Benz-OliverG96 CM10.1 Kernel
This Kernel is based on the latest Oliver's sources with added Hotplug, Abyssplug, Wheatley and PegasusQ governors, and added VR, ROW, SIO, and BFQ I/O Schedulers
The Kernel should work on CM10.1 releases from OliverG96
Tested on my S3 Mini GT-I8190 and Kernel's working fine.
Changelog:
2013-10-03 added I/O schedulers VR, ROW, SIO, BFQ
2013-10-03 added governors Hotplug, Abyssplug, Wheatley and PegasusQ
2013-10-03 compiled with GCC Linaro 4.7.4
2013-10-03 added exFAT support
2013-10-03 added BLN support
2013-10-09 fixed BLN
2013-10-09 added NTFS filesystem support
2013-10-09 added LZMA kernel compression method (13% faster overall system performance)
2013-10-09 enabled kernel size optimization (additional 5% faster overall system performance)
2013-10-09 build vfp with neon+hardware-float instead of software-float
Compatibility:
Olivers's CM10.1
I always recommend latest build.
GT-I8190 CM10.1 Linaro Kernel
A refrence to help you decide the best settings for your phone.
Issues
None.
Great work as always, keep up bud:good:
Thanks.
Would anyone be interested in testing modified Maclaw's kernel on Oliver's CM-10.1?
New test build available.
Hi Benzonat0r, you can modify the stock kernel for BLN, neldar kernel drains the battery more. Thanks

Do you plan to continue your kernel develelopment for oliverg96`s ROM?

Problem bug cpu 1ghz!
Hello I just installed this kernel
Thank already Benz for his work but I have a problem.
my cpu in hotplug and other remains at 1ghz. Only pegasusq works well ...
What can be the problem?

I had the same effekt (stuck CPU frequency) which was resolved by switching off WLAN and rebooting, then switching on again. I do have this effect probably once every 10 reboots or so, be it on Maclaws ROM, be it Olivers

It needs a lot of patches for various of things to even work.
So its not easy as with maclaw kernel?

Nibbles Kernel Is Here!
Thanks to Krazeecracker for letting me take over!
Thanks to Android88 for helping me test my builds into the wee hours of the night
THIS WILL WIPE CURRENT INIT.D SCRIPTS. MAKE SURE YOU BACK THEM UP!
I did not create this Kernel, I just maintain and add features to it. Give total credit to CVD as this is his creation and body of work. He made this possible. ALSO BIG SHOUTS OUT TO THOMAS.RAINES FOR THE BASE KERNEL LZ KERNEL
Features: The Nibbles kernel includes a LOT of new features that cater to all users who want to get the most out of their device. I've included many popular CPU Governors and I/O schedulers to support a wide variety of uses. Additionally, I've made lots of other fundamental changes to the kernel to better balance battery and performance (well beyond what you can do with a handful of scripts) as well as implementing over clocking the CPU to 1.782GHz, Under/Over Volting the CPU at each frequency step and over clocking the GPU.
CPU Governors: intellidemand, pegasusq, gallimaurfy, interactivex, smartassv2, wheatley, interactive, conservative, userspace, ondemand, performance
I/O Schedulers: noop, deadline, cfq, sio, vr, bfq

The WIFI not Working, a test FIX WIFI for L5 but the installation is aborted.
Wi-Fi not working for me.
Also, the screen seems to be ''wiggling around''. Not sure how to say it correctly, but the screen has a little grain over the image. It shows up, then disappears. What app do I use for OC?

