID back as I've ran into more id mismatch problems down the road than just keeping the new ID. I too use Titanium to backup my apps and data, and use it to quickly restore my apps and data to a new installation on my phone (whether it be a factory reset or a new ROM, or even a reinstallation of the current ROM). Whenever I have a misbehaving app that reverts back to the freeware version or complains about licensing problems, I then uninstall the app and then reinstall the app directly from the Play Market. That has always fixed the problem for ME. Your Mileage May Vary, which mean while it works for me, it MAY not work for you. Keep that in mind before you start biatchin that it doesn't work.
Oh, yeah, also try rebooting after the reinstallation. If nothing else, Dalvik and Cache!
Mahalo,
-Lance

I've run into this a few times after doing a restore from a backup or swapping ROMs. Best way I can fix it is go to Google Services Framework, stop it, clear the data. Next go to Google Play, stop it. Uninstall any updates, then clear the data. Reboot phone. Go to Google Play again, accept terms, and now it should work. Just some advice.

[Q] Google Play force closes

So I have MikG 3.1.1 with ducks combat theme, although I doubt that has any relevance, but up until today, my market worked fine. I could update apps, download apps, everything. But today when I went to try and download Instagram and then some games.... no matter what I do (Besides a full wipe and reflash.) I can't get it to work!!!
I've tried clearing cache, D-cache, data from market, uninstall market and placeing it into system/app folder with the modified permissions.... BUT NOTHING WORKS?
So what the hell can I do besides a full reflash? I really don't want to do a reflash because I ****ing hate putting apps back on my phone and recustomizing my settings
Might work if you use Titanium Backup to backup apps and settings, then do the wipe and restore from the backup made. Also probably wouldn't hurt to dig around for a market update

That's just it though, I don't mind TB, it's just a pain in the ass because some of the apps I have to actually DL from the market; if it's not working then I won't be able to restore all my apps. And I've tried other apk's laying around. I don't get it... This seems recent because there's a lot of threads I see from around the start of april but no possible fix, not for evo's yet anyway
Any help here guys it's driving me totally crazy. I've tried downloading an old market version before it got updated to "Google Play" and I can't even get it to open and update... WTF is going on here?
I literally have done nothing new to my phone in the past week. I was browsing apps the other day and downloaded pudding camera fine no problem. Wake up today to download another for my tumblr, but now everytime I try and wipe data/cache of Play Store, followed by trying to download something it FC's and will further FC, not even opening up afterwards.
I really don't want to reflash my ROM but it seems like I have no other option... Come on people, I know this issues has to be floating around with some kind of fix.
I don't know if this'll help, but have you tried booting into recovery and fixing permissions.

Go over to the Samsung epic touch 4g forum, go to themes and apps, find the thread "inverted Google apps" by rujules23 and go to his site. Download the market v3.5.16 for the evo, should just be called market v3.5.16 and not have E4GT on the end the E4GT version is specific to the epic touch and flash the zip in recovery that market should work for you, it will say market and have a blue and white shopping bag icon, it's inverted black with blue trim and modified to say market instead of play store on the icon. It fixed my play store problems when it kept acting weird(purchased apps saying they weren't purchased, FC's, apps incompatible, etc)

Yes I have tried. I've even tried the modded apk.
I will however, albeit being inverted, try the other suggestion with the flashable zip and post back with results
There's been a known issue with some of the new versions Google Play Store not downloading and throwing up error codes and such.
So I just downloaded one of the early versions until they iron out the kinks.
Here's the one that seems to work ok found here: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-google-play-store-apk-3-4-6/
Its the 3.4.6 version. Scroll down.

Tried the inverted, no dice. In fact, worse than before. I can't even agree to the TOS and it instantly FC's on me. At least before I could wipe data and cache and browse, until I tried to download something.
Going to try the previous version as mentioned. However, won't it try to auto update when I open it?
Still nothing. Constantly getting the error. The only difference now is I cannot even browse the market now. I aknowledge that market is changing to play store, it crashes... I open it again and asks me to accept ToS. Then instantly FC's.
Any other fixes guys? I'm beginning to think I have to reflash my rom which I really don't want to.
Any MikG users here can confirm if I can just flash the Update version over my current setup to maintain my apps and settings or will that break my theme and everything else? CUrrent theme is Ducks Combat
Did you delete the market completely before installing the inverted one?

Reflash with the update version? Cuz the other version is a full wipe inside the zip. More laboration please?
And yes I did delete the Vending.apk, market.apk, reboot, install, reboot, and try. Still errors
*sigh*
Checked on some of my old posts and may have found a fix to my FFC camera issue which is unrelated to this thread. What IS related however, is when I was flashing it, I accidentally wiped my sdext and now I can't unlock my phone for some reason. Just my wallpaper and my status bar...
So against my wishes it would seem I have to reflash the entire mikg rom. (
However, in my previous post about simply reflashing the rom OVER my current setup, anybody care to explain still?
No worries guys, had to eventually reflash anyway and working even better than before. Making nandroid to prevent any future errors. Proceed with closing thread

That maybe the Play Store thinking you have a newer Android version, even though that is strange considering that ICS and JB apps should all be compatible.
Try this, go to Application Manager from the Settings menu (or you can access it by using the context menu in the app drawer) and then select the Google Play Store. You then delete de data and cache from the app and relaunch it again to see if the problem is gone.
Did you make any changes to your build.prop file?
I'm getting the same error when trying to update Google Search through the app store. I'm also getting 'package file is invalid' when trying to update Tapatalk and a couple other apps that don't come to mind now.
This all started after I tried a new ROM that I didn't like then did a restore using Titanium to go back to Sick Sense. I backed up the data then wiped the phone (dalvik and all other caches), then reinstalled the ROM. Afterwards I restored the entire Titanium backup apps and data.
This is the first time I've wiped and re-romd since I initially rooted/romd six months ago. Until now I've never had any issues downloading apps from play store.
Could there be a file that was restored that possibly should not have been restored?
I tried what was suggested above but it didn't work. Any ideas?

I'm having similar problems as the OP is and I did change my build.prop. The sdk version was changed to 19 and then I had to change it back because my device was unusable with it set to 19. I should also note that I lost root after it was changed the first time, and I think I might also loose root on every reboot. It seems to be at a random time root disappears but I assume it's because of a reboot. I'm running the stock att sense 5 rom with 4.2.2, should be api 17. Has a solution been found to this?
Note - I understand this isn't the correct forum for the att HTC one x. The problem is similar to what I have and I didn't want to create a new thread.

Try doing a full wipe and install back the rom or flash the rom again with wiping cache and dalvik?
