I have recently bought a HTC One and decided to put my rooted Desire HD back to stock. Ran the RUU file I found from this site and everything went through smoothly. Phone seems to be working perfectly, wifi, internet etc etc. However it will not let me sign into my Google account to access the store so I can install some of the apps I want. I have been on the browser and that lets me sign into Google no problem.
Tried signing in during the 'initial setup', tried via accounts & sync in settings and tried by clicking the store app and entering details in there.
I've restarted the phone several times, I've reset it to factory settings.
Android version 2.3.5 Sense 3.0 Software number 3.12.405.1
Any ideas?
*Edit* Solved it now, it seems the Desire HD is unable to use Google's 2 step verification when signing in so it reports back as wrong username or password. The One has no issues which is why it worked fine on my new phone.
If anyone else comes across this problem then turning off 2 step verification and signing in works perfect, you can then switch it back on afterwards.

What's going on here? Anyone got any ideas? I click download or update and it says "download error -101". I've wiped market cache, data, and i've downloaded the latest market.apk and installed it and it's made no difference. When i use my other gmail account it works every time though, which isn't much use when i want to update my paid apps and games :/
I get the same thing for the last couple of days. I was trying a new rom and I have a lot of apps. After loading the new rom it started installing the apps but after some were done, the rest give me this error. I've tried everything on the phone and then loaded a different rom but I'm getting the same error now right away.
I've heard that it may have to do with amount you download from Market in a specific period, has anyone been able to confirm this?
Well, it seems that there is a time based quota, I waited a day and everything loaded up just fine.
Yeah all is good now. Must be a time quota like you said. How you enjoying the Gnex anyway? I'm in love with mine

Strange, mines started showing the error again. I just flashed a new rom so maybe its reset or something. But it still let's me download from my alternate Gmail.

Same issue
Got the same issue its really annoying i hope it starts working before the drop the price of modern combat 3
I had the same problem, here is what I did!
Here is what I did:
*********************************************
1. Settings
2. Personal: Accounts and Sync
3. Selected my Google account
4. Once within my Google account, clicking on the context menu/settings menu I selected "Remove Account"
5. Once the account was removed it prompted and asked for a new account, I entered the credentials for the same account and then rebooted
6. Once it rebooted I went to the Market, accepted the EULA and downloaded Google Gesture (I wanted to try a free app first) without any issues!
FYI - the account I deleted was fine, there were no issues in how it showed up but deleted it anyway.
*********************************************
I hope this helps people out! Good luck!
Anything new?
I already tried |mpulse tip, but it didn't help.

Tried that and it worked for downloading maybe three apps but now it is back to giving me the 101 error again. This started to happen after I went from a yakjuxw build to yakju maybe that has something to do with it. I am running stock 4.0.2, rooted and unlocked bootloader.
This worked
Removing and adding the account worked! Thanks!
me too....so a can wait for minute....
Im experiencing this also, I tried removing my account, rebooting and adding it again and it didnt work. Its something with the account. I added my account to my wifes razr and same thing, no apps would load. Added hers to my phone and her apps loaded fine. I cant even push apps from online market to my phone.
Instead of deleteing the account. I tried syncing the account.
It worked.
1/2 the time without a reboot.
I have a Galaxy Note and the same problem with Market (error -101).
I tried to remove the Google account but it does not work. I also reset phone to factory mode and re-installed everything but still does not work
I have no clue any more what to do.
Mine has started showing the error again today. No new rom or installing lots of apps. Just happened. Really pissing me off now.

Hi there XDA,
Proud to be a member of the One X team, I have searched for a resoloution to this issue however I cannot find a single thing. Basically i ctreated a Google account specifically for this phone, as I don't use my old Google account and I wanted to start fresh. After logging in to it and setting up all the other accounts on the phone, I decided to install apps. I went to the online Play store however as the phone hadn't completed its initial sync it wasn't appearing online, so I started to download from the PlayStore on the phone. That's when I noticed that on trying to install UPDATES for pre-installed applications it said 'Your order is processing. Your item will be available in a few minutes' Well after a few minutes my application will not update and this error will not stop.
I did a factory reset, and set the phone up with my old Google account however I didn't set anything else up, just my old Google account. Then I tried to update apps through the PlayStore and it worked! I put the issues down to the new Google account and so quickly created another. I did a factory reset and set the phone up with ONLY this new Google account. The updates WORKED.
So then I did another reset and set the phone up with all the accounts ect and this new google account. The phone will not install updates and is giving me the error again also the phone is appearing online, however it won't install any apps, it says the request has been sent when i click install online however the app never installs on my phone. If I go to the PlayStore on my phone and install a not-installed app it will work though.
Please help somebody thankyou!
Hi so I have a HTC Desire A8181and finally decided it was time to play about with some of the new firmwares that are out there to give my phone a new lease of life. Firstly I tried an update to 4.0.4 and ran into this problem.
Everything else works fine but I just cannot log into my google account to connect to Play and sync my contacts etc. I get the could not establish a reliable connection to the server error. I can browse the internet fine and have a solid 3G connection. I read through some other forums about changing the host file but this made no difference for me. Also tried turning off the auto date/time but this didn't make any difference also.
After many hours I gave up and assumed it must be something in that ROM. I installed a 4.1.1 ROM and ran into the same issue again!
When I restore back to my original 2.3.3 it works straight away. Checked the host file and it has nothing in there other than the local host.
I am now left on 2.3.3 as I can't get passed this hurdle and hit it with two completley different ROM's
The phone is rooted and has the custom recovery.
Any help would be very much appriciated so I can finally leave 2.3.3!