For those who have stuck with the Incredible 2 through thick and thin, we finally have an ICS kernel for Sense. Here is my personal build for everyone to use as they so desire. This is built from the Chinese source.
This kernel includes: Overclocking, Governers, IO Schedulers, Forced Fast Charge, Dynamic Fsync, BFS & CFS versions, tiny RCU, and more to come...
Difference between this kernel and bsmitty83's:
BrYCS - built with arm-eabi 4.4.3 toolchain
KaPoW - built with gcc linaro toolchain, and patched up to 3.0.xx (and more frequent updates - the guy is a machine)
RIOT ACT: ...blah blah blah...flash at your own risk...if you brick your phone...you're a dumba$$...I am not responsible.

i'd like to thank our good friends over in china for releasing the kernel source for the s710d
I can confirm that the kernel works on the ICtazz rom
Tried this kernel on the 7.01.605.01 Verizon Sense Vivow Ics rom...
Everything works! Quickly ...
brymaster5000 - you're super!
Nice Job! This should improve the viper rom's stability no? I'm also assuming you will be adding OC's and governors?

You got it. I wanted the kernel to be out first before I started messing with it. But yes, my next step (hopefully later today) is to add oc and governers.
Sent from my Viperdinc.
Gonna try it on Psychos 9.1

I just downloaded it, will flash later.
I'm a bit confused, I thought this was for ICS sense roms. Exactly what will this kernel work with? Sense only? ICS only? AOSP only?
So this is to be only flashed on sense based roms?

Yes. It comes from the Chinese ics stock sense.

Won't flash with Psychos 9.1.
It's probably my mistake though.

Awesome, let us know how viper works. Viper is one of my favorite roms but I quit using it because of lag, im hoping this kernel takes care of that. I would test if I could right now but need my phone for work right now.

I used Viper for the configuration file - and am running it now. Works great. Not sure about the Psycho 9.1 ROM...can't say I even knew about it until now.
On your custom kernel bry you should enable fastcharge
and maybe UV
Viper is running killer diller!
Camera is especially sweet!
Still need to try Bluetooth.

Added some governers...and getting some build errors. Will try again later.
I will look into fast charge.
Can one possibly love the devs of this phone too much?
im trying to port MIUIv5 using ROM Porter with chilli's cm10 as base and the IncS miuiv5 as port
apparently my phone does not like to go past the loadscreen when the rom is signed, but when unsigned it boots just fine after one forced reboot (does it by itself first boot)
at first it was giving me endless com.process.phone and com.process.acore errors
now its just sitting there in the boot screen again.
Any advice guys?
Screenlock won't let me enter a numeric pin, the keyboard is absent.
Password works though.

ZOHAN makes your hair...emmm Kernel silky smooth .
Well, since it became popular to add something like " for better battery life" I´m renaming my Kernel into Silky Smooth now
There are 2 versions now. First one is the pure kernel and the secound one with Turbo Boost included. (Credits are going to delta-roh)
Orginal thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37905307
SGW discussion thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2400120
Created with stability and battery life in mind. Each modification was tested separately, so everytime I added a tweak or a new feature, I tested the new kernel for a couple of days before adding the next one.
So what it has included:
- UV and OC options
- lowered WiFi voltage
- lowered LCD voltage
- slightly lowered standby / deepsleep voltage
- Battery life eXtender
- Fixed 100% battery notification after charger unplug
- 377MB RAM
- ROW scheduler as default scheduler
- Lulzactive Governor as default governor
- tweaked Lulzactive for battery life and smoothness
- added new frequency - 518MHz
- added new frequency - 633MHz
- added new frequency - 902MHz
- Screen Off frequency set to 518 MHz max. in Lulcactive Governor
- Dynamic Read-Ahead
- Dynamic Dirty Page Writeback
- CK3 tweaks (Credits to Con Kolivas) - adapted by Christopher, hurtsky and me
- LowMemoryKiller management of not killable processes - credits to christopher
- with and without Turbo Boost Mod
- no other compilation tweaks just to make the list longer
The max. Screen Off frequency is the maximum frequency your device can clock to while the screen is turned off. It´s a kind of limitation to lower the consumption.
other suggestions:
- enable KSM
- enable 16bit transparency
- greenify your apps
If you follow these suggestions, your ROM should run absolutely smooth without the need for other tweaks.
To use Battery Life eXtender:
Use RootExplorer and go to: '/sys/class/misc/batterylifeextender'. Change the value in 'charging_limit' for example to 90 (default 100). This will set a limit for the capacity to which the battery will be charged. So in this example the battery will be charged to 90%.
----------------------------------------------------
After flashing the kernel whipe your cache and dalvik cache and fix permissions.
Credits are going to:

