Has anyone else with the wifi only note n5110 in the us had issues updating their note 8 to 4.2? The update launched 2 days ago, and so far ota gives either the use Kies message or the order which update requested error.
Then when using the most updated Kies, every time I go to update Kies gives a an error that says device needs at least 100 mb of storage. If you have several apps stored on sd then device may fail during update.
I have over 3 gb left of on note 8, so there's plenty of room, and even with sd card removed it still will not do the update.
Does anyone else have suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else? If so, any ideas on how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated greatly, as my last resort is a hard reset but I'm avoiding that for the fact it may not make any difference.
Ps this is newest Kies update running on mac osx 10.8.3 and successfully updated my note 10 last night on same computer and Kies version.
Thanks mega

Hello all,
I just flashed to Agent47's v5.4 Firestorm LEO WM6.5.3 version last night and every time I configure my exchange account I get an update message saying that my device has been updated and I need to restart my device. After I restart my device my memory card is no longer recognized. I've tried reflashing then a hard reset after a reflash but it seems to come back once that update gets applied and it only seems to apply when I connect add my email account. Has anybody else experienced this issue? What does that update do and what is it for? I've never seen an auto update message before asking me to restart my device. Thanks in advance.
BTW, one of my coworkers experienced the same message/issue and he is on a different ROM so maybe others have experienced this as well. Maybe an issue with Exchange not sure. Any thoughts?
Hi guys

After browsing the internet all day yesterday I never did see an actual fix for this issue for this specific model. I did see a lot of random ones for different carriers which would probably work. But not for Sprint specifically.
Problem? My Sprint Galaxy Tab 3 7" failed at 27% whenever I attempted to update it.
Issue: The Tab was Rooted by my brother - who then Un-Rooted and returned it back to Factory before giving it to me. Then failed to mention he had rooted the thing to begin with.
Fix: Re-Flash using Odin and stock 4.2 image.
So I tried getting Kies installed and working. Tab would NEVER connect no matter what I did. I tried installing the USB drivers again (though the computer recognized the damn thing), reinstalling Kies, trying to put Kies into Compatibility mode (since I'm on Windows 8.1)
After ALL that I finally called my brother who gave it to me as a gift. Found out the thing may or may not have been Rooted. But he thought he had reverted it back to stock and un-rooted it.
So back to searching on the internet. Finally found this article: http://theunlockr.com/2014/03/21/unroot-samsung-galaxy-tab-3-7-0-sprint/ which suggested I try re-flashing using Odin to get rid of Root on the device.
I followed the steps in the article (Tip: Do a search on Google for the correct image zip for your model tablet and download it from androidhostfiles) Example for my specific model T217SVPUANB8: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407579787
Was able to restore it back to "true stock" and was able to update to KitKat. Kies started working finally. And all was well with the world again.
Oh, and I uninstalled Kies immediately after I was done with that POS software. :silly:
Hopefully this will help the I dunno the two other people that still have one of these that they received for free from Sprint.
I have a SM-T707A (AT&T Galaxy Tab S 8.4) with Android 5.0.2 currently. A few days ago I got notice of an update >1G in size. I proceed with the update but when the device reboots and the AT&T world logo appears saying it is updating, it immediately fails and just says "Update failed". Then reboots into 5.0.2. Anybody experiencing this? Any clue how to troubleshoot? I have 3.2G free memory on the device.
Thanks
So about a few years ago, I tried to root my galaxy note 4 (n910aucu2doi3), but I guess it rejected the root because it instantly bricked my phone, to the point where I had to completely wipe it using android recovery. The only way to get my operating system back was to download it online and install it through my PC (I had to find the exact version for my phone as well, 5.1.1 at the time, because it rejected every single other version).
Everything seemed to be working fine, except that I couldn't install software updates on my phone anymore. It was permanently stuck on 5.1.1. It was a bit of an annoyance but I didn't think much of it at the time.
Fast forward to now, and I'm getting several signs that my OS may be corrupted. My phone is constantly freezing, crashing and restarting. Maneuvering through applications causes the phone to freeze for a few seconds before either restarting or crashing the app. I want to say it's definitely a software issue, but I did install a new battery recently and it was working fine for a few weeks, could that be the issue?
If not, I want to start over, but I'm not sure how, and I don't know if it's safe to do a factory reset on this OS. Is there anyway I can get a fresh stock version of an android OS that can also update?
Any help is appreciated, I'm pretty much desperate.
I manually updated to 6.0.1 with the help of this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-att/general/updates-thread-t3663943
It seems to have fixed the issues so far, and my phone can automatically update again
