in search of symbiotes! - Galaxy S III Accessories

So working for Samsung technical support I come across a lot of cool accessories from my coworkers.
One accessory I found saw recently that I thought was really cool was a screen protector membrane my coworker had on his galaxy s blaze that mends itself of scratches after being exposed to body heat in your pocket.
I didn't believe him at first so I made him show me and sure enough by the end of the day the screen was free of scratches!
I've been trying to find these bad boys everywhere and I was just wondering if anyone knows the brand name or at least product name for these and if they are available for the galaxy s 3.
Thanks for the help in advance!

Rubbery feel to the screen ? may just be a zagg or similar.. but if not im interested also ..

Not really a rubbery feel. The screen kinda looks like gloss finish glass with a slight wave in it.
Kinda looks like hammered metal but you can see through it just fine when phone screen is on like any other good screen protector.
Pretty sure not zagg I already checked those out.
I want one so bad lol

After some further research it sounds a lot like these http://store.griffintechnology.com/totalguard-self-healing-screen-protector-iphone
But doesn't really resemble the one my coworker has more does it fix itself by body heat but it does seem to repair scratches.
As close as I've gotten so far :/

Anyone know a brand like Gizmobies for our phones?

My gf recently got one of those Gizmobies (http://www.gizmobies.com/) skin protectors for her phone and it seems pretty nice.
I was wondering if we have anything similar for our phones. I've seen some but they look just like stickers X_x.. these seem to have a little fluff to them which I think adds more protection than if I just got some sticker type thing :x
anyone know X_x ?
Well there's the invisibleshield by zagg, but that's a clear protector.

I've got an Invisible Shield, by Zagg, it's clear on the front and with a rocker skull printed on the back of the phone, put it on today, just have to let it be for a day or to and it's good to go. There are some nice backs there in Zagg, you might give it a try

mm the reason i took an interest in these gizmobies is because it's not just a flat skin but instead it has a little padding in between which adds some good protection to the device..
well hopefully one day we'll get something similar.
Thanks anyway
Anyone have experience on this ? http://www.uniqueskins.com/Products/Motorola/Custom+Motorola+Atrix+Gel+Skin
these actually look like the gizmobies I posted .. it's currently 50% off

Video Review: Otterbox Commuter Series Case For Galaxy S2!!!

Hey guys,
Super excited to bring you the full review of the Otterbox Commuter series case for the Galaxy S 2. This case met and exceeded my expectations, definitely recommended. It is super protective, clean and feels great in the hand. You can watch the full review below:
nice review mate (yet again) you are a good talker on camera do you do them off the cuff 1st time or is there much editing
about the case , i think i prefer the casemate tough . same sort of style case yet doesnt seem to have as much silicone exspsosed to attract dust and also seems to fit a bit tighter to the handset then the otterbox .
The top bit that wont lay flat would annoy me like it did you so thanks for pointing that out .
nice review mate keep them coming

Many thanks for the compliments. I usually make a mistake here and there but nothing major, if you look at some of my older videos you will see it's just a matter of keeping at it and practicing haha.
I've got a Tough for the HTC Sensation and I can relate to what you mean, the Tough seems to cover up more of the Silicone, however the only thing I'm not a big fan of is that the Tough leaves the bottom portion very flimsy.
Thanks again, more videos to come!
wow mate keep up the videos, love the content, thanks
I actually don't have the raised silicone at the top that you complained about. It may be because your phone is White and modded that its dimensions differ from the original galaxy s2

Someone commented stating that as well, it may be because I have an SGP Glas screen protector which adds some thickness.
I have the same issue, and it doesn't have a screen protector.
This case is perfect without the front silicon.

Thanks for letting me know that. I was starting to think it was my SGP Glas but now that you're experiencing it, perhaps some cases have their silicone a little more stretched than others.
FYI, some people were wondering if/when Otterbox would release their Defender series case; my contact said this:
Also, to the best of my knowledge, we will only be making a Commuter Series for the Galaxy S II, not a Defender Series as well. Sorry to disappoint. If that changes I will let you know.

Hi Ploone,
Awesome reviews you do here! Glad to see you like your Otterbox case as much as I do. One thing your review doesn't cover (it didn't really need to) is the included screen protector. Here is my short review of that:
The included protector appears to be there for the sake of being there. It isn't sticky, which is about the only pro I can think of. It is a fingerprint magnet. It's finish is one that not only do fingerprints look awful when the screen is off, but actually interfere with the colours of the screen when it is on, mostly when viewing lots of white. It is hard to tell if it is interfering with my touchscreen, I really do think that it has affected sensitivity just a bit, but that could be a placebo.
All in all, if you are cheap and anal (like me), you will find yourself using it because it was "free" with the case. I do want to look into getting an SGB Glas protector, but don't want to spend another $35 on that, and then get a 32gb class 10 microsd at another $70+ lol this phone is costing me too much money!!!
Or maybe I'll live with it as is

Hopefully Trident Cases makes one, they usually take their time to release a case (as they did with the Nexus S) but they are good quality and I've been pleased with their products.
Thanks for the nice review. IMHO the Case-Mate Box is probably better as the four corners of the SGS-2 are protected by the hardcase as well. The Otterbox seems to protected the corners only with the silicone parts.

White black duo-shield soft skin hard case

This is for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, not the GSM Variant.
I ordered this case from the suggestion of another person on twitter and it came in the mail today. I was especially intrigued by it because he said it fit the extended battery rather well!
It turns out that it does and seems to be one of the first I have found (besides the Otterbox Series) that fits the phone with the extended battery included.
It is made of high quality materials, and isnt a lint collector in my pocket which is a big one for me. Below are a link to the pictures of the phone w/ the extended battery and the case itself.

