You need Kies 3 and Smartswitch.
http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP#versionInfo
Before the migration, you have to use old (2.x) Kies to backup data and unplug your old phone after that, and quit old Kies.
Now plug in your Note 3 and run Kies 3 and use data transfer in tools menu.
Smartswitch will start and Kies will close.
You have to transfer data from other Samsung phone, and locate the backup data from your old Samsung phone (usually in \My Documents\Samsung\Kies\(your phone model).
Start data transfer.
I much prefer a selective restore using the SD card and titanium backup. Forces me to do a little house cleaning rather than transfer a bunch of junk. Fwiw.

I used paid and it works like a charm twice
Nandroid manager will restore your texts and call log and wifi and blue tooth pairings as well as apps. Just nandroid on old phone to external card and put the card in New phone and there you go
Easy method is http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/. I used it on my wifes phone and it did a backup of sms, pictures, media, etc and restored them on her new phone.

Kies would not see my note 2. Kies 3 saw my note 3 with no issue.
TWEAKED 2.5
restore data from note2 to note3
I used Kies to backup all data from Note 2 to my PC.
Then tried to use SmartSwitch on the PC to restore the date to my Note 3 by directing it to the proper directory on my PC.
However when pressing the transfer button the message says the files must be version 2.5.3 or above?
Any advice please, this is rather frustrating that Samsung can make good phone on hardware and software but NOT on the Utility Manager, unbelievable, this is where they are lacking caompared to Apple I suppose.

I have titanium backup and I know that does, I just don't know if it restores to a different device correctly
Search for sms backup+
Backups to gmail account just like email.
But then again you are on cm10. That might make a difference.

It will work. Titanium backup. But besure to restore asap. It will disorient the order or wipe the newer stuff. I brought my stuff from my samsung infuse. The note 2 and s3 are damn near the same phone software wise. Especially if you go aosp to aosp.
You can cloud the titanium backup via dropbox. But its a bit weird. Id just save it to the sdcard and swap.

If there's any app that'll do the job quick & easily it'll be Titanium Backup. Backup app+data from the old and restore on the new.

Doesn't one of the new google services transfer over saved game data also.

Copy the respective data folders from your old nexus' sd card, and paste them in the right place on the new nexus.
If there are any additional folders, google them, and find them in your old nexus and paste them here too. I did it in Raging Thunder game I used to play on my old Desire, and even Smash Cops Heat, though I don't play them anymore, they worked back then with all data intact..
Easy peasy
open titanium backup> backup those games> plug your nexus 7 to the PC, and get the folder in sdcard/titaniumbackup, then plug your new nexus 7 and transfer the folder to it.
now open titanium backup in your nexus 2013 and restore the games.
First thing we need to know is if you are rooted or not. Titanium and many other backup apps only work if you are rooted.

Titanium is a real arse in my case. Hugely messy, and doesn't seem to wok in my case. i've tried it on two devices, my old desire and new nexus, but it seems to like being stuck. Often used to cause bootloops on my old Desire, and now doesn't work on my new nexus, so I've ditched it, and I'm using other methods for that.

If you have helium on both devices, you can sync the data of any app between the two. Works great.
I want to start fresh after the kk update. I have a profile for me and my son. I looked into helium but it has iffy results judging by feedback I read. Are there any other options? I would like to avoid root for now but since I bought square trade warranty I suppose it's not a huge deal.
I back all my stuff using KIES. Backs up my apps, snotes, system settings, etc.

helium is working fine for me but you have to connect your device to a PC and runa script to be able to save or restore anything.
price for non rooted devices and probably the reason for low feadback.
I also use it to transfer apps from my phone to tablet.
Any one tried mybackup from the playstore?

I've had varying success with Helium. When I do a system reset and try to restore from Helium about 80% of the apps will restore with data and the rest just fails. There's no explanation of reasoning behind which ones fail. And, when restoring all of the apps the process stops when a restore fails. I have to then start restoring after the failed app.
If you are relying on getting that data back don't count on Helium.
So apart from all the great guy stuff do search on Google for full backup android using adb. No rooting needed.
I would give you the link but I am on my phone today...

I heard about that issue a lot. So what I did was a device to device transfer:
1. Install and run Helium on rooted Note 1.
2. Install and run Helium on Note 4.
3. Connect Note 4 to the computer to activate the to backup/restore feature.
4. On the Note 4, select the Note 1 device under Helium's Restore/Sync tab.
5. Select and restore the apps and data.
No need to make any backup on Note 1.

Same problem trying to use HTC's Transfer App. Also, the HTC Sync Manager does not recognize the phone when connected to my desktop.
Spent a long time on the phone with an HTC CSR yesterday before I got cut off, but no success.
---------- Post added at 09:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:26 AM ----------
Just got off the phone with another HTC CSR on these two issues: 1.) HTC Transfer App doesn't work and 2.) HTC Sync Manager software doesn't recognize the 10.
He had no clue and said he would escalate the problems. He said I should hear back in 24-48 hrs.
The HTC Sync Manager doesn't handle apps anyway. I didn't have a problem syncing contacts, messages, etc. It's the apps that are giving my trouble.

Nope. I'm holding off on root at least until I get the camera update via OTA.
If you ever used HTC Backup/Restore AND if you have a backup from not too long ago, you can use that to accellerate the start-up process. I restored an M9 backup from February on my new 10 and it did make for faster setup.
Have you ever used adb backup/restore?
