I'm looking for a ROM for my S4 M919, so far I've tried 4 ROMs and all had removed most of the galaxy S4 features one the things I love the most is the touchwiz camera which almost all ROMs remove is there any ROM out there that keeps most of the S4 features like s health, touchwiz camera, air gestures please don't say stock because the stock ROM on my S4 is crap its slow most apps crash any suggestions would be really appreciated and thanks.
Just saying that these type of threads are not allowed on xda, because there is no "best" ROM out there only YOU decide from testing ROMs which one suits your needs. Check out the ROM section and see their features and pick one you like.

Asking which ROM is best isn't allowed in xda. Everybody has their own opinion. My personal favorite is the wicked ROM. It's great.

After flashing over 100 roms the "Wicked v7" rom here in XDA is the BEST rom which I have ever seen or found here in
these XDA forums for the M919 Samsung Galaxy S4 phone, check it out!
The "Wicked v7" rom is based on the Samsung Touchwiz M919 Galaxy S4 and it has all the bells and whistles you were
asking about, and none have been replaced.
I agree with you about the fact that so many roms like AOSP/AOKP/Google Edition all lack those touchwiz full featured
professional looking apps like the camera and all those excellent "S" features and much more.
There is no BEST and yet they are all the BEST. Members are expected to research and read through the development threads before altering their device. The only thing you will get here is a list of all the ROM/KERNEL because every member has found what is best for them. You can get the same list by looking at the first few pages in development.

Have a great day!

Hi im currently using the frosty jellybean v7 rom for my gs3. But i really dislike the battery life for this rom.
Im looking for a good rom, touch wiz or not. With a good battery life and great features in a most stable manner. Also, if there is one that can wifi tether t mobile, than let me know of my options. Also if possible, is there a non touchwiz rom with actual touchwiz features like svoice or motion/nfc?
Thanks in advance.
Best advice is just to try each one. You're going to get a different answer from everyone and only you know exactly what you want. That being said, it's AOKP for me.

There's quite a few AOSP/CM based ROMS in the original development section if you want to stay on JB but try something new and without Touchwiz. Battery life is decent too especially cuz alot of the Samsung bloat isnt running.
AOSP Roms use android's built in Wifi Tether. Not sure if this is compatible with how T-mobile's tethering plan works as I'm on a Canadian variant. NFC is available on these roms as well but SBeam is not.
As for the Touchwiz features, some of them can be mimicked with apps though how I'm not sure how effective or faithful these apps are. Try googling the name of the feature and add "Aosp" or "Galaxy nexus" to the search to see if there is a stock version of that feature

There is no best or worst roms. Its all about personal preference. The best thing to do is just flash different roms untill you find one that suits your personal needs. That being said...... I like loser rom. It looks close to stock , has the features i was looking for and I havent had any issues with it so far. Also xda moderators frown upon questions about " best" roms and usually close these types of threads.

Yeah, it's a matter of just trying them out. If you want a more "stock" feel, check out Jedi Invasion 2.1. If you want something different, CM10 and AOKP are two popular choices
Hello,
My friend just got the galaxy s3 for sprint and he asked me to install him a nice rom, similar to my phone. Im from tmobile so I am not familiar with the sprint gs3 roms. I want a rom that uses Touchwiz, deoxed, and not too many bloat ware. On the tmobile forums we have Wicked by Deviant Development, is there anything similar to it? Thanks
Search in android development...all of those are "not original" roms, so mainly based on TW
I would recommend freezas simple stock rooted rom
No idea what wicked is but these are good ROMs.

Figured those two would pop up in the next post or two on this one
Just make sure you send them to visit Morphology (In OP of the TPR or (The People's Rom) Thread. Customize it for your liking.
goodness 9.0.4 and TPR 3.14 (the peoples rom) are both excellent!

I can ENTHUSIASTICALLY recommend The People's ROM....It has many very useful tweaks like the app killer by holding the menu button and the multi-view by holding the back button.
It also works flawlessly. I would suggest using the stock Kernel as me and a few others had excessive battery drain using KTOONZ kernel.
The developer, Kenny, is very active here and is very quick to address any problems that may arise. He is a top notch developer and I trust his work. I have been flashing ROMs for years and if I were putting it on a friends phone I wouldn't look at anything else.
Your friend will thank you for hooking him up with this ROM.
I get all my roms from galaxys3root.com. it has all carriers and direct downloads for the which ever carrier you need. I recomend reading the comments though, not all roms are stable.

I'm not going to ask the dreaded "what's the best custom rom" question but I'd like some opinions on some users.
I'm looking for something that's stock based, debloated, optimized kernel for batter or possible options to oc/uv, things like that.
All responses will be appreciated.

friggin gettin' it done, buddy. love it
who is your service provider? in the android developer section there are stock based roms that are debloated. ignore the above link for most part. just a sausage measuring thread really. go to the source of roms and find one. you can always change it. personally I use wicked v8 which sure looks stock and I get better battery. but go out and experiment. if there was a best rom it would be the only rom
you need to do the research yourself and decide what you like. not that hard, just a bit of reading, maybe a bit of flashing.

Personally the 2 best ones I've used so far are the XperiaZ rom and LiquidSmooth RC2..
LS being very Nexus-ish and is JB 4.2.2
Fastest and smoothest I've tested so far (out of about 8 or so)
The Xperia rom is like a modified stock TW with some cool features like the Sony home screen customizations and has the option to have the Note 2 cam and gallery, features intact.
Both roms last about 20+ hrs with pretty heavy use..
But they all have their different perks and strengths, weaknesses, etc..
Basically up to you to flash multiples until you find a good stable daily driver that suits all your needs
Be sure to follow instructions meticulously and read read read!
Make sure also to hit "thanks" to people that help you and consider a donation to a rom dev that's spent their hard earned time to cook up these cool options for us!
Happy Flashing!

op said something stock based. and you throw out an aosp rom. if you like touchwiz, like me, aosp will probably annoy you. and as for add-ons. well you can tinker a bit. like my rom didnt have nexus cam with the sphere cam so I just flashed it in a separate zip file. you can just debloat what you already have after you root and get a new kernal. kernals will improve your battery life on their own. but yea. read stuff

My Spring Note 2 is currently stock rooted, and I'm thinking of beginning to start downloading and exploring some of the rom's out there. But before doing so, I'm wondering is anyone has any advice a pros and con's of each one, or maybe interested in starting one? Not looking for what the 'best' may be, as that's a personal choice, but more of a feature list, etc of each rom.
I would really like to test the Jedi rom, but unfortunately it is not available for the sprint note 2.
I have use lots of aokp roms as well as touchwiz and my experiences are that aokp roms losses signal a lot % 20 percent of areas I have use cm, carbon, pacman, paranoid, stock aokp and all of them seems to be the same but paranoid and pacman have a bit better signal, now on touchwiz roms you will not see that I recommend macks rom or lab rat rom for me this 2 roms are stable I have try many more but some of them have to much theme. I hope this help you if you have any question let me know as I have try lots of roms Thanks

Or u could do what I do, which theres probably many like me. I am stock rooted well almost I flash many mods from this site or found in other roms so its like building your own rom things such as themes, kernels mods like the bravia engine.

If you want the latest version of android use a AOSP rom. I highly recommend it. Carbon ROM is super fast, smooth and has great features. Good benchmark scores paired with plasma kernel too.

All roms have pros and cons, but only the individual user can make those determinations as all users are different.
Threads like these get closed as the always spiral into arguments about which rom is best, members are expected to do their own research and reading to determine what it is they want.
