Hello there, I have experienced that for some reason my cellphone lags everytime I'm playing any game (Examples: Angry birds, Hungry Shark Evolution, Sheep Happens), currently I'm running the latest paranoid android rom with the kernel it's been put in the topic in PA topic. If anyone could give me any advice would be pretty appreciated.

Mess some with trickster mod and custom kernels. If that doesn't work try an other ROM and if that fails maybe you should go back to stock with fastboot.

I'm a new user and I don't know much about trickster mod, What could I do with it?
I figuare out the problem of the game lag, the CPU temperature limt!
If you're using custom kernel, set the limit to 74, and u will find out it smoothly on game play, plus if you oc the gpu to 384, its almost lag free, but frame drop is also here coz the gpu power.

Im new to xperia play and... i want to know whats the best custom rom for gb and ics. my friend told me that the best for gb is trueancestor... is it really good? on ics, he told me xdark ics rom is the best, is it?
It's a matter of preference,
I use CM9 RC2
For Gingerbread, I love the rom Gin2Jellybean
I use cm9 rc 2 with fxp Turbo 1 kernel. Very smooth so far for the most part .

Camera works fine, The only browser related problem I've came across was when I went to youtube.com instead of the app then proceeded to skip a few minutes into the video... then I got a message saying the browser is not responding... other than that it's awesome, one complaint tho. The sound QUALITY is better but the sound VOLUME is lower than the stock GB.
OK, so this is going to be my thread for unofficial CM10 builds...
@makelegs also has JellyBro nightly builds, but the main difference is I don't include any cherry-picks... only the official CM10 commits... If you'd like bleeding edge, do try those builds!!!
I've built this ROM with @ktoonsez kernel as my base... so you have OC/UC (100Mhz to 2100Mhz), with adjustable voltages and many CPU governors...
Do note, though, that CyanogenMod 10 is still a work in progress and may have bugs and issues...
Features:
1. CyanogenMod 10 - Android 4.2.1 [as of 01/12/2012 8:30AM Pacific Time]
CM10 features include: ThemeChooser themes, configurable notification lights, circle battery, the classic notifications power widget (turned off by default), volume-rocker wake & music controls, profiles, quiet hours, performance settings and many more2. USB OTG support just like my AOSP+ 4.2.1 ROM
3. Kernel 3.4.20 with OC with 2100Mhz and UC to 100Mhz, with adjustable voltages & a lot of governors [use OC and voltage changes with caution]
4. UNC patched busybox (this is not yet part of CM10)
New in 01 Dec 2012 Build:
1. Updated device overlays for CM10.
2. Enabled expanded desktop and torch
3. Added more screen timeouts
4. Patched power HAL which does not revert OC after screen-off [credit ktoonez & myself]
6. Updated CM10 source as of 01/12/2012 8:30AM Pacific Time
Known issues:
Performance settings menu cannot adjust CPU speeds. Use apps like SetCPU.
Disclaimer:
I can make no guarantees that your experience with this ROM will be flawless. If you decide to flash this ROM, remember that you are doing so at your own discretion. I cannot and will not be held responsible if your jelly beans become rotten and your tablet decides implode. I will try to help you to the best of my ability, but beyond that, you stand alone behind enemy lines!! Have fun!!
Instructions:
1. Full wipe/factory reset is a must if you are flashing this over any other ROM
2. Wipe cache/dalvik cache between builds
3. Flash using CWM or TWRP

Damn Craig your on beast mode!! 2 Roms already!!!
I like!
Working great over here so far. Couldn't get swipe installed though.
Prefer the aosp+ right pull down menu options.
Thanks for the ROM

Tried it out, so far so good!
The only major bug I found is in the launcher settings, I can't lower the number of home screens from the 12(!) as default, nor can I change the screen it starts out with
Keep up the good work

Same here. And very responsive build, very smooth. Make some tests with cpumaster : 1.9ghz rock stable (I was especting a bit more...).
Thanks for your work !
Running great!

Most of my games won't start for some reason (Fieldrunners, Myth Defense, Angry Birds, My Little Pony [don't judge me!]), but otherwise seems smooth. I could probably do a logcat to see what's happening, but this being the first build I would expect things like this. Great work!

I have issues with this kernel running Shadowgun Dead zone, perhaps try a stock kernel.

I think it was Angry Birds Space, to be specific, but I'm going to try a reflash. It could easily have been something I did wrong.

Works fine for me!
EDIT: I've tried Angry Birds Space & Shadowgun Dead Zone... both play fine... even at 2GHz OC...
I'm having issues with not being able to install Chrome and adaway
It must have been a bad flash wiped everything again and reinstalled and running perfectly!

chrome installed fine for me? Do you need to use setcpu to OC or is it set to something outta the box? Running good so far on latest... just got done installing

It is set stock out of the box, as the first post says, you need SetCpu or the like to OC ...

i think Gio's performance is not enough to play games……
Chinese are improving themselves!
Not for the better games like temple run and boss 2, its abit too laggy for those games.
But for hill climb racing its just perfect, though. ;D

use CM7.2 based ROM (currently im using LG themed music edition ROM), they're quite fast for gaming, i can even play agent dash with minimal lag
the other ROM i suggest is AOKP milestone 6 CM9 based. it can run as fast as the previous ROM but needs heavy tweaking (IMHO) but it still buggy (no native wifi tether, no native camcorder)
For me, this two roms are the most good for games. For the test, i've played temple run 2 and i haven't lag on this roms:
[DEV] CyanogenMod 7 | MoltenMotherBoard
ROM][PORT]SGSII JB ROM - Version 10
Tip: Install Chainfire 3D for better playing. Work on SGSII JB ROM, i 've not tried to cyanogen.
But: The game is more smooth on Cyanogen, only this Cyanogen.

Im on all stock 4.3 Playing some games causes lag noticeably fruit ninja which lags when there is too much going on and sometimes randomly also there is a strange audio bug where it sounds like the quality of the audio has dropped and sound is laggy sounding. The sound issue happens in fruit ninja only, I am confused i have around 300mb ram free, apps such as tango and viber cannot be closed and reopen by themselves even if ended.

The Galaxy Nexus has the same gpu as the Nexus s so its pretty bad at gaming. You could try to download a kernel and raise the gpu clock. If you want more ram then a kernel is also for you. Search for kernels with asram. For extreme ram try mpokang kernel. I suggest to use askp but thats just my opinion..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Premium HD app
Custom kernels have option to overclock GPU, default is 300MHz. I'm on 512MHz which is noticeable better on Ingress game.
Also mentioned CPU overclock will help.

try franco or fancy(extended) or golden kernel with golden governer and scheduler,, these are the best in performance , u can oc the gpu aswell
I personally find fancy kernel the best in overall smoothness.
Franco always lag when I try to wake the phone, best battery life however.
Golden is some what similar to fancy, but only if you use bfq/interactive, golden governor however, lag once in a while, you would see lag spike fairly often.
Note that experience may vary, above was just how the kernels work with my phone.
Guys does the new updated REAL RACING 3 V2.1.0 works without lags on high setting because on my N7 running CM11 and M kernel is lagging very much. What rom and kernel do you suggest for this???
Any help would be appreciated!!!
Thanks!!!

Oxydo kernel is really great in handling games with smartassv2 governor and overclocking to 1.6ghz. As for the rom well paranoid is really great for gaming also (the sabermod one) but CM11 should do as well.
You could also try a RAM cleaner/Boosting app from Google play