Thanks for your reply. I tried as you said but still no luck! The web browser works fine just seems to be the apps that can't connect.
Sorted it at last! Turns out once updated to the new firmwares was defaulting to a different APN setting.

So you just changed the APN settings back to the original (2.3.3) and it worked?
Hey folks
I searched for similar topics but nothing helped
When connected on my home wi-fi I can't download or update from PlayStore. But over other Wi-Fi Networks it works, like at friends home or at work. Also over 3G there is no problem.
When updating I get the notification "Update for "the app" could not be downloaded due to an error (927)
I tried the uninstall updates from google play services and data from dl manager method, wipe dalvik method, log out delete google account and relogin with the google account method. Rebooted router, checked for some strange settings... nothing helped.
Anyone got an Idea what could cause this problem?
Thanks

Every time that I've had that issue, here's what I do. I'm aware you've tried about half of the things, but you missed a step lol.
1) Settings>Apps>Running Force Stop Google Play/Anything else tied to it (I usually stop all Google services)
2) Log out of your Google Account
3) Go into your app drawer, tap and drag the Google Play icon to the "info" to open up the info on the app.
4) Clear data and cache for the app, disregard the warning messages
5) Reboot device
6) Log back in
7)????
8) Profit
I'll give it a try, thanks!
Just wanted to pitch in my two cents on my experiences with this problem:
I have a rooted Sprint Note 2 running CM 10.2. I had no problems with the Play Store when I first rooted and got CM up and running. However, I had to flash back to a stock ROM because of GPS issues. When I flashed back to CM (via nandroid restore), Play Store was returning the error: "Error retrieving information from the server [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]."
So I deleted Play Store data and restarted. Then, strangely enough, when I logged back in, the Play Store did not have anything in "My Apps" or "Installed Apps," and when I tried to download anything, now it was returning "download error (927)."
So then, I deleted Play Store and Google services data and tried again. No good. So then, I cleared the Play Store and Google Services data, booted into recovery, and flashed gapps again (e.g. a clean install of Play Store). Still got error 927. I then tried switching google accounts on Play Store - still no luck.
As I was still in the office at this point, I gave up and decided to go home to try later. When I came above ground on the subway, I noticed that Play Store was automatically updating some of my apps with no problems.
In conclusion, I have no idea which solution - or combination of solutions - worked, but the problem was solved. Here is a list of every step I took:
1. Deleted Play Store and Google Services data in Apps
2. Reinstalled the Play Store
3. Switched Google Accounts
4. Waited 30 minutes to try again?
Hope this helps for people having this annoying problem.

My problem wont be fixed with any of these as its 927 on all of my devices but sometimes after 11pm it works. and sometimes during a reset of my phone they will automatically download sporadically. Its google servers for me. To bad google's customer service is one of the worst i have seen.
I would have to agree I have the same issue and have had it since December of last year at least. I have an email thread that shows the ongoing issues and they have never fixed a single issue. I can't even load the play store at all now just get connection timed out retry and forget trying all the "fixes" because I have gone through hours and hours and tried every fix that anyone could suggest. For a while I was able to download successfully but not reliably and ONLY ON CELLULAR. Google servers even knew when I was connecting to another phone (using it as a hotspot) and since it was cellular it worked fine. But if I used a real landline wifi it would error every single time. I basically have given up and will not buy another app or even use my android devices and thankfully I have others to use since I work for a phone company but google is absolutely pathetic in this. Google's suggestion is they are working on it and there is nothing else they can do for me. That's fine if it was a few days or maybe a few weeks but this is well over 4 months and they are making products unusable.
I did a simple root using Kingo. Everything went well until it fully booted up. I had followed instructions to the T to make sure nothing happened. Well something did. When it fully loaded I had many apps missing from my phone and I kept getting error popups from several things. The main one is "______ won't run withour Google Play services, which are missing from your phone." When I went to add my google account back on my phone, the option to add a google account was completely missing. The only ones left are: Samsung, Email, LDAP, LinkedIn, Microsoft exch, Personal (IMAP), Personal (POP3), SolCalendar, Sync aps w/Facebook, Sync app w/Google+, Twitter, Zedge. I tried pressing the Google+ option, the screen flashes and goes back to the accounts home screen.
I also ran root again and nothing changed, then the unroot option on Kingo and it failed.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I used Kingo about 2 yrs ago, no problem, but that was on original Android 4.3, what OS version do you have now and is Kingo updated and compatible with that version?
Do you have root now? If I was you I would probably try to factory reset and reload OS, but since something is messed up, you could easily brick it, Maybe should try to contact Kingo first? They may have website or something.
