[Q] MMS over WiFi Calling = Insufficient Prepaid Balance? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

I've recently been having an issue with the WiFi Calling feature when attempting to send/receive MMS. I figured out that it is not ROM related. It is T-Mobile related. Has anybody else had issues sending MMS over their WiFi Calling as of late?
I receive an automated text from T-Mobile instantly after the MMS sends. It says "Your MMS message to 1********** could not be delivered. Insuffcient Prepaid balance."
I've not once had this problem before on the $30 Unlimited Text/Data with 100 Minutes plan. MMS sends fine over 4G but not WiFi Calling. It has only started recently. If anybody can shed some light regarding this issue, and maybe test it out themselves that would be appreciated. Thanks.

Haven't seen that one and I was sending MMS over wifi last night at home. Did this just start for you or has it always been that way? The one thing I've seen is I'm unable to send SMS to short numbers. Get some weird message about it's not enabled which is odd since I have unlimited everything. I'll dig more for both of these and let you know what I find.

Thanks for replying. But actually, I just tried attempting it again right now and it's working.
Must have been a temporary issue on T-Mobile's side. Kind of a weird one actually. I appreciate you replying :highfive:. I hope you find a solution to your problem.

I was having problems also. I ported my number from ATT and SMS reception/sending was spotty at best for the first 2.5 days or so (the sprint rep I called about this quoted 72 hours as the magic number)
Did you port your number from a different carrier?
yes I ported from AT&T also...but I am getting text from other people...just not Qik. I even tried verifying from my PC...still nothing.
I have not been able to get the SMS from Qik either...I just don't think they are sending it.

can you check the settings in your default messaging app... go to connections for mms and see if the two fields in the middle have [not set] listed or if they actually have entries. Mine say they aren't set.

Did you port as well? If you did go into system updates and update your PRL. I had my number ported and had this issue up until I did a PRL update.

strange mms issue.

so ever since i started flashingn different roms ive had a strange mms issue. when i try to send an mms, the recipient receives a blank text. except for my mother.
at first i thought it was carrier related, ive got tmobile, shes got us cellular (basic messaging phone), but my girlfriend who also has uscc, doesnt get them. so i thought, maybe a smartphone on uscc will get it, nope. then i tried sending to phones on vzw, sprint, and att. all get blank texts.
i have not tried sending any over wifi. currently on cm6.1.1, kernel version 12.28b.60.14eU_26.03.02.26_M
anyone have any ideas on how to fix?

T989 SMS/MMS stuck at "Sending..." Can receive, but not send on Wifi-Calling.

T989 SMS/MMS stuck at "Sending..." Can receive, but not send on Wifi-Calling.
At home, wifi calling works perfectly. SMS/MMS, calling, web. Everything.
But at work, (unknown router to me), wifi calling works, web works, but sms/mms gets hung up on "Sending..." however I am able to receive texts via wifi calling. Just can't send. I have to disable wifi calling while at work, then my sms/mms goes through just fine.
Anybody know why this may be? This seems to be router-dependent... or is it a bug/glitch in T-Mobile's wifi calling software?
Additional info: I did the 2.3.6 update over my existing stock rooted T-Mobile OS. I kept all my settings, apps, etc, but just updated and also was unrooted, apparently.
This seems to be a pretty common issue with the update. Myself and others have discussed it in another thread here. Its really hit or miss. Sometimes i can send and receive mms at home, sometimes i cant. At work it never does.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
Thanks. I hope T-Mobile fixes this. What thread is this discussion in?? I looked

Can't send mms with wifi on, but everything else data related is fine

So I have HTC One M8 HK edition, running the most recent viper one OS, I have straight talk service with correct apn settings, and everything is working great (except soundcloud app but that's their fault) data-wise except for mms sending specifically when wifi is on. I can have wifi on and send plain text messages and make calls and all that, but i have to turn the wifi off to get mms to send or else it just says unable to send because unknown or something akin to that. It's a minor inconvenience that can be simply worked around by manually turning wifi off every time i send or receive mms, but I'd wager that there is also a pretty simple fix for this. Straight talk was no help at all, saying they didn't know why, and that's just how it works, I'd have to do that every time and there was no way to fix it. I simply can't believe that without some proof. Anyone know how to fix?
Are you using Hangouts? If so, try sending MMS via the stock Messages app instead.

MM Update: Group messaging & MMS doesn't work if wifi is connected

Hi folks,
I've got a new problem that started after I updated my D851 from (stock/rooted) Lollipop to (stock/rooted) Marshmallow.
When I'm home, I've got a decent LTE signal (ATT, though using the T-Mobile phone variant). But since I'm home, my phone connects to my wifi and uses it for data. I have no problem making/receiving calls or SMS texts to a single person at a time.
However, as long as I'm connected to WIFI (with my cellular signal present but not used for data due to the WIFI), neither MMS nor group texts work. In the stock Messages app, or the Messaging app I actually usually use, these MMS or group texts sit there as "sending..."
If I turn off the wifi, the cellular data signal is used immediately and the texts go through. Same goes for receiving MMS.
Again, this only happens since the marshmallow update that I applied a couple weeks ago.
I have not found a fix. I found lots of people complaining, and a few proposed solutions, like changing the APN so that the APN Protocol would be set to IPv4/IPv6 instead of the default IPv4. See here for that reference, though it didn't work for me:
https://support.t-mobile.com/thread/61843?tstart=0
Anybody have a fix for this? it's a real problem particularly for incoming messages. I can always toggle wifi off if I want to send something, but not knowing when something is coming in gets to be a problem. SMS from single conversations come through.
Please help me troubleshoot this. I've googled my fingers to the bone and while I've found reports of issues like this going back years, no actual solutions that work for me.
HELP!
There's one workaround so far... using Textra as the messaging app. It has an option called the T-Mobile Wifi Calling fix (in Settings/MMS/scroll down to bottom). Even though my wifi calling is set to off, since I'm on ATT, enabling this setting in Textra automatically toggles off WiFi to send MMS/group sms, and it does the same when it detects an attempted incoming MMS.
I much prefer the Google Messages app, for a variety of reasons, and I'm looking to figure out a real fix rather than this workaround. Any help most appreciated.