I have this case in white/purple and loved it, but was concerned about the back getting "scratched" since the plastic part doesn't have any felt or cushioning. What are your thoughts on this? Is there any reason to be concerned in your opinion?

The plastic seems to be fairly strong, for example, it seems the coating is of high quality which makes it not easily scratch able.
For the most part I am not worried about the case being scratched and I really like it.
I was worried about the back of the phone getting scratched by the plastic part that touches it. You have noticed no scratches on your phone from this case?

I misunderstood you from before, and no I do not think that the plastic will scratch the phone in any way
Thank you for your review and your opinion! That makes me feel a bit better about using that case as it is my favorite so far. I am still looking at the Kraken (when they make one), Rearth Rinke and SGP. I also have one of those cases that look like the ballistic ones. I like it though it does make it a bit bulkier.
Just ordered the White/Green one to go with my Beats . I'm a sucker for anything Lime Green, I have been going naked on the phone, hopefully I'll like this case. Biggest thing I was worried about what being a lint magnet, good thing it isnt

You will love it. Since my issue of scratches to my phone have been eliminated, it will be my case of choice until a couple of the others come out.
Do you guys no how this compares size wise to the Otterbox's?

I don't. I would love an Otterbox if they came in the cool colors like the fruit phone.

Is it as bulky at the OtterBox Defender? Im looking to replace my defender with something slimmer
How much weight does it add?? I love how light this phone is and I'm looking for a case that doesn't add much weight
Sent from my GalaxyNexus using XDA App
anything similar for the gsm?
I also ordered this case Black/Red. I have a GSM version. The difference between the LTE/GSM is .53mm so Im thinking it'll be fine. I read a negative review about this case that discouraged me but after reading this thread im feeling a lil better. Pics look great on the SGN. Also Carbon Fiber Ghost Armor will be between my boo boo (lol) and the case so I'm not worried about the plastic scratching my phone. It also comes with a Naked Shield screen protector wich I've read is a wet application. Any thoughts on the included screen protector? Is it any good? Doubt id peel my Ghost Armor screen protector off for any other but im still interested if it's good.

It adds near 0 weight to the phone, at least it seems as if it does not which is the important part
I just got this, LOVE IT! although it does add some bulk it barely added much weight and it fits well with the extended battery with one exception, I had to remove my skin that was installed on the phone... I was a little shocked it wouldn't fit with that skin but I guess I don't need it...

Genuine Samsung Ultra Slim Cover 2 Pack

Has anyone used these? I've only been able to find 2 reviews on YouTube and they weren't the best. I would post them too but I can't even find em again lol. Or does anyone else know of some generic ones that might be cheaper but just as thin? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on these but their a but expensive and I would prefer black. I have the diztronic tpu but these seem much thinner. Very appealing.

I have one of the blue ones. Super thin and almost feel as if they aren't there. Good quality, but to thin for me..
I use a case mate tough.
I bought the white 2 pack and I love them. They're incredibly thin, most people wouldn't even know you have a case on. If you're looking for something to just protect it from scratches and small dings these will work. But these won't help with a drop or any serious force. But the quality is really good, and like I said, you can't even tell there is something on the phone except for the new texture.
One thing though, if you have a US branded S3 that says Galaxy S III on the bottom of the battery cover, the case also has it, but it doesn't line up. So it looks a little weird, but not really a big deal at all.
Thanks for the replies. Do these provide any face down protection? Judging by the few poor videos I found I'm guessing it doesn't because it just barely wraps around the edge. Anyone know of any solid color ones?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
It comes over the edge a tiny tiny bit, but not enough to really offer any protection. I keep a screen protector on, so I don't mind putting my phone face down though.

Hey guys I just found these. If you look in the similar items there's one that even claims to be .2mm thick. Only thing is their from Hong Kong and I don't really want to wait that long for shipping haha

I have the clear/white case for my blue S3 & I love it. Face down protection is not there but the feel of no added bulk and the protection against scratches is enough for me, the fact that it covers the whole bezel is also a plus.
My only downside to an extent is the colour, its more white than clear but not a big issue just a black would have been preferred.
Line mine as well. Ads some grip and minor protection, but no bulk at all. The tpu case i have too feels like it makes the phone huge in comparison.
Also mine that i got at expansys-usa does not have any Samsung logo on it.

ZaggSkin Review

Hey friends,
Anyone have any experience with the zaggskin for the S3? I am thinking about submitting my own design but I haven't seen any reviews for the s3 version. I am worried about it coming off on the sides and whether it will fit the curves of the back cover properly.
If you have any pictures of it, I would be really happy if you could post em
I have the zagg screen .... so far so good..... its pretty decent.... bought at radio shack or $20.00. It did start to lift a lil bit on the edge by the sensor however, just cleaned a lil bit and re stuck...... this is my second zaag.... the first one was on my sensation.... really protected phone..... increased the resale value not to mention lite time warranty. Installed a new one before i sold it....

The Zagg skin started to fall apart on my phone after the 45day warranty. The plastic layer got separated from the adhesive layer where the picture is. Zagg told me that my warranty was over so I would have to buy another one. Yeah right... Buy a new skin every 45 days?
I've attached a picture here. It is coming off on all the corners except the top right. It was applied properly because the sticker layer is still on there. It's clearly a manufacturer defect or a low quality product.
I've had a few ZAGGSkins in my day and I usually buy one for every phone I get with a different design on each.
The general feel I've had with them is rather good and to be honest the only downside is they can peel in rounded areas if not applied properly. So keep that in mind when you do go to apply it.
But overall, I would definitely recommend getting a custom ZAGGSkin because for one it makes the phone significantly more grippier so one handed typing is more plausible, the skin is a custom design of your choice and its pretty much unscratchable!
So, get one!! And if you need help creating a design, let me know and I'll see if I can stitch something together for you.