- educk (for helping me doing the first steps)
- Christopher83 (for his great commits and tweaks)
- ivendor (for his tweaks)
- Ezekeel (for Battery Life eXtender)
- hurtsky (for exchanging experiences)
- and all the other I forgot to mention
-------------------------------- 03.09.2013 ----------------------------------

This kernel is a port of the CM9 honeyx 7up kernel. It´s build with Arcos 3.0.83 sources for CM10. There are two versions aviable. The minimalistic and one with all the tweaks listed below. The minimalistic is more close to Arcos kernel. It includes OC/UV options, all the tweaks for battery life, 374MB RAM, the new 518MHz frequency, BLX and Lulzactive governor as default governor with 518MHz screen off frequency. The other one has all the other tweaks included.
Created with stability and battery life in mind. Each modification was tested separately, so everytime I added a tweak or a new feature, I tested the new kernel for a couple of days before adding the next one. This is not the case with this kernel, but these tweaks were already tested in the CM9 kernel.
You will notice my kernels do not offer as much tweaks like other kernels because these are cherry picked to not to affect battery life and stability.
So what it has included:
- added Governors
- UV and OC options
- lowered WiFi voltage
- lowered LCD voltage
- slightly lowered standby / deepsleep voltage
- Battery life eXtender
- Fixed 100% battery notification after charger unplug
- 378MB RAM
- ROW scheduler as default scheduler
- Lulzactive Governor as default governor
- tweaked Lulzactive for battery life and smoothness
- added new frequency - 518MHz
- Screen Off frequency set to 518 MHz max. in Lulcactive Governor
- Dynamic Read-Ahead
- Dynamic Dirty Page Writeback
- Incrased Audio Volume
- new Low Memory Killer for better memory management
- no other compilation tweaks just to make the list longer
I didn´t test this kernel as I´m still using CM9, but made sure the tweaks are ported correctly to this kernel.
The max. Screen Off frequency is the maximum frequency your device can clock to while the screen is turned off. It´s a kind of limitation to lower the consumption.
other suggestions:
- enable KSM
- enable 16bit Dithering
- disable CPU rendering
- greenify your apps
If you follow these suggestions, your ROM should run absolutely smooth without the need for other tweaks.
To use Battery Life eXtender:
Use RootExplorer and go to: '/sys/class/misc/batterylifeextender'. Change the value in 'charging_limit' for example to 90 (default 100). This will set a limit for the capacity to which the battery will be charged. So in this example the battery will be charged to 90%.

Good Idea. Madridis kernel has also a modified Ramdisk included if I remember correctly, so this could be the reason.
See first if it works with Arcos stock Kernel and then you can try the minimalistic first.

Well, I flashed CM10 yesterday to check this. Made a pristine installation by whiping and formating everything and used the phone for a while with Arcos stock kernel. Unfortunally the rom didn´t work as good for me as expected. Sometimes the camera stopped working after the phone lasted for a while in deepsleep, so I had to reboot the phone to get it working again. I´ve spend some time outdoors and made some pics of my wife, but when watching the pics in the gallery some of them were displayed to be black. However in the the file explorer they were displayed correctly, but not in the gallery. When I scrolled further the gallery often also simply closed for no reason. Even whiped the thumbnails and all the data for gallery and mediaserver, but this didn´t help either.
I´m not telling you this to tell you this rom is buggy because I know my device is very anal about roms and kernels, just to show you why one and the same thing might work for one but not for the other. I´m pretty sure CM10 is working perfectly for many others but this seems not to be the case with my device.
So well after comming back home I flashed my custom kernel to it and all went well. Just after testing this I decided to revert back to CM9 for the obvious reasons.
Don´t know why, but my phone obviously loves CM9 so I will stick with it.
But the point is. As long CM10 is working well with Arcos stock Kernel for you, there should be also no problems by flashing my kernel over it.
