Alrighty, time to get this party started. I will make these flashable once we figure out the system partition. For right now just extract and replace
These are flashable through TWRP for sure, as for CWM haven't tried it yet but I assume it will work.

Looks great....except we need root.
Well turns out these can't be used on this phone just yet.. samsung completely got rid of any reference of a bootanimation file relating to zips, they are all qmgs so until someone makes a kernel that supports custom boot ani's these can't be used
added stock nexus boot ani
updated.

Problem is our (Verizon) variant of the Note 3 will have a locked bootloader, so we'll have no custom recovery to flash your boot animations .... I think in due time we'll see Root access, but an unlocked boatloader will be more time consuming/difficult to achieve.

looks like I won't be making any boot animations for a while.. maybe will but I can't test any time soon... turns out my device "maybe" had that stupid efuse blow and now I can't get root anymore.... so.. ya
Oh man getting those videogame bootscreens would be sexy as hell.
Just downloaded the bios... always liked that one... brings back memories of the old OG Motorola Droid days...
If you wanted to convert your boot ani's to .qmg's - we could use them. I found a link here
Please and thank you.

tried it and couldnt get it to work, and what do u mean by u could use them? THey work fine being bootanimation.zip files, u just need to copy over the bootanimation file into system/bin and overwrite the one thats there and the zips will work fine (or just flash this aroma)
updated OP with 5 more boots

Hi everyone, I got some inspiration earlier today when I was thinking about oldskool Windows OS boot up sequence and decided to make a bootanimation zip for myself.
So what I did is I found a BIOS boot animation created by animelover (massive thanks to him) and merged it with a stock ICS boot screen. Reminded me of my old Windows 98 boot process where you get the initial BIOS start after which is goes to Windows splash screen. Except here it goes to ICS boot screen.
Looks amazing I think and still has that old hard disk starting sound at the beginning as well. Ahh, the nostalgia...
I might still make some minor changes later, but for now I can't stop restarting my phone. Love it too much, so I decided to share it with you guys.
The file is attached below. If you want to use it in your ROM or theme that's fine, just let me know first. The one thing I ask is that you give credits to me for splicing these two together and of course animelover for creating the original SGS2 BIOS bootanimation.
Thanks and enjoy!
-----
Installation:
1. I recommend wiping cache and dalvik cache but it isn't necessary.
2. Download the ZIP from the attachments section below and flash it via CWM Recovery.
Screenshots:
Included in the attachments below.

I did this for fun and I'm not expecting anything in return. If you feel you like the animation, clicking thanks below is always appreciated.

Hehe, I've just tried it. A combination of my 2 favorite bootanimations, really nice!
now every ROM should just have this integrated!
Cool mate
Thanks guys! I'm glad you like it. Anyone can include it in their rom or theme.
I might raise the fps a bit though, what do you guys think?

Hmm... well I tried to explain to the best of my abilities what it's like in 1st post. You can always backup your existing system/media/bootanimation.zip by renaming it to bootanimation.zip.bak. You can do this with root explorer or super manager.
Then flash this one to try it, if you don't like it then just go back to your old bootanimation.zip.
I will try to update the first post with some screenshots later tonight anyways.

Did you wipe cache and dalvik before flashing?
Maybe it's just the animation looping.....

That's OK!
Flashed a new rom, then flashed again the bootanimation (that i downloaded one more time), and everything works fine!
Thanx a lot for the great work and for helping me!!!
Regards,
This is the waving Droid boot animation for the galaxy nexus. It is basically A droid boot animation with a droid robot waving at you each time you start the phone . You must be rooted, and adb push it to system/media, or use Root explorer. I don't own a Galaxy Nexus, but here is the reason I made the boot animation: I do owe many thanks to the Anderson GN ROM team from here. http://rootzwiki.com/topic/12172-121911-for-403rom-anderson-ics-currently-v0531/. The Boot Animation is included in their ROM already if you are interested.
Here are the features:
Smooth (Trust me, extreme smoothness in unnecessary in a waving droid)
Tested, but might not be perfect since I do not own a GN
Containing original Ice Cream Sadwich Colors, eg. the dark, dark grey you find in settings.
(All the usual stuff, this is at your own risk)
Test it and let me know how it goes!
Download link is a czech website, due to all these Megaupload issues. Just go with the big Yellow button and enter captcha. I will update to a more 'appropriate' download site later.

Then don't install it! You are shockingly rude! Make a boot animation for a device you do not own and you are unable to test. Send it to me and I will tell you it is shockingly bad. The only thing shockingly bad about this is YOU.
This is just a bootanimation I made for myself, but then I thought others might like it. Also thought it was about time I make my first post
I tried to replicate the boot screen at the start of Sonic the Hedgehog. I've attached the bootanimation.zip and the PSD in case you want to make your own changes to it, as it is far from perfect.
Looks good for a first try. Too bad Samsung and Google haven't seen fit to let us know about enabling boot sounds, because this is crying out for someone saying "ANDROID" in the same style as they did on the Genesis boot.

Sorry for the thread from the dead, but I've got some pertinent information...
I'm running BAMF, and it supports boot sounds. I've only come across one person even attempting to take advantage of this, however. If you read forward in that thread, you can see that I flashed his Xbox boot animation CWM script and verified that it did indeed have sound. The technology is out there, now we just have to take hold and put it to good use...
I am new to Samsung phones. Two week agao, I got the S2 T989 with broken screen very cheap, so I decided to replace the screen and learn about. This week I got the screen and fix it. It doea works great and I love it, but I have a problem with. I had previously 2 HTC phones - MT4G and MT4G slide. I was able to get the S=off and had full control of my phone. I put my own splash logo and bootanimation. I flashed many roms and never brick them. Now I have a dilemma as I can not flash my own splash logo as it is part of boot system. I am average "joe" not any software developer. Can I replace the bootloader or flash my own logo - as I did on HTC?. Sorry for the rant, but I was under impression that I own the phone and can do whatever I want to with.
Splash logos are hard to change on samsung phones. Bootanimation is easy but splash is usually embedded in the framework of rom or phone itself.

Splash logos are the hardest to change. I used to put my business logo on my old HTC phones. I was strictly htc for a while. I leaped to galaxy and love it. They have an app in the playstore I heard of that might be able to help. I never tried it myself. BUt if you want to give it a try it's called SGS2 BootScreen Changer and its compatible with the T989 because it came up when i searched it.

I was listening to the dead when I found this. Awesome. However I was also partaking in a popular deadhead hobby, so is this a boot animation? I made a dancing bear battery for my wife's vivid awhile back. If I still have it ill get it flashable for us and post a link if you want to try it.

This is just a bootsplash, however, I had started to work on one using screen caps from the Grateful Dead Movie, but I never really got it finished up. I originally developed this splash and the animation for my old HTC Inspire 4G, so I'll need to do some resizing/reworking to make it compatible with the SGS3.
Previously, I was using a tool called Boot Animation Factory (see this post) which made the process super simple, but I'll have to do some research into the process for SGS3.
I'd love to see what you've got. Get it flashable and I'll give it a spin!
Ill get that converted over and post it probably tomorrow.
Edit: Bad things. My wifes sd card is 99% dead. The bad kind. Know any tricks for recovering data? While you're thinking, I've heard just about all of them done 50 different ways, but this is my all time favorite.(I'm not starting an off topic here, just what Jerry would have wanted me to do. Share!) Sorry for mp3. Lost the original show.
