Hi
I have a GTAB 3 8.0
I bought a hml vga adapter like this one :
http://i00.i.aliimg.com/img/pb/087/476/578/578476087_631.jpg
I tried to plug it but it doesn't work. I tried to install this kernel : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2455058
But the result is the same
So, my question is : did someone manage to make it work on GTAB 3
Thanks
Re: vga output
Hi,
check or post here the cable specs. tab 3 (10", but I suppose the 8" too) has a special 11 pin USB-MHL connector, which requires respective MHL cable or special 11pin to 5pin adapter (check ie. dx.com for about 4$)
Hi,
my cable is this one http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/266325967.html
i think it hax the good specs

Hi,
does anyone know an adapter to change the HDMI signal from my MHL-adapter to VGA?
I need it because of the data projectors at my university.
I have already tried with 2 adapters: HDMI-> DVI and DVI-> VGA
but it didn't work.
Thx for your help
Just wait for something like that : http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/bizlink-mhl-to-vga-tv-out-adapter-black-p29960.htm
Or buy this type of cable, that could be better than buying a new adapter :http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/soonitrade/VGA_HD-15_Male_Cable_(1).jpg

HDMI has no analogue component so it can't be passively converted to analogue (VGA.) Similarly, VGA-HDMI cables are designed for devices that can output HDMI-over-VGA, and won't work either. You need an active adapter for that.
Like this: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/hdmi-to-vga-video-converter-71816
HP makes a HDMI to VGA

I haven't tried this yet. Anyone know if this HP device works?
Well, I bought this using the 50% discount code that was floating around for weeks on this forum:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ETC-EIA2BEGSTA
I connected the HDMI cable to the TV and to the adapter, connected the OEM wall charger to the adapter and then the adapter to the Note 2. Nada. Nothing happened on my TV when I switched to the correct HDMI port (I have a Sony 3D TV so I thing it should support whatever that adapter requires).
I tried it without the 5 to 11 pin converter as I thought my phone uses an 5 pin USB (the tip looks like my charger).... Nothing. Then tried it with the adapter... Nothing...
On a previous tablet I had I had to enable "Display Out" in Settings. But I don't see any settings related to that under "Display" or "Accessories" on my phone.
Any ideers?
Ron
I suspect you have the wrong MHL adaptor.
The one you've linked to days it works with multiple smartphones, but as of the S3, Samsung changed the pin out of the MicroUSB port so existing MHL adaptors don't work with the S3 or the Note 2.
You need one that specifically says S3 or Note 2.

in this kit there is 5 to 11 pin adapter that is required for s3 and note 2, so this adapter should work (with adapter and charger connected)
find a friend with S3 or another note2 to test it...
Hi everyone, just wondering if anybody has found a usb to hdmi cable/adapter that works with the note 8. I want to be able to connect it to my tv to watch movies. I tried connecting my Samsung phone usb to my note and it isn't a good fit. Is the micro port on the note 8 different than a standard micro usb? Thanks for your help. Not sure if it matters, but I am in Canada.
I have tried 5 pin and it does not work so I think 11 pin (the one that work with note 2 / s3) will probably work.

The 11 pin version works. I own one.(the one for the galaxy s3)
A normal 5 pins otg cable also works. In case you wanted to buy that one also.
Best regards,
Niels

The Note 2 Galaxy S3 and after use a 11 pin adaptor. Those work with the Note 8 ( I have one). You can buy a 5 to 11 pin Micro usb adaptor on Amazon.
Today I found a new type adapter by Samsung in a store: White, rated 1080p 60 fps. It has the longer, 11 pins connector. I think it is a proprietary one, based on micro USB. The black HDTV adapter for the SIII uses the same connector. That one has no rating on the box, so I guess that one is only 720p. Both are recognised by my Note 8.0 (it beeps). But I haven't had the chance yet to test them on an actual TV set.
Now I need to know how can I connect to HDMI from Note 3 Neo (SM-N750)?
if there is no any option to connect HDMI, pls explain how to use TV out from this device.
Thank You...

To connect to HDMI
You need MHL adapter
Connect one end of the MHL adapter to the phone (micro usb end) and then connect one more end to the charger (as it needs power). The third end you need to connect Male HDMI cable to Male HDMI cable to the TV.
Please check the attachments for better understanding.
Here is the link to purchase the MHL adapter

It is sold on Ebay for 749/-.
Cheers!
