After successfully flashing the kernel with fast boot, the phone just stays on black screen. I used flashtool to flash the provided ftf file, wiping data in the process, and tried to flash the kernel again - no success.
Any ideas?
Thanks

046 kernel for whatever reason doesn't boot, 216monster, myself and now you have confirmed that. 045 kernel works with 046 firmware, you can download it here:

that one will boot.

Try to reflash his kernel & ROM and do everything in the right order.
you will need to reflash the 4.0.2.A.0.42 .
1- check if your phone is unlocked (bootloader)
2- use the fastboot to flash the new kernel
3- follow the instruction of doomlord for booting into recovery
4- use the package that is given by doomlord

Do you have the rom zip still on memory?
If so just flash it (wiping data/cache/dvalik etc) the rom zip should contain the kernel anyway

hi..i have been trying out different ROMS and have been successfull at doing it.
when i first rooted my phone i flashed PACman v15, used it for a while and then kept flashing different ROMs
I then flashed [ROM-PrimoU|GSM] [18.3.13] myONEv RC9.5 FX+ (Sense 4.1 Lite), which also booted correctly..
i then decided to flash another jelly bean ROM. however none of the ROMs available are able to boot.
I also flashed the appropriate kernel, wiped everything, nothing works.. kept getting boot loops.
so nw m back to [ROM-PrimoU|GSM] [18.3.13] myONEv RC9.5 FX+ (Sense 4.1 Lite) this ROM.
could anyboody tell me what i could be doing wrong?
tell the procedure how you switch to other rom ?

1) took backup in twrp
2) wiped everything
3) flashed ROM in sd card
(step 3 and 4 were also interchanged cause i read somewhere, looking for solutions to this, that u need to flash kernel first then ROM )
4) rebooted into bootloader -flashed appropriate kernel
5) reboot system.
6) bootloop occured!

Seriously have no clue!!
dont know why but i think that it has something to do with recovery ..coz i also change roms frequently.. currently running evervolv and it booted without any problem i flashed the kernel mentioned in the op then the rom...(after wiping everything cache, data, dalvik cache through cwm)
and it was a success..

I don't know if it will create any problem or not. But i had once issue like that.
I installed PimpMyRom and did some tweaks. After that i rebooted my phone and at that time my device gets soft bricked.
So i just thought it might be that issue.
Just try reflashing rescue package if u have downloaded it.
And if you are sure that u have not done any tweaks then its ok.
But the thing is that you are having a strange problem, so its worth a try.
