Simply unlocking boot loader and flashing stock rooted rom nearly bricked my phone and definitely bricked wife's phone. Now my wife is on her old evo due to bricking and I don't want to go through this again on the my lg when jelly bean comes out next month. HTC was much easier and more reliable. Just my 2 cents.

If you have cwm just use the freegee app to change to twrp

I have done this 3x on two different phones using TWRP and have not had one issue. I am not sure what happened but I promise you it was not the phone. CWM is buggy, so I see why your wife's phone is messed up. However I can only assume you have some corrupted download to explain your issues on the other phone. I have also walked a kindergarten teacher with no computer skills beyond word through this over instant message with no problems.

Yea I dont think you like the phone, there is nothing quirky about this phone. Its fast looks beautiful and has awesome battery life.
I like other members have used all the tools avail to root on 6 different phones and haven't had a single issue.
If your flashing stock deodexed ZV9 over ZV8 then you absolutley going to need to wipe everything and only use twrp at the current moment as it is the most stable recovery we have.
There is never a reason to not do a full factory reset wipe cache/dalvik cache other than being lazy , and yes I understand that having to re-do all apps and contacts is a pain but if you use gmail to its potential ( all of us androiders should) then logging back into your account does most of the work and leaves no room for questions or error.
I've never had any issue at all with flashing

A little help please? I can root ZV9 and ZVB but continue to have issues with installing a customer recovery. I get the bootloop on the LG logo. I can always get into download mode and fix it back to stock but no further than that. I must be missing something. Steps are as follows
1. Root my LGOG with fiddy619's ZV9 AND ZVB/JB Root zip. SuperSU and root checker say all is good
2. protect root with Voodoo OTA root keeper
3. Instal and run FreeGee from the play store (latest version 0.6.0.1). FreeGee congratulates me.
4. Install custom recovery and close FreeGee
5. Open up GooManager and update to newest TWRP 2.4.3.0
6. reboot to recovery (tried several methods, manual, reboot recovery from GooManager, QuickBoot)
7. cross all appendages and pray
8. LG bootloop
I can get back into download mode and fix it with LGNPST and rescue my phone to ZV9. So for me... root is easy just no recovery. Can TWRP be flashed from the stock recovery if I place the flashable TWRP zip in my cache folder?
Have you tried to LGNPST back to ZV7 then use the aio tool. It worked great for me.

I tried it once before after I restored my phone from a soft brick caused by the update, then I ran freegee and it would show the screen where it says the bootloader was unlocked with the LG logo then jump to another screen with just the LG logo and just kept looping in that boot forcing me to do another restore. Flash it back to stock. You're going to lose all data on the phone. At this point I think it's your only option. See if you can get into download mode. Turn it off, hold down volume up and plug it into your computer via USB. Then do all the stuff in that thread.

Sorry to hear that. Download LG Flash tool 2014. (Find instructions on xda on how to use it... Super easy)
Enter this link followed by your imei at the end of the link with no spaces.(youll find it on your phones box)
smg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=
The link will look like an error message, but will include another link to your most current firmware kdz format, enter it, it will start the download.
Put the phone in download mode.
Take the kdz file put it in LG Flash tool 2014 and follow the on screen instructions. It should take 5 min.

Same, I totaly Harfbricked my G3 because of experimentation. My carrier gave me a brand new one tho.
Hey all,
I have an LG G2 with Sprint. About two days ago they announced that Lollipop would (finally) be coming to the G2. Ever since that announcement, I have been checking manually for an update on my phone every couple of hours but it continually says that my system is "up to date." Obviously that's not the case because I'm still running KitKat. Many other people seem to have gotten it already, What gives?
